Recently I finally got the chance to check out Sip & Savor. This one located in Bronzeville has a very cozy & welcoming vibe when you come in. From the unique art of historic black figures, to the hard working baristas that make you feel right at home. Me and my gf ordered the Honey Lavender latte, Apple Pie latte, Carrot muffin, Apple danish, and the turkey breakfast sandwich. Everything was delicious. I've been eager to visit Sip and Savor for quite some time. The buzz on the street is that this is a cool place for great coffee/tea, remote working, and socializing...the buzz was right! I went on a Monday afternoon; it was full but not crowded. I was able to grab a table with no problem. The first thing I noticed was all the beautiful art depicting our culture's finest. I ordered a muffin and latte, which were excellent. The price was fair and the young lady behind the counter was very pleasant. I fell in love with the music that was playing, and it was the right volume to allow for concentration (working remotely) when needed. I wish they stayed open beyond 3pm as my work day ends at 4pm, but I will definitely be back! read more

This place is so nice and quiet in a neighborhood that is full of history. The barista was amazing!! He definitely fulfill the orders in such a timely manner. Came in and felt so welcome and could see why it seems so hidden. There's a lot of Sip & Savor around but this place felt like a community. The speciality drinks are a bit on the sweet side but they have the all time classics as well. The staff is helpful and super friendly. For years, I had gone to the location in Hyde Park. It is a very popular spot and tends to pack out quickly. The location in Bronzeville on 43rd Street is laid back and spacious enough that patrons are not on top of each other. I appreciate not feeling rushed wherever I sit to enjoy my coffee while reading or working on my laptop. Service is always welcoming and the coffee is well worth the visit. A very clean and nicely decorated place to enjoy a cup of coffee. Visited this establishment yesterday morning (meet and greet) ugh!!! I digress, and was happy to walk in and be greeted by the gentleman behind the counter. I asked for the infamous large caramel coffee and a banana nut muffin. Sorry I didn't pay so I can't speak about pricing. I did notice the small drinks were listed as $4.50 and I heard him tell the gentleman the muffin was $4.00. So I guess I can speak about pricing. Lol The ambiance is inviting, with rustic looking tiles on the ceiling, hand painted black art throughout the seating area, cool light fixtures and distressed wood panels on the wall. My daughter asked if we could patronize a black owned business while I was on vacation and I immediately thought of Sip & Savor. We went to the Hyde Park location but couldn't find parking so we came here. There's easy parking on both sides of the street and beautiful artwork on the walls like the other locations too. They have so many choices but I decided on an iced French vanilla latte. It was delicious! My daughter had some kind of blended drink and she loved it. The lady who served us was not aware of the offer on Yelp for 15% off a $10 purchase but the owner was there and he graciously honored it for us. He invited us to check out the newly opened patio, so we did. It is lovely! No one else was out there at the time so we really enjoyed it. They have ample seating inside too, even during this pandemic. We signed up for their rewards program and it looks like great offers. I only wish we lived closer! This location is a short walk from the "L" at 43rd St. off of the Green line and a cool spot for meeting in this part of Bronzeville without the hustle and bustle. They serve coffee and espresso drinks, but also milkshakes with a shot of espresso which they call a smoothie. On a hot summer day in Chicago, I could see myself ordering one of their smoothies while having a seat on their patio located in the back of the coffee shop. The atmosphere, in general, is pretty standard with a long, one sided booth, tables, and chairs. They also have seating at the bar which is convenient and a couple of cozy chairs to use while reading a book next to a faux fireplace. read more

After attending this store for some years, I noticed the quality, customer service, and overall experience has downgraded for me. A few times, I informed the baristas of seeing roaches on the countertops or floors. The coffee doesn't taste like it used to, and it's weird since they upgraded their prices and will have you paying near $10 for some coffee with any additonals. Trez, the CEO, has came in a few times while I was there and will acknowledge people whom he knows and no one else. It's so unfortunate as their whole slogan is where "coffee and community meets," but now he's prioritizing profit over anything else. Will never come back read more

The atmosphere is a perfect coffee house vibe, with comfy chairs for relaxing, bar stools for snacking, and traditional tables and chairs if you want to work remotely. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the coffee and tea selections are vast. You can even grab a little something to eat while you're there. This location is located next to a pop-up park that'll be a perfect spot to relax once spring has sprung. read more

Well run local black owned business with 3 locations: 1 in Hyde Park and 2 in Bronzeville (47th and Michigan; and 43rd and just east of King). This one on 43rd is my favorite because it is the coziest, offers indoor and outdoor seating, and is the closet to my house. Thus far I have visited about 10 times ( just started checking in on Yelp) and plan to continue coming. Located a few minutes walk from the Green Line or a minutes bike ride from the protected bike lanes on King, Sip and Savor is rather unpretentious and offers exactly what you expect from a local coffee shop. Really no more and no less. I usually go for the drip coffee or the hot tea with lemon and honey (they always get the ratios on point for this). But I have seen them make espresso drinks and more complex beverages before and the baristas appear to be knowledgeable and skilled. They also offer a small variety of local pastries like scones, red velvet cake, and birdie bars for purchase. To my knowledge, however, no food is made on site so if you are looking for a breakfast to go with your coffee I recommend eating somewhere else first (maybe peaches on 47th, just sayin' ) I have always experienced really high quality WiFi which makes Sip&Savor a good place to be productive. WiFi code is provided at the bottom of your receipt, however, so you must make a purchase in order to use it. What I really like about this location is the variety in seating. There is a set of couches in an open area underneath a large window to let the light in this area is flanked by beautiful Afrocentric art pieces. Main seating is a large leather bench along the walk with tables and a chair on the opposite side and there is an outdoor patio for the summer. I would recommend umbrellas though to provide shade especially for laptop users. In terms of people: I have never encountered any staff who have behaved unprofessionally or rudely. They always take my order pretty promptly and are responsive when I need something. Despite the location being away from the main strip I have run into local government officials, school board members, PhD candidates, and other pretty cool people here who are generally kind enough to share an outlet or scoot over on the bench. The addition which has inspired me to return more often despite living in Wicker Park is Krystal. As a leader and manager, she is best part of the morning for me. Professionally, I have held meet ups for my Sociology 101 college students, major network meetings, and even Board of Directors meetings and our superstar Krystal has been a gem for us. I will attempt not to delve into hyperbole, but I truly love this spot. When I first heard about Sip & Savor, an up and coming Black-owned coffee shop on the South Side of Chicago, I had to visit. When I say this is a classy establishment, I mean it in every sense of the word. I was welcomed by the heavenly aroma of fresh coffee and met with table after table of young professionals making plans, old friends catching up, and coffee aficionados sipping their new favorite brew. The staff is incredibly friendly and engaging. The walls are decorated with art by talented locals and greatly enhance the vibe. I'd honestly like to shake the manager's hand, but they're always so busy. That's a wonderful problem to have. My only conflict here is I equally love the Hyde Park location. Since I visited this one first, they get the glowing review. I'll be visiting both, frequently, as long as they're around. Do yourself a favor and do the same. read more

I have been a long standing customer of Sip& Savor but I am thoroughly disappointed with the way the management has handled the glitch problem with their app. It now takes your money from your credit card and will NOT allow you to spend the money that you have put on your wallet in their app. I have had almost $40.00 for over TWO MONTHS that I am unable to access. I am appalled at the length of time of what I thought was an upstanding business to rectify this issue. I am not the only one. Fix it or return your customers money. It would be Unacceptable at any other establishments and it should be Unacceptable at yours. I will say this, your products are delicious but this is bad. read more

The prices are reasonable and the kiwi pear green tea I had was fantastic. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because it was an it chilly in there and the cashier totally forgot about my order and I waited (after I paid) for 20 mins for my drink and bagel and had to go up and ask about it. You will not experience the noisy traffic like you do at other coffee houses. I love the various artwork displayed throughout the shop. The drink menu is easy to follow and has a great layout. This establishment has a coffee bar. There were only a handful of desserts and pastries available. The barista was very nice and greeted me when I enter the establishment. This venue accepts credit cards. I also saw sitting out in the back. I ordered a medium raspberry white mocha with a extra shot which was delicious. So this is one of my new favorite coffee shops in Bronzeville. It has a great local vibe from the art work and decor to the friendliness of the staff. So far I've been twice and I love the sausage breakfast sandwich. The croissant was fresh and flaky and he sausage was very flavorable. As far as the coffee goes I've tried the Mocha Frappe and the Carmel Frappe (Royale). Both were great and refreshing. They have 2 drinks sizes for the blended drinks but both are satisfying for the price. They also have a rewards program and app you can download on your phone to build up rewards. Absolutely love this place. When I need to get some work done and still have a warm and inviting atmosphere this is my go to spot. Sip n Savor offer coffee, teas, smoothies and different pastries. I enjoy the teas haven't indulged in the coffees but not a fan of most coffee offerings. If you are looking for a chill location to meet and get work done or meet a business associate this is a perfect location because for the most part is relatively quiet except for soft music in the background. Not 5 stars because they are charging 50 cent extra for honey. Umm I'm sorry most coffee shops have honey at your disposal to sweeten to your taste. Just WOW! After being told that we would be receiving a discounted hourly rate because we are a CPS school by one manager, another manager trumped that manager and said she could not honor a discount, which was only $50. Updated post-they have done a lot of changes since my previous post a year ago;however, the customer service here is underwhelming. I feel I am treated better at other coffee shops. Love this place. First, and most importantly, there are some great coffee options. I had a German Chocolate Mocha something and it actually tasted like German Chocolate cake with a coffee kick. Came once early Sunday with the Family and grabbed I've grabbed some Egg and cheese and Turkey sausage bagels/sandwiches and we all really enjoyed em.
