Had some great cold treats from this family owned business in Pingree Grove. It maintains a rural setting even though it's next to a subdivision. The Milk House has classic flavors along with the modern and more experiential too. A busy place whether or not the weather is cold. You may wait awhile but it's not crazy long of a wait to be honest. Came here on the weekend and it was crazy busy. It's got a parking lot but it was all filled. There were cars parked all along the street. Getting here sure took awhile. Had to walk from a few blocks away just to get in line and wait even longer. Actually the line moved pretty fast. Lots of flavors that always change up. It's about $3 for a scoop in a cup. We also got a bottle of pop. Flavors include grape. The ice cream list rotates. We got some of the Pink Lemonade Sorbet. Basically it's sour and sweet as one can expect. They also have Vietnamese Cinnamon if wanting a more exotic flavor. Great place to hang out around here for families and anyone. Love the ice cream! There was a line since it was a weekend but we were served quickly!

The Milk House is located in Pingree Grove. Mostly farm land out here, so most of the support is probably from the locals. There was a line when we walked up and a dry erase sign with the flavors of the day. There were regular flavors offered along with some contemporary ones like cantaloupe, grape lemonade sorbet, and pineapple upside down cake for example. The line progressed fairly quickly. On the inside was a freezer with pints and quarts, homemake cookies, and a variety of old fashioned bottled sodas all for sale. Service was nice and friendly, however the shop was lacking in posted prices. Samples are available and I tried blueberry pie. I opted for a scoop of the key lime pie and it turned out to be creamy and delicious. It captured the slightly tart but sweet flavor of key lime pie with sprinkles of graham cracker crust. I was told the vanilla was great as well. The one scoop was a generous portion priced a little over $4. I loved the experience and look forward to coming back and trying other flavors of ice cream, sherbet, and sorbet! read more

Ever since Brook and Clint sold The Milk House last year to their son Brandon, it's been a total disaster. When the teenagers are working, it's fantastic! Those kids hustle hard serving ice cream. This past week I went there and it was closed (The Milk House is never closed). I went back the following day and the teenagers weren't working. It was just the owner, Brandon, all by himself. He appeared to be stoned out of his mind! There was hardly a line and it took forever for him to serve people. People were leaving, The Milk House was loosing business because of him. I recently heard that he didn't schedule anyone because he's been too messed up to do so and he also forgot to pay his entire staff this past Friday. No wonder why the teenagers weren't working! If Brook and Clint don't step in and take The Milk House away from their son Brandon, I don't see that place lasting much longer with him owning it. read more

Newly discovered ice cream shop! I was happy to find this little gem of freshly made in house ice cream. I had the strawberry , the one scoop is huge, I believe about 12 oz!! The flavor was on point. I could taste the fresh strawberries in it , combined with cream it was heavenly. We also ordered the banana split and two scoops of raspberry and butter pecan. All the flavors were on point, fresh and delicious. Not overwhelming with sugar. The place is small but there is plenty of picnic tables outdoors and insure a barn too. The place was busy with locals, couples and families with kids also a local baseball team. The service was quick and the personnel were helpful and courteous. Wonderful outing in the country. My wife can't wait for the weather to get warm. She always suggests we visit Milk House weekly. It is about 20 minutes by motorcycle and a very pleasant ride. We have tried all of the exotic ice creams and love them all. They also have a taster which gives you several options at once. The place started small but keeps getting more fans. Well, I guess we entered when shouldn't have and were looked down upon. We naturally moved up and the employee was very rude to us, she said please stand back. It was her tone that was unfriendly. I would have been more than happy if they communicated to me that I needed to wait outside, to wait outside. Not given a napkin with our order, she looked very annoyed at the action of having to turn around and grab a napkin when I asked for some. We paid and left. You can find a pint or quart in my freezer at all times. We had a tornado warning and when I heard no tornado had been sighted, I decided I needed some ice cream as I was all out. I'm no expert but every banana split I've ever eaten had vanilla ice cream, strawberries, pineapples and chocolate fudge. Imagine my surprise when the (very nice) employee made me a banana sundae. I should have know something was up when she asked which 3 flavors of ice cream I wanted on my 'banana split'. I confusedly considered my options while the banana was being cut only to confidently decide on vanilla. I'm then asked whether I want a traditional banana split.....with fudge and nuts.
