Coffee is par for SBUX, service is above par. The recent remodel is puzzling. There's less space, fewer tables, less comfortable seating, harsh direct overhead lighting that complicates seeing a laptop screen. The ambiance is a mix of office drones, noisy toddlers, and (after 2pm) middle-school cafeteria. So, not my favorite co-working space, though I keep trying due to proximity. One more thing. Despite lack of enforcement, it's still a health code violation to welcome dogs into establishments that serve food. One woman was cradling her dog OVER THE COUNTER in one hand, using her spare hand to rummage through the drinks and food for her order. I love dogs. I have a dog. No egg nog lattes. Still. SMH For 5 years Starbucks has not brought back the eggnog latte. They say it's because the eggnog goes bad lol. Maybe if they hired someone who understands supply and demand, they could forecast inventory. Just like soy milk. Just like oat milk. Just like almond milk. Or just like chestnut praline coffee syrup. Or just like snowman cookies. Or just like breakfast sandwiches. Or - should I go on? And every year, the staff members at this location, particularly the female staff, get an attitude like suggesting the most popular drink during the holidays is included on the menu. Making it obvious they get asked 25 times a day. They even post immature videos on instagram of staff reenacting themselves responding to a customer who had the idiotic idea to request an eggnog latte in December. It would be safer to suggest they go to a gym. read more

Ordered a tall flat white which is expresso & steamed milk only and instead got a bunch of foam and less than 4 oz. of liquid. A tall is 8 oz and the cup can hold even more. Either the barista is not paying attention to the label on the cup, or they need to be retrained how to make the different drinks. Went in here on Sunday morning to do some work (and to avoid the office setting) and this place was great. The only downside (which I'll put first) is the service isn't overly friendly, but that could have been because it was 9am too. The service was quick and efficient and got the orders in and out..which can sometimes be a hit and miss in Chicago Starbucks. They are often understaffed and slow, but this one had four people working, which was great. The atmosphere was great. Brick walls, great art, and a cool, vintage phone booth in one corner. The tables also had tabletop chargers that work for any device (Apple, Samsung, Lenovo, etc). It's great for working with a couple of devices at once so you can get work done without so many wires all over. Great Starbucks..if only all of them were like this. read more

Love the atmosphere of this location. Fireplace is nice, plenty of seating, music isn't overpowering. Not a fan of staff kicking everyone out 10 minutes early so they can go out on a date. I stop in to this location probably twice a week when I am down the street visiting my local chiropractor. The scary or nice thing is even though I only go there twice a week a few of the baristas/employees already remember my name and my drink. That's always a nice thing or is that a sad thing that I spend so much cash on coffee. Who cares as a shareholder I am only adding to the bottom line. The space is always clean although I find the brick wall and pillar in the center of the space awkward to get around to get into line to order. Parking is street and is usually very easy to find when they are not doing construction. read more

This Starbucks was once a diner (confirmed by Winter from http://www.starbuckseverywhere.net/). This location has all the great elements that you could want: booths, oversided chairs, a fireplace, exposed brick, tables/workspaces, and a fairly friendly staff (check out my posted pictures). The 3 times that I've been there the employees were friendly and after my drink was made engaged in small talk with me. This store is one of the most unique in terms of design space and elements. Well worth the trip and the metered parking. read more

What better way to get to review #100 than to review a Starbucks in a city I'd never been to? Yeah, you can find a Starbucks practically everywhere on Earth these days, and I apologize for not seeking out a cool local Chicago coffeehouse, but sometimes you're in the area, you spot the green siren, and you just have to go in for your fix. In this case, we were in the area and had about a half-hour to kill. This is a pretty cool Starbucks - I don't think any within a 200 mile radius of my home are decked out with brick, nor do I think any of those feature a big old-school telephone booth functioning as a community board. There's a lot of seating, and the windows offer a good view of the street. Even with all the large tables, the place was jammed - everyone had a laptop out, doing whatever. This location would definitely be a good one for serving as your "branch office." Service was competent, a refreshing change from some of the dull high-school kids and hood rats that the 'Bucks at home seems increasingly predisposed to hiring. I'd have to say that in the realm of chain coffeehouses, this is about as good as it gets. Hence this is me dropping yet another 5-star review. I'm beginning to think I'm an easy touch. read more

While only a couple of employees are great, this is probably one of the least memorable Starbucks I've regularly attended over the years. One time, I walked up to the register, and the lady did NOT even notice I was standing there 10 feet away. Her head was down, and she was staring at her phone. I stood there for a good 30 seconds. Finally, she looked up and acted as if it was no big deal. I smiled and laughed a little after she asked, "What'd you want?" The last straw for me is the recent change in hours. Abruptly, they cut their closing times on Fridays and Saturdays from 9pm to 7:30pm, and 8:30pm respectively. While I already thought it was odd they closed at 9pm, I understand Fridays & Saturdays are likely slow nights, but so much for me wanting to get a cup of joe, sit and do research. No Starbucks I've ever lived by closes this early. Even the starbucks in the suburbs stay open later than this one on those nights. It's worth the trip to the one on Western & Addison, or Paulina & Roscoe. read more

I'm in love with Starbucks. Every morning I buy a green tea latte, which is the best tea latte I ever had. It's so addictive plus the pumpkin spice latte, only for the season is great! Maybe this is just the highlight of the parents' in the neighborhood's week to come here with screaming children in what I consider to be an adult meeting space/workspace. I just can't really come here without getting highly irritated at the blatant disregard for others and the hot drinks that are around. Children should not be allowed to run around in here like I constantly see them doing. Please someone open up another coffee shop on Roscoe. read more

Ducked into this Starbuck's while Retro on Roscoe was trying to get itself started. Despite the fact that it was after starting time, there wasn't a beverage or any kind of food to be had. I was starving and thirsty, so glad to find that this Starbucks wasn't crowded. It's a spacious one, well designed and pleasant to be in. More and more, Starbucks are starting to feel my indy and not so institutionally. I changed my order and the server was really gracious about it. I loved the egg feta wrap I had for breakfast. I wanted to be selfish and give this 1 star to keep this Sbux gem all to myself. But I just can't do it b/c it's awesome! I love local, independent coffee shops, but Starbucks are like Corollas---there's one on every block and they never let you down. I'm a proud Gold Card member at Starbucks, and frequently get pumpkin lattes, peppermint mochas, hazelnut lattes--um basically the entire menu. *I like THIS Starbucks in particular b/c it truly has a neighborhood feel unlike many of the other Sbuxes. A good amount of seating, ranging from booths, to study tables, to cozy chairs. A wonderful place to study. Friendly employees and free wi-fi as well. I highly recommend this Starbucks--just don't go telling too many of your friends! =P read more

A good Starbucks, in fact one of the best I've been to. I like the layout, fireplace and cushy seating. I especially like that there are nice big booths to spread out and get some work done. People come to this location for 1 of 2 reasons. The first is to get some work done, many people stay for hours studying/working. The second reason is a mom destination. There are tons of babies and toddlers here, but I haven't seen any out of control or disruptive kids so I don't mind all the kids. The employees are not very friendly or talkative which is fine because they are good at getting through a long line quickly. Oh and this is a busy Starbucks, sometimes it's difficult finding seating. read more

It's Starbuck's. If you don't know what a Starbuck's is like, then you probably don't know what Yelp is, so I don't know how you are reading this. Anyway, this is a Starbuck's, nothing fancy, somewhat small, but with decent seating. The staff is really great. Also coincidentally good for dog watching. People are almost always walking some small dog outside. I think it's because the small dogs need a Mocha Latte to keep their quivering up. read more

Me? Reviewing a Starbucks? There must be something amiss. But no, this Starbucks is worth reviewing. It is the nicest Starbucks I've ever been to. It's clean, peaceful with the several people studying, yet roomy enough to have a nice conversation around those keeping quiet. It's decor has personality such as a marble bar with swivel stools, big and cushy booths, plush over sized chairs, and local art. And, the green tea latte I ordered was the best green tea latte I've ever had. read more

So, here is the deal. I live in Old Irving Park and my closest Starbucks is a 5 minute walk. THIS is not my closest Starbucks. However, this is MY Starbucks. I drive to this location at least once a week and sit in their comfy booths and work for hours. I love to watch the various people walk in and out of the door and I love how spacious this place is. The staff is friendly and they are always having a lot of fun. MY Starbucks actually made me want to know about Roscoe Village. Maybe one day MY Starbucks will be a 5 minute walk...you never know. read more

This Starbucks is conveniently located one block away from my job. It's always super clean and has your typical Starbucks vibe. Everyone I've encountered there has been very friendly but Nola is my favorite. She makes the best drinks, she is a sweetheart and she made my day today. She knows my favorite drink is the salted caramel mocha Frappuccino and this Starbucks is the only one that still has the sea salt although it's only a seasonal item. I'm sure it will eventually run out but she was super helpful and explained the perks of the Starbucks app to me. I recommend everyone have My girl Nola take care of them, she's the best barista ever read more

Starbucks is great. Though some of my friends say that Starbucks lack a bit aroma, I still love it. Soy milk Latte is my favorite drink when I need to warm up in winter, Vanilla bean frappuccino is my favorite drink on a hot summer day. Even when i need energy before a long day at work I get a cup of coffee here. You can get here many different coffee related goods. From cups, mugs and souvenirs, everything smells like coffee here. Being that this is my local Starbucks I sadly will most likely be returning in the future. I would like to start with the music played in this Starbucks is always overpowering loud and not relaxing. My major complaint is about the one bald male barista who always has an attitude and has made me fear ordering at this location. I even walked in one afternoon noticing that he was working and turned around and walked out due to the fact I have never had a positive experience with this moody barista that seems to hate his job and customers. I went to the Starbucks today and asked Barista Brittany for a tray for my coffee as I had multiple coffees. She basically told me to reach behind the counter and grab my own drink tray. I ordered 2 egg white and they took forever to come. My coffee was getting cold waiting as long as I did. The staff was talking and goofing around and not paying attention to the customers that were patronizing their store. I have always had bad experiences in this store. I live in the neighborhood but with the lack of friendliness, customer service, and the long waiting times I will take my business elsewhere. read more

I had a feeling with the rushed attitude of the barista on the phone that my two boxes of coffee (daughter's school event) would not be ready at pick-up time. I was right. This Starbucks coffee shop is a little bit different from others. It has a bricks wall which I have never seen before. And when I came in the and start working it was just calm and nice. even there were a lot of noises around me I didn't hear them. I was so into my work that no one could interrupt me. I spend a great amount of time for myself and my work there and I enjoyed it. even if I worked the whole time I felt relaxed after I was done. Plus the amazing Iced Caramel Latte made my day even better! read more
