I want to pick up a Billie Eillish theme cake that I have seen on google bc my gf is obsessed with her and though it wasn't the exact same thing, Cake Bros still did a really good job. However when we cut the cake and I took a bite of it, it seemed that the inside of the cake had a lot of icing layers and less of the yellow cake inside. I'm talking about maybe 1/4" of icing which was too much and I wasn't getting enough of the yellow cake. It was still good and my gf loved it, but a little too much icing for my taste. read more

Quite possibly one of the most mismanaged businesses in the western suburbs. I ordered a cake less than 48 hours ago. The event canceled and so when I tried to cancel the cake, which cost me $95, I was assessed a 15% fee. When I asked what the fee was for I was told it was for the time it took to write up the order in the paper that the order was written on. I was also told that no refunds could be executed via the telephone so I had to drive approximately 25 miles into the store to cancel my order. Only to be met with a $14 charge. Samantha, a.k.a. the manager, gave me a blank stare and simply said "We did nothing wrong. " My advice? Avoid doing business with this bakery. read more

Was told about this place from a friend so decided to try it out because the pictures online looked great. When I started to sliced the cake the inside looked a mess. Slices were difficult to serve and you cant tell layers apart. Top layer you can see its in pieces and felt like I needed abowl instead of a plate. Would of let it go if the inside made up for it but it didnt taste like anything only good thing was the buttercream. Recommend to have them decorate a box for displaying only because the inside was terrible! read more

I came to this bakery and had been ordering cakes often and also referrals and even ordering for others and then the last time i was there the way i was treated was not very nice. I had ordered a cake went over the order even looked at pictures on the sales persons phone for a a cake with a Latino princess and i had ordered it a week prior for a pick up on 15th because i was out of state and wanted to make sure it was ready because i would only have have enough time to pick it up and get it to the party. Well I walk in and all it said was happy birthday in red and it looked like it was just written on there quick and I am sorry I could have wrote it on there myself and just bought the cake on the spot . I talked to them about where is the princess and the owner would not listen that it was not on the paper and i said it is not my fault that it was not done. He would not listen then the one thing he said give him 20 min but as i explained i didn't have that time that is why i ordered it a week ahead .I told the owner i give him a lot of business and he really didn't care and you owner that is not how you treat a customer and it really is a shame because i work for a big business have friends who own businesses and church groups who i get things for so it is not just the cost of that one cake you lost ,you lost so much more and you broke a little girls heart! I will tell you that the nurse who works there i enjoy but, just because you own a business dosen't mean you treat a loyal customer this way. I owned businesses and would not ever treat a customer like i was treated. The worse part is the little girl with no bakery cake. I had to get a cake for a birthday/gender reveal. I came in to made the order on Thursday night. The 2 women who were there Thursday were very helpful. They helped me put the cake together. They gave me suggestions on what would look good and what wouldn't, as I am not a cake designer. I spent way more than I was expecting to pay for the cake, but it was sooo worth it. The cake turned out amazing, just what I wanted and more. And it tasted good! I picked up the cake on Saturday and I ended up getting more than a dozen variety of their cookies. Admittedly I didn't get to sample any of their day to day production of pastries (mostly Mexican pastries like conchas, cuernitos, polvorones etc.) BUT, I went there because I wanted to get my dad a nice and fancy and "different" cake and this place did not disappoint. I got my dad a pina colada tres leches cake. I also saw that they sell individual slices too. I love that they have modernized a lot of the traditional "cake" formulas in Hispanic pastry. I was especially delighted to see that they take their work so very seriously that they have a book collection on a shelf with a ton of sticky notes (I'm just really observant) Also, I bought a two cute little cow cake pops and a self-served chocolate Abuelita. It's amazing they're delivering during COVID-19-they're delivery was very on time and their hospitality was amazing (they gave a few extra of what I ordered). The conchas were some of the best I've ever had--extremely soft but not too spongy, excellent texture, and not too sweet. Sometimes conchas can be too sweet or dry, but these were perfect and very fresh. Such a reasonable price too! read more

Today I experienced my first issue with Cake Bros. I've utilized this company a number of times for different events. This pass week I placed a order to pick up today October 24th @2pm, upon arriving I was told my cake order was not yet ready. To give them another 15 minutes. After waiting 30 minutes I walked back in to the establishment, 10 minutes later 2:42pm I was giving the cake. I looked over the cake for spell check abs neatness. I then noticed the cake was rushed. The icing was sloppy ,uneven, and the edible print out were faded (their machine must be running out of ink) and cut uneven. OVERALL RUSHED. Politely We then informed the lady all of the issues spotted. Also while asking for a manager on hand, then asked what would I like to be done. We then told her my nephews party started at 3, so remaking the cake wouldn't be an option if they could give us partial refund. She said they can't give us a partial refund, if we would like a refund they could give a full refund in store credit but we couldn't take the cake. I then proceeded to let her know as a consumer placing herself in our shoes what do she feel like the best Accomodation would be. She said she don't know. A Lie! Moral to this story is I wouldn't be doing business nor recommending cake bros EVERA again because their could have been a similar accommodation done from issues in their end and as a business owner. Your main priority should be customer satisfaction because you are a consumer as well outside of your business. Also we never spoke to a manager and although we aren't at a total lost because we still took the cake. We are at a lost because we didn't receive the top tier experience we were looking for. read more

The cookies i got last Saturday were awesome!!! I've gotten cakes that were equally awesome ! !! HOWEVER customer service is really lacking! ! There were 5 tiny girls picking up a giant cake. ..and the woman was not phased enough to offer another baker to help them get the cake to the car. So my husband took their cake to their car. And then baker was "which cookies do you want?", "what else?", "how many more?"... so i got my cookies n was on my way without so much as a smile nor see you soon nor come back again. .. Ordered a Crayola themed cake showed the lady pictures of how I wanted it paid for it in full then go to pick the cake up and it's noting what I ask for and everything I wanted was on the order sheet including my number not one time did they call to tell me they couldn't do color cake or to tell me they was changing my colors of the cake when I specifically wrote down 4 colors to use over the entire cake They even made so many other mistakes with printing the pictures on the fondue was faded and they put my baby name on the cake twice WHY ??
