Has a nice crunch for the sweetness. and yes, it's sweet! $2.99 for a large portion you can easily share, yes! The shop is nice and the girls were also polite and nice. They take cash & card. They are located in a busy area and open at 4am. The large Walgreens is just across the street to the West , they are open 24hrs. I have gone in to place order and that took 10 minutes for them to attend me. Once the order was placed I decided to get bread meanwhile, until a customer told us that she saw our order being done and we went up to the counter just so the employee can tell us to get back in line and wait another 10-20 minutes. When getting to the cashier box we had mentioned to her that we were waiting and that we never heard her call out our order. Gloria Martinez, called us a lier and continued with smart comments. I just ordered Milanesa de Pollo sandwich. The chicken was so dried out , it honestly had the consistency of beef jerky! The bread and veggies, avocado were very fresh and tasty though, but I just couldn't get past the dry rawhide of the chicken! The rosca de Reyes from this bakery is AMAZING! I'm super picky about rosca and it not being to dry, too hollow, etc. This rosca has so much flavor and is soft and in no way dry. I would have to say this is THE BEST rosca I've ever had! They now also have a stuffed rosca, one with a sweet cream cheese type and the other is stuffed with strawberry. The main reason I come to Aracely's is for the tamales and champurrado. They have different kinds of tamales: chicken in green salsa, chicken in red salsa, pork in green salsa and pork in red salsa. They also have a rajas con queso (strips of peppers and cheese) one. I like the chicken ones because the spiciness level is just right. The champurrado is also really good. It's a thick, hot, yummy, chocolate...we're still talking about chamourrado, right??? Haha.. I gave 'em 4 stars because the tamales could be pricey. I think they're 19.99 a dozen. The tres leches was very dry it was just a regular white cake with whipped topping... flan was okay nothing special, got about 6 different pastries from donuts, brownies to cookies and all of them was old and almost fully hard. Fast service, friendly staff, and they package nicely in a box. I like that they offer different options: chicken versus pork green sauce versus red sauce spicy versus regular or mild. I was ordering a cake for my sons birthday after so many mistakes that she kept putting on the slip at the end I specifically told her that I wanted the cake white with blue because it was a cake for a boy. When my husband picked up the cake and brought it home the cake was yellow. My son hates yellow. His favorite color is blue and if I'm paying for a service I expect it to be correct. I called right away and the manager said they can't do anything but refund $10. So now I have to take a yellow cake because it's too late to buy a new cake when I need it in the next 45 minutes. This bakery is known for delicious Mexican bread, champurrado, and tamales. However they have lost me and several others as customers for charging $28.74 per dozen of tamales. Not including taxes. They're charging rates as if it they were located in the Lincoln Park area, and at Christmas time in Cicero- most people are unable to afford those rates. read more
