I won't knock it as once upon a time I came a few years and the cookies were warm. Unfortunately now the cookies are cold and fridged up. I was rather disappointed, also as my friends stated how different the cookies were now. Don't get me wrong, I still like them, just not going to go out of my way (as we did tonight) to come purchase them. Years ago though we would get them warm and still oozing, now they seem to just sit in a cold fridge and not warmed up. I think it took something away from the experience for me anyway. All in all it's still a good cookie, but i think warming them up first is the best deal vs the cookies being seriously cold and hard. I kept seeing posts about this on social media so I had to check it out. Its a cozy spot with different types of cookies, ice cream sundaes, shakes, and even frozen lemonade. I ordered a turtle cupcake cookie, an apple pie cookie and a pecan pie cookie. They offered to warm the apple and pecan pie cookies and you can get them ala mode. Since I wasn't eating them right away I didn't get them warmed. I ate the turtle cupcake cookie first. I failed to take a picture before devouring it but it was very good. The apple pie and pecan pie cookies were fantastic! They gave you a taste of pie in a cookie form. I warmed the apple pie cooke and had it with vanilla ice cream which was really good! The cookies are between soft and firm, kind of thin and have a helpful amount of icing on top. They're kind of expensive in my personal opinion, but if you like them, maybe they're worth the cost? Open on Sundays!! I didn't realize so many bakeries are closed on Sundays, until I needed to make a surprise delivery of baked treats this Sunday morning. Thankfully, I'd heard about Twisted Cookie through a new program called "Takeout 25 Oak Park" whose aim is to increase spending at Oak Park (and adjacent towns) restaurants and bakeries, in order to help businesses survive the COVID crisis. We each commit to spending at least $25 a week on take-out and/or delivery. Then we post photos of our purchases in the Facebook group. The photos from this place looked so good!! I had no problem finding $25+ in fresh-baked cookies at Twisted Cookie!! I took a photo of the 4 remaining cookies, but there were 10 on the plate at the start. They were each quickly claimed and eaten! I also picked up a pound of Philosophy coffee beans. They also sell soft serve ice cream, shakes, and malts! The staff was super nice. I was at the Garage Galleries event in Forest Park last summer and one of the galleries had a coupon for a free cookie. I had been wondering about this place so we went. We got our free cookie and ordered a few more as they looked so great! Wow! New place that is better than all the many bakeries in Oak Park! I love this place! Service is great; one of the things we purchased was a cake slice. When we left and crossed to the other side of the street, the Owner was flagging us down- she said she wasn't sure if she had told us to refrigerate our cake ( she had). What a delightful find. Kinda frustrated from having bad Italian food in the neighborhood, my son and I were looking for dessert. Nothing heavy. He recommended this place. We were greeted by this lady whose name I don't remember but that was an amazing host. You could tell she liked in there. She knew her cookies back and forth and boy her recommendation were spot on. We ordered a key lime cookie and a chocolate banana. These cookies are more like cupcakes and are quite complex to make. Many layers of flavors and more than anything, absolutely delicious. So much so that I went back and bought two more to go. A raspberry-peanut butter and a red velvet. Needless to say excellent. We were treated so well by the lady that I asked for the owner, to tell her how pleased we were. She was in the store and she was as nice as the store clerk. I really recommend this place. While they state on the box that this done done to preserve freshness, it's a complete disappointment to have to warm them up in a microwave. If Insomnia can do it, and have a better product.... I actually think this place has the best milkshakes in town. Great idea to go there. If you're looking to blow a diet or have a truly epic treat. The cookies are decent, the amount of time you'll spend waiting for a milkshake is... Inconsistent. but it will taste really good. The last couple times I was there, they were playing some kind of Internet radio station that kept cutting out, which would've driven me completely insane if I worked there. Little did I know at the time he loved this place. Ordered half a dozen cookies... churro, salted caramel, birthday cake, red velvet and chocolate. I give this little place 5 stars and I haven't even tasted the food yet! This place is on the busy yet quaint main stretch of Madison Ave. in Forest Park and it is ADORABLE! I like the fact they are doing different stuff with dessert and doing dessert mashups like cupcake cookies, pie cookies, stuffed and dipped brownies and all types of crazy fun milk shake combinations! It's also very easy to get to by public transportation. The decor is really good. There is quite a bit of seating and plenty of chairs to go around. The employees ROCK and treat the customers really well. They are friendly, courteous and polite. Definitely a plus to coming here. Now on to the important stuff... the cookies and baked goods.
