This WAS the Fresa Churro Sundae and the Churro Bites! 10/10 traveled from Memphis, TN to try them

Nice little place at the entrance of the flea market. Not hard to find at all. Churros are fresh! Ice cream was yummy. The service was great and quick! 10/10

Great experience here today. Stopped by on my lunch break after reading great reviews in the maps. $9 got me a MASSIVE churro box that would easily feed 4 people. Highly recommend

This place is located within the old Milk Pail complex, which is now a great Mexican food court and mall of small shops. You can find this place by following the signs and you can enter directly from the outside. You don't have to wander through the maze of shops to find it. Just head down the winding sidewalk near the middle of the complex and look for the blue painted storefront near the back. The churros here are fantastic. Warm, crunchy, and filled with sweet goodness. Pro tip: you can buy churros individually, just $2 each. Worth the trip!

Yum city!! I wanted more! The Churros were freshly made and they had so many options of fillings!! The coconut has the perfect sweetness! But the apple filling was a perfect addition to my churro! The Oreo coffee drink was a great combo of coffee, Oreo, ice cream and amazingness! Victor and his family were wonderful!! True hospitality!! Victor was kind enough to let my family try his new menu item... the churro sandwich. Perfect for these hot summer days!! A hidden gem in the Milk Pail. Want a better visual? Really yummy crunchy treats which lots of vegan fillings listed on the menu. They were out of apple the day we visited so we got plain. Cute little seating area inside. Outside looks a bit run down but not busy and ample parking with food trucks parked out in the lot. Would eat these hot dessert again!

We discovered this little gem about a year ago, and we've been customers ever since. Anytime we have friends over or are celebrating something special, we pick up the bakers dozen. And let me tell you, there's never even a crumb left!! The churros are so perfect - crunchy on the outside, soft and oozing with filling in the middle. We cannot wait to finally try the churros sundaes this summer! They almost always sell out, but call ahead and place your order for pickup! Everyone is so kind (even to a couple gringos like us)! I dare you to make it home without eating a vanilla one in your car! Can't be done!

Bakers dozen churros to go! Cream cheese, Nutella, coconut, cajeta, strawberry, pineapple, and apple.

Why has it taken me so long to try this place?? It's a little off the beaten path but easy to find. If you park in the Tianguis/Milk Pail lot, you'll see a building that looks like a red barn. Follow the sidewalk along the right side of that building, and you'll see a blue building on your left. Do yourself a favor, and go inside. I went in at noon on a Saturday, and there was no wait. I ordered a bakers dozen and told the man at the counter I'd like one of each flavor + extras of whatever he recommended. He was great, even going so far as to ask me if I'd like for him to skip the plain ones! I also ordered a champurrado. If you've never had one before, do yourself a second favor and order one. Sweet, warm, thick, and a little nutty. The building itself is super cute, and I loved admiring the holiday decor and listening to David Bowie singing "The Little Drummer Boy" on the radio while I waited for my order. Really set the tone for my weekend. The churros came quick, and when I got home I cut a couple inches from each one to make a "churro flight". There was not a dud in the batch. I had vanilla, coconut, cajeta (caramel), pineapple, cream cheese, apple, strawberry, and Nutella. Five stars all around. They even close off one end of the churro so it doesn't spill out while you eat! I'm already planning my next trip back.

This place has the best top churros that I have ever tasted, now I give the churros a 5 star, but the costumer care and service is not welcoming or nice. You walk in without a greeting just "can I help you" I have even tried asking how thier day is going and you get the same down play energy. everyone seems dead beat and no love to what they do. I only come for the amazing churros, other than that the care and welcoming is not there from any employee. No recommendations on churros, or service of care.

Nutella churros! So yummy and fresh.

Best churro place in the Elgin area! These churros are authentic and made fresh. My favorite are the Nutella churros and the plain churros, they are thin warm and delicious. They also have fresh champurrado this is a Mexican thick heavy hot chocolate with pecan drink. You should try it, especially with the cold weather. The staff there is very friendly and although there is a long most of the time it is worth the wait. FYI, just be careful while eating your delicious churro with filling because once you bite it the filling come out on the other side. Be ready with napkins!

Great atmosphere overall the churros had a good taste. I would personally prefer them a bit crunchier and less oily.

Very berry churro sundae topped with lechera-filling is Nutella.

If you love churros then please pay them a visit!!! Such a delicious treat, guilty pleasure! Only thing that sucks is the location but it's worth it!

While our server was very nice, she was relatively absent. It took a long time for us to get something as simple as bread, and often, we had to ask multiple times for things. Beverages took forever, and although I ordered two of the same drink, they were completely different each time and lacked consistency. They were out of...steak, of all things, on an important weekend. We were going to order four ribeyes ($60 each), and instead ended up having to order items that were at least half the price--very much a missed business opportunity. This continued into the main course, as well. When we got our food, everything was cold. We were ready to go so we asked for the check, and then, it was taking so long for it to arrive that we ended up just finding the server and paid. We really wanted to like this place, but by the time we were done, we wished we had gone anywhere else. I believe it was a combination of being short staffed and just not being operationally prepared to run a restaurant this size with what seemed like a fairly usually nice spring day crowd. We won't be going back, but we really hope they get it together and others will give them a try--we need restaurants like these to be successful.

We arrived promptly at 5:50 PM and were told by the hostess that our table would be ready shortly. I will say the restaurant was packed with families enjoying dinner. We were seated at approximately 6:20 PM when multiple tables opened up. While waiting for our table I noticed the various dishes being served to the tables in my viewing area. They smelled amazing and appeared to have very generous portions (leftovers). We were seated and our waitress Dalena M, quickly came to our table for our adult beverage selection. I ordered a Cozy Sweater beer, which was too light of a beer for my liking. Our friends ordered a red glass of wine and a lemon martini. For our appetizers we ordered Grilled Octopus, which was cooked to perfection. For our main entrees, I ordered a Fields of wheat chicken & bacon Ranch pizza & my wife ordered a Margherita pizza. Again, both pizzas were cooked to perfection. I was a bit jealous as I also have a woodfired pizza oven from Italy in my backyard, but unfortunately mine dough never tastes this delicious. For dessert my wife ordered Affogato (which is he go-to dessert) which was delicious. I ordered a coffee and strawberry cheesecake. The coffee was very good, and the cheesecake was very creamy and not dry. We are planning on returning with our adult children and their spouses.

The ambiance strikes a perfect balance with dim, intimate lighting and a clean, modern presentation. It feels polished without being stiff, refined but still welcoming. Most importantly, it delivers where it counts, on the plate. We started with the lamb lollipops, cooked precisely to temperature and finished with crushed pistachios, pomegranate, and a rich demi-glace. Each bite delivered depth, brightness, and texture. The Dungeness crab croquettes were equally impressive, crispy on the outside with a delicate, herbaceous interior. Rich, but never heavy. The French onion soup is an experience in itself, served in a hollowed onion. Bold, deeply savory, and incredibly comforting. Service elevated the night even further. Our server, Karra, asked if we'd sharing and had the kitchen split our entrées into individual portions, a thoughtful touch. The steak arrived perfectly cooked, and exactly as ordered. We finished with the English sticky toffee pudding, warm, gooey, and unapologetically decadent. Montarra doesn't chase trends. It executes upscale dining with precision, care, and genuine hospitality. That is exactly why it stands out, and why I'll keep coming back. Go experience it for yourself.

However, I don't care what you say about old fashioned businesses getting run over by these new establishments and all the young kids. Breakfast needs energy. And this place had it. Low-Cal Scrambler (4/5) --- Light and good! Lots of fresh veggies and fruit in the dish! Good variety of fresh fruits! Overall a great meal, I actually couldn't finish it, it was too much for me. Southern Belle Scrambler (4/5) --- This combo consisted of two variables. 1 - A totally bomb skillet that included: Ham, Bacon, Sausage, Hash Browns, Scrambled Eggs, and some vegetables. 2 - Disappointing chocolate chip pancakes. The skillet was huge. I took half of my entire meal home. And although it's hard to mess up a skillet, the cheesiness really brought everything together well. The only reason I can't give me order 5 stars is because I'm a believer in the pancake. If I ask for chocolate chip pancakes, I want more than just a few couple morsels drizzled on top. A meal for 2 with a large amount of take home for a little under $30. I'd recommend coming here to anyone.
