I really love going here to work on things I need to get done. The location alone I think is so cute since it's in this little square with an outdoor patio when it's nice out. This is a fantastic coffee shop on the north side of the city. I stopped here during a bike ride and they have a big patio that was great to relax on. I had a simple drip coffee that was flavorful with a lot of bite. The service was extremely friendly - the baristas offered to bring my coffee out to the patio as he could see that I didn't want to leave my bike alone while ordering. Do stop-in! read more

Guess what the atmosphere is like at this cafe. It's charming so they're being truthful. Charmers Cafe is located in Rogers Park close to the Jarvis CTA station and a few other bars and restaurants around. Looks pretty quiet and it is. This makes a good place for a relaxing breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Came here from off the train and we got some breakfast. It was actually also serving lunch. That means we got both, so we could see the full range. It's about $4 for a latte. They have several non dairy milks including sesame. Good shit and it's healthier. The lunch menu has more choices for vegetarians. I got the Veg Head. It's about $10 for a pretty big sandwich. This came with carrots, cucumbers, hummus, onions, spinach, and tomatoes. Also has a choice of a side, and I got it with chips. The sandwich was a good size for lunch but we ended up not being so full for once. Healthy options for the morning or afternoon. It's not open for later. There's breakfast stuff including eggs plus options for vegans and vegetarians. read more

They have a wide selection of coffees, teas, and other drinks and lite breakfast fare to help you while the time away. I got the egg sandwich, which was pretty simple - fried egg, white cheddar, english muffin. Small, but tasty. Just enough to fill my belly but not make me sleep as I watched out the window as the denizens of North Chicago got to where they were going. This place is on an adorable corner with lots of flowers and cute patio seating. The lavender lemonade and 24oz dirty chai were super refreshing. Bummed they were out of the potatoes for the breakfast bowls. Sammy's we're good but not super filling. Service was nice and they brought our food and drinks out to us. outside of 1 person who works here, the staff is usually very kind, all know me by name (as a regular), good at their jobs and have great customer service skills. they are not at all the reason i'm giving 1 star. i'm giving one star because i cannot believe that my SMALL iced latte with oat milk, vanilla, and lavender syrup costs me $10+ (~ $12-13 post tip) and that these baristas only make $13/hr. it's heinous and a shame that the owners of this establishment don't respect their wonderful staff enough to pay them an even somewhat livable wage. especially when my $15 turkey sandwich i get here sometimes costs more money than the employee who made it makes in an hour... it just doesn't make sense. either decrease your pricing so people in ROGERS PARK (neighborhood of more lower income folks than not) can afford to tip your staff more OR allocate more of your pocketed funds as owners to support your employees by increasing their pay. it's disgusting. (and i sincerely hope they strike if you don't, because $13/hr? that's absolutely sinister) read more

I have ordered a blackberry jalapeño lemonade and a drip coffee. Both were reasonably priced and had good taste. I tend to prefer a bit of a stronger flavor, but they were definitely worth it, and I would order them again. Note: It is not super obvious where to order when you first walk in. Great local cafe with awesome coffee and snacks. They have indoor and outdoor seating, which is perfect for the nice spring/ summer days.

The decor of this place was worth the visit alone! On top of food and drinks, they have a little shopping selection that I was able to buy a house plant from! I got the cookies and cream cold brew (delicious) and the Fancy Breakfast Sandwich (was okay but I'd recommended adding bacon if you eat meat). My boyfriend got the Chimchurri Sandwhich (super good!!) and a black coffee (good). We shared the Chocolate Peanut Butter Oatmeal (literally to die for ). Only gave a 4/5 because my breakfast sandwich wasn't anything spectacular... but overall a great spot. read more

This place has awesome things going for it. The coffee here is decent. It doesn't take too long for my order to come out. I love their walk up window. A big outdoor seating area. They even sell plants in the springtime and pumpkins around Halloween. My only qualm about this spot is that a few times now when Ive grabbed something from the walk up window with my dog the female employees have acted very rude and unreasonably terrified toward my dog. My dog is friendly and well mannered so how I've been treated is completely unwarranted. Everyone else has been so friendly and hospitable so it keeps me coming back. Charmers - I don't think you should be hiring people who don't like dogs to work the to go window, no offense. read more

Coffee tastes great but over 20 dollars for 2 iced mochas is a little excessive. Over 1.00 up charge for an extra syrup and over 1.00 for changing milk? The mocha is already priced at 7.50 which is already a fair price. Way too expensive for me to justify going back. read more

Very charming cafe with a fitting name. Plenty of seating, strong wifi, good service, and tasty drinks. I got a matcha latte with sesame milk. Very cool that they had sesame milk (it's good!), but bummed that it was a +$1 upcharge. I suppose that is about par for the course, unfortunately. The matcha latte was pretty good. Not overly sweet, and up there with some of the better matchas I have had in the city. Base price was $4.75 (+$1 for alternative milk) for the smallest size so not too bad! The decor is cute, and there is cool seating. They serve food here. While tempting, I did not try any, so I cannot comment. They music is a little loud, so you might have a hard time taking meetings or hearing anything without solid headphones/ Overall I like the vibe here a lot and would come back. read more

Cute shop in Jarvis Square. Music is a little loud, but cute atmosphere. I have been here twice and ordered an iced caramel latte with oatmilk; both times it was made just the way I like. I would say the price for an iced latte is reasonable but the additional charge for oatmilk and additional charge for caramel flavor make a the coffee around $7 which seems like a lot for 16oz. read more

I love charmers. It's great to live a short walk away from such a cute coffee shop. The coffee is good, and the pastries are as well. I've only tried their turkey sandwich so far out of all of their lunch sandwiches, but it is pretty good. They have great breakfast sandwiches also. Their chai latte is one of my favorites. Great in the fall when it's a bit chilly. I love the cold brew or an iced latte in the summer. Everyone who works there is very friendly, it's a welcoming place with a great atmosphere. I want to like this place, on the few occasions I've been here and when assisted by young white adults I get either ignored or my order is forgotten and I have to remind them of my order. I'm trying to understand why? And not make it a race issue or gender issue. It happens often for me. I come here about once a month. The most recent visit was disappointing. My friend asked for three things that were listed on the menu yet weren't available. When I asked if soup--on the menu but not available--was a seasonal thing, the server didn't know. They didn't have one of teas on the menu. No ham sandwich either. My friend is older and requested a paper menu--again, they had none. The cashier said they were being printed but that didn't help the friend. My iced tea was very weak, almost like water, which made me think they just tossed it into the glass. I'll give them another chance, but it seems like they need to try a bit harder. Despite the very nice folks working here, this cafe unfortunately suffers from the all-too-common problem of not knowing how to properly make coffee drinks. I ordered a cappuccino for which I was charged nearly $6. Confused, I asked what size cup they were planning on using and was told 16 oz!! A cappuccino is at most a 6 to 8 oz drink. When I asked for the smaller size after explaining that I didn't want a large cup of warm milk, they gave me a 12 oz cup containing what most people would call a latte. While I appreciate the laudable attempt by one person working there to explain ratios to me (forgetting the espresso part of the equation), it would have been better for them have actually made a proper cappuccino. If you want a properly-made cappuccino, latte, macchiato, or whatever in the Rogers Park neighborhood, Sol on Howard is by far your best option. If they happen to be closed (as they were on this fine day), you're better off making coffee at home then going Charmers' way. read more

LOVE. THIS. PLACE. Charming baristas, great homemade food and pastries, coffee sips smoothly in both light and dark roasts, all the coffee-bar drinks you could imagine, of course. The ambiance, is quirky but cool, relaxed and welcoming. Outdoor expanse is not just a patio, it goes all the way out into the street nestled under a forest of trees. It is natural and beautiful. Highly recommend this café as a place to relax, hang with friends or read a book, work remotely or just escape from the routine. read more
