Forest Park Bakery is a very solid bakery in the area. You can preorder for events and also holidays. The staff is really nice and I've never had an issue with an order. Their donuts are quite tasty as well as their cookies. I've also tried their custom cupcake orders and the frosting is sweet but not overly cloying like some spots. What a cute little old fashion bakery shop. I tried 3 items. The sweet pretzel twist; It has frosting, almonds, very light raspberry flavor inside (not very sweet), but fun. Pink Frosted Yeast Donut with Sprinkles; fluffy donut and sweet topping, very yummy. Traditional Old Fashion Blueberry Cake Donut; Power punch with this one, the blueberries shine through, and it's perfect . My favorite for sure. They had ample sitting area to dine in and enjoy a coffee or beverage. Good Easter Promos for their Bunny / Egg Cakes. Friendly and kind staff. Definitely give it a try. I pass the bakery often and decided to stop for 1/2 dozen of paczki this morning-- What I observed standing in line --the workers were unfriendly to each other --it's an extremely busy morning when it's paczki day --you will be bumping into each other. The two ladies seemed overwhelmed--when it was my turn I asked for 2 fresh strawberry paczki which I had to repeat since she was having what seem a heated conversation with a co worker--there was no customer appreciation or pleasance from her--strictly business--i left with my order---not much to pick from and all had powdered sugar ---so the paczki was not tasty as I hoped for. Cute store, I had to stop by a work event at Rush Oak Park nearby and went searching for a coffee shop. I didn't even know this quaint old Main-street like complex was here. Somehow this place didn't show up on Google as a coffee shop, though it certainly is one--I made a diversion to check it out based on sight. The staff person was very pleasant and efficient, I picked a pretzel-shaped pastry out that was a nice snack to pick at all day. Iced latte on a warmer day hit the spot as well, just the right amount of ice and milk. read more

Forest Park Bakery is a longtime family-owned bakery that sales custom-decorated cakes, pastries and many other baked goods. I like that this bakery has an old fashioned vibe to it like back in the day. When I walked inside I was greeted with a nice friendly hello and smile. I ordered the oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies & a chocolate and coconut donut. Unfortunately, my cookies were very hard and had a stale taste to them. The donuts could of been a little moist. I'm not sure if the items are freshly baked daily. I arrived around 8:30 AM so I was hoping that my cookies and donuts would be soft and moist. I adore Forest Park bakery. It's a cute local bakery with TONS of options - from pastries, donuts, and bageldogs?! I stop by every once in awhile and am always greeted with friendly, helpful service. I have only done takeout orders, but they do have some seating inside. The pricing is VERY reasonable. I have always been the one waiting in the car when we went here in the past and I was a bit shocked at how small it is inside! It seems so huge from the outside. Hit or miss an inconsistent with their pastries. They're often times very dry and crumbly, but they taste good. Cakes are decent. Chocolate frosting is absolutely excellent. You'll be licking the box like a dirty animal. I would skip the coffee from this place and get it from somewhere that knows how to make it. read more

I just went into Forest Park Bakery after not having been in the area for many years. I picked up a cake chocolate donut that had a fluffy donut and good chocolate topping, but more cake than chocolate. I also purchased a cannoli, which tastes totally like whipped cream as the does texture and color. So, I believe there was either no ricotta or so little it appears and tastes like whip cream. read more
