I said I was still deciding. My parents were standing next to me and instead of asking them for their order she just walked away. Another employee told her we were trying to order. She waved her arms in the air to that employee and said "they don't want anything." Right in front of us and loud enough that we heard her. She looked annoyed and walked away. We then had to wait a few minutes while the other employees helped other costumer. Then when the lady saw another customer come in, she came out, ignored us and went to help them. I told her, "but we were here first (still need help with order)," and she said "somebody else will take your order." That's just disrespectful, unprofessional. The paletas are very good! However, it's a shame that the customer service, from this one employee, was so bad. A product being good is not enough to keep people coming back. Customer service is the greatest factor in the success of a business. I know La Michoacana is a big chain and it will not fail as a company from one bad review, but good reputation needs to be sustained.

Second only to Al's Ice Creamery in downtown Elgin, which is the old famous Burns pharmacy chocolate Malt that used to be located on Bluff City Blvd some 50+ years ago. Oberweis gets it right with just the perfect amount of malt. It comes with a cookie straw and a fair amount of whipped cream. If you've never had the pleasure of trying one of their ice cream delicacies, stop in and give them a try, you won't be disappointed with anything their on the menu. They make milkshakes and even have hot and iced coffee including Turkish. Crepes are one of the main items. These are filled with chocolate, Nutella, or basically whatever. Also they have dip sticks, which is fruit on skewers dipped in chocolate. They also make lava cake and other big items. Got a lot of sweet stuff to both drink and eat.
