Beef tartine - A slice of toasted bread topped with chopped herbs and vegetables, wrapped in parchment paper, held outdoors near a street with a crosswalk and a parking meter visible in the background.

Stopped in for a snack because we were waiting for Uncle Mike's Place. We ended up getting the braised beef tartine and it was delicious and really hit the spot. Wish we got their other pastries to try

The quality, service and vibe are amazing and I love this location in the very cool Harrison Arts District, but the prices are quite high for Chicago. I'm used to this in the Bay Area and tried to buy my relative a sandwich, but he refused saying it was much too expensive and he just got a $5 croissant. Sandwiches are $13 half, $25 full. That is pricy. Love the energy of this place though, definitely will come back and grab a sandwich and a bottle of Coke! Cool section where you can buy stuff to take home, too. Sardines! Love it! Thanks for taking my relative's questions about peanut allergy seriously, too. That was awesome.

Went here for the first time today and The Veggie is hands down one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The decaf coffee is delicious, too.

Oh my oh my oh my ..... the whole team here knocked it out of the park today and I can't wait to return!!! Perfect Saturday morning date spot!! Busy and bustling inside, but still felt cozy and chill. Great music. Sunny spot with high and low seating inside plus outdoor seating. Reasonable prices. Free parking. FABULOUS staff- so welcoming and friendly!! We scored an inside table and spilt a piece of strawberry-coconut cake and the most incredible strawberry-lemon curd tarte ever created. Coffee and bottle Coca Colas. Best date I've had in months!! Loved this place so much. I'll definitely be back.

A menu board from Publican Quality Bread in Oak Park, IL, displays bread options such as spence sourdough, sesame sourdough, malted rye, and others, with prices ranging from $2 to $11. The board also lists baguette, demi baguette, and pullman bread. Below the menu, shelves hold packaged loaves of bread, including multigrain and other varieties, wrapped in plastic. The setting appears to be inside the bakery, with a focus on bread products and pricing.

Delicious pastries and coffee! The staff was helpful in their favorites and picking out a nice spread of different flavors. The street parking wasn't too bad nearby their shop in the Arts District - there was a little of a line but not too bad. They have WiFi available as well if you're looking for a spot to sit and wait too!

We went later in the day, and they were out of pretty much everything except their flattop pizzas. Although it was almost closing time, the staff was very friendly and helpful. There are a few seating options inside the place. I ended up getting a matcha latte and thought it was overpriced. Not my cup of tea, but seems to be a local favorite.

Self explanatory with the labels - The image shows a bakery display case filled with assorted baked goods including croissants, bread, and pastries. The items are arranged in rows, with some wrapped in paper. Handwritten labels identify different types of baked goods, such as goat cheese croissants, ham and cheese croissants, and chocolate croissants. The background includes bakery equipment and supplies, with a glass barrier separating the baked goods from customers.

There is inside and outside seating both are comfortable. It is nice to see the baking and food prep while waiting. The ordering process is easy and quick the food came was ready before we paid. The marinated tofu sandwich was full of flavor and stuffed with delicious veggies. The side salads were in to go containers and easy to take what is left over. Everything was fresh and nice flavors throughout.

    Italian sandwich

I ordered few items from Publican including the big Italian, the croissant and the chocolate brioche. I was expecting this to be a great brunch but unfortunately it was not. The sandwich didn't deliver on the flavor. It had a good mix of ingredients but I couldn't really taste something specific so it kinda fell flat for me. The croissant was better but also lacked the authentic croissant flavor. It was more crunchy than flaky and when it wasn't sweet or salty so again fell flat. The chocolate brioche was the star of the show as it was great in flavor and sweetness and it is the reason I bumped this into three stars and not two. Given the prices and the reputation of this bakery I was hoping for something better than was provided.

Ham and cheese croissant, almond croissant, chocolate croissant and monkey bread!

Great for delivery. Really fast and fresh. All three people were happy with their choices. Glad they opened a place in Oak Park

It was perfect for a quick bite. There were amazing baked goods on display and we chose the kale salad scone, rosemary apricot scone, and pimento biscuit sandwich. All baked goods are beautiful and generously sized. All were delicious and unique. The cafe also has a full compliment of coffee drinks, but as it was a hot day we chose iced tea. I had an Arnold Palmer. There is self serve water as well. The selection is limited to baked goods only. We didn't try the cookies or cakes, but they looked amazing. The cafe has both indoor and outdoor seating in a small area surrounding potted plants making for an inviting setting with limited space. The staff are efficient and calm. If there is a line, as we were told there usually is, it moves quickly. I recommend this spot for a sweet or savory bite.

The location is probably the only issue I have because it's not close to me and their is always traffic. The sweet and savory cornbread biscuits are the best textured goods I have ever had. Soft on the inside with crunch on the outside and full of flavor. I prefer the sweet personally with the butter and homemade jam. The scones are a second favorite of mine with the newest addition of blue cheese, bacon, and sage being my favorite. A second would be the kale and cheddar. The BT Latte is also a staple for me with their homemade cinnamon coconut syrup. Just go already.

So the first time I came in to give them a try I got a cupcake and croissant warm, my wife got a fancy coffee and some egg thing. She was happy with her order other than the iced coffee came hot.. so not really what she ordered after the long wait we didn't want to wait any longer. My order on the other hand was quite a disappointment, to me a fresh croissant should be light flaky and fluffy hot. This one .. this one was more like it was made at a beef shop it was flatted out and soggy.. I think it was over cooked in the electro zapper.. aka the food killer microwave.. just what I wanted to over pay for some microwaved slab of dough..thanks.. Now.. let's get to the second chance before reviews.. Wife ordered an iced coffee, I ordered a few donut holes.. The vanilla glazed was a wreck, dried out, stale, hard.. this should have been tossed out.. Let's try the chocolate.. meh, almost dried as bad but the after taste was meh.. like cooking oil. My wife's coffee showed up hot.. after like 15 minutes wait.. overall this place is meh.. should have stuck with Starbucks or Dunkin even..
