The place is in an odd spot. You have to go through a door, past an elevator and that was a bit confusing but not really the owner's fault cause that's just where it's located. When I walked in it was clean and lit nicely. Plenty of variety with the items. The mint lemonade I ordered was really good. I had never had something like that before and thoroughly enjoyed! For drinks, a choice between regular and large. Pictured is the large, and to be honest it's not exactly that big but I think my expectations are hindered by fast food places like Wendy's that sell a cup the size of a barrel labeling it a large. Plus, no ice added in so it's all drink. The drink total was $8.72, that is with a tip though. Of course tipping is always optional but I always feel nervous not to tip. Im not sure why I did because all he did was fill a cup with the drink that was in the mixer. But yknow lol not his fault. Solid place and friendly guy.

Dolce V has a little bit of everything to offer! Gelato, coffee, baked goods, alcohol beverages,…read morewines for purchase and even sub sandwiches! I stopped by when passing through the area for a coffee and to check out dt Bloomingdales new addition. I loved that this was located in an older house and had seating both inside and on the front patio. The gentleman working was filling a sub order before helping me. There was minimal signage posted so I got to ask about what they had to offer. I decided on an iced lavender latte and two donuts to go (biscoff & cannoli). Everything was ready in minutes which was great! My coffee was strong but had minimal lavender flavoring. The donuts were the real win! $2 for each, great flavor filling, and super soft! While the coffee wasn't my favorite in the area, I'd definitely come back to try other baked goods and the sub sandwiches!

LOVE ME A SMALL LOCAL BUSINESS!!! Dolce V is such a quaint addition to the Old Bloomingdale area…read moreand I absolutely adore em. The building itself appears to be a house and it gave me the sense of 'Welcome home, kick your feet up and relax.' There is an outdoor front patio and 2 small tables inside but it seems that for the most part people grab and go or sit at the patio. I was so happy to see that this place was crowded at 8:30am. This is a family owned business and it was great to see them doing well. Service was on the slower side, but again, it was busy and this spot is fairly new. I tried a cappuccino and a pistachio brioche donut. The cappuccino was the perfect temperate of hot but not overly hot. Quality wise I also enjoyed the flavors and texture of this cappuccino. That pistachio brioche donut?!?! The 1 I had must have been freshly baked bc goodness it was delicious and warm. HEAVEN IN MY MOUTH, full of flavor, light/delicate and just oh so goooood. I will say that I wish the filling was more generous but overall this was a very good donut.

Just go down stairs through the entrance marked the Fox and Turtle and you're there. They seem to provide four flavors at a time and have new ones frequently (daily?). At any rate it was delicious and it was nice not to have to go into dangerous downtown Chicago to get good gelato. Highly recommended and looking forward to the growth of this new business.

This next location is a hidden gem in Itasca…read more This small confectionery wonder is located near the front entrance of Fox and Turtle in the Itasca country club. The name is Undici Gelato in Itasca. The owner, whose name is Antonella, spent years with top chefs to create the most perfect Gelato. The flavors change by the week and are all made with fresh fruits and creams. Nothing is artificial. I had been here many months ago as a suggestion from a friend to try their out of this world Gelato. I again was contacted by a subscriber who told me that I needed to try their new shakes made with fresh gelato. They said it will blow my mind with how good it is. I arrived at around 4 o'clock on a Friday. I sat at the bar area of Undici. I spoke with Antonella for quite some time. She is such a wonderful and friendly owner. I could not wait to try this shake that she had in store for me. I opted to get my shake as a malt. The shake consisted of fresh strawberry gelato. When I tell you, I took my first sip and it took everything in me not to chug the entire shake right then and there. You could taste the fresh strawberries. You could also taste the high-quality cream. It was like drinking pure silk. It was so creamy and smooth, one if not the best shake I've ever had in my life. I had to get one to bring home to my wife so she could also try this confectionery masterpiece. The price of this super high-quality shake was only six dollars. It blew my mind. There is another shake and location literally a block away from here that I did a review on. They were charging $14 for a shake that could not hold a candle to the flavour and quality of this shake. As I sat and talked with Antonella, enjoying my shake, she also told me she had another drink that she was introducing to the menu. It was what she called an Italian spritzer that she wanted me to try. The drink before I tasted it looked so beautiful and refreshing. I took my first sip and it took me back to when I was in Italy. The flavours were a subtle orange with hints of citrus. It was a wonderful and refreshing drink to have on a summer day. I cannot stress enough that all of you need to go here for the best in Gelato. The quality and flavor is like nothing you've ever had. Follow her on Facebook where she updates her flavors weekly. Undici is open at 4 o'clock on Fridays to close. It is also open on the weekends. Check hours before showing up. I never recommend a place without my stamp of approval. Check Undici Gelato out and you can thank me later. I rate Undici in Itasca a 9.3 out of 10.

Fortunately Amorino Gelato is one of the better ones that I've run across. The decor here definitely looks much more elegant than the average frozen treat restaurant, with the different gelatos displayed in clean looking cases and premium machines visible making drinks. The menus and signage is all very elegant looking -- though the print on them is small enough it can be difficult to read at times. I really appreciate how the overall restaurant is colorful with food and signage, but is elegant rather than tacky. I do wish there was a bit more seating here, as the business gets rather busy but you may have to compete for somewhere to sit and enjoy your treat. The food unsurprisingly is very good. The gelato flavors are distinct with clean and fairly bold flavors made with good quality ingredients. I also tried the waffle here which was fairly light, crisp, and enjoyable. They are very generous with samples here and I enjoyed every flavor that I tried. Prices are fairly reasonable compared to similar establishments. Overall, worth a visit if you need a sweet treat within Woodfield Mall, particularly if you're looking for gelato in a rose shape in a cone.
