Starbucks is Starbucks. This one is closest to my apartment. Pro is that it has a drive thru, in case you are feeling super lazy (and it's nice sometimes on the way to work). The workers are really, really, really friendly which I enjoy. On one occasion, I was waiting at the drive thru speaker to order (there was no one in front or behind me) and I sat there for a few minutes, but nobody ever took my order. I drove up to the window and told them I was waiting. They apologized and ended up giving me my drink for free! I tend to shop local whenever, but Starbucks chocolate for their mochas is better than Spot Coffee's so I find myself here in the winter for Peppermint Mochas. It's not really a place I see myself doing work though; it's definitely a better place to go in, get your drink, and get out. read more

Always good service here! Quality employees and they make my very specific drink to perfection. My favorite Starbucks by far. This is the closes Starbucks to me and just defaults as my morning go to place for coffee if I'm heading out after 5 AM in the morning. I come to this Starbucks the most out of any of the other Starbucks around town as I am able to walk there from my place. First off, the parking situation there is a mess (this is why I walk there most of the time). Although this may not be Starbucks fault, it doesn't change the fact that the parking is awful with the angle of how cars need to pull in, limited spots and positioning of the entrance and exits. Besides the parking situation I truly like going to this Starbucks to get my coffee. The Baristas for the most part are friendly, helpful, and keep out of the way when I'm planting myself there for a few if i'm working on the laptop. The place is small but the layout for seating has never been a problem and I have always been able to get comfortable in a spot for awhile without feeling like its too crowded. The wifi speed is good and I have never had issues with lagging or disruption of internet service. I feel that this is by far the best place to settle in in terms of having reliable internet in comparison to some other coffee shops I have visited. read more

Starbucks is my go-to. I absolutely love it there - service, drinks, ambiance, everything. I always get a triple venti caramel macchiato. It's fabulous. There are plenty of options if you are not a big coffee drinker but you just want a comfort drink. This location is quick in the mornings as well. I frequent the drive thru because of the quickness and the location is near my work. I also visited the location in Magic Kingdom in disney and wanted a cold drink with some caffeine and they made me something delicious. Some teavana drink. It was cold and caffeinated. They are very willing to customize. Wishes: (why I selfishly deducted a star) 1. I wish Starbucks had more locations in Buffalo. Tim Horton's quality doesn't compare. 2. I wish they didn't charge a fortune for a cup of coffee. My order comes to $6+. Kind of crazy for a cup of coffee. Which is why I go to Tim Horton's for their $2 drink more often. 3. I wish I knew the lingo more. People go and ask for crazy concotions. But it's a different language to me. The only reason I learned my "triple venti caramel macchiato" is because I think they were sick of me asking for a "large caramel macchiato with an extra shot of espresso" and kept reading back "triple venti caramel macchiato". Excellent coffee selection love the peppermint mocha with an extra shot of espresso. The staff is amazing especially when your not sure what you want or when you are board with getting the same drinks all the time. The food parings are also great it picks up on the undertones of the coffee and also cleanses your palette to fully get the taste of your drinks. So Starbucks might be pricy but it's worth the extra money due to the craftsmanship of the workers. read more

I suggest that the Yelp business of hours change to what the store hours apparently actually are. Yelp says this location opens at 5am on Sundays. I pulled up to the drive-thru at 5:40am and no one came through the speaker. I drove up to the window as I could see the girl working. She gave me a .2 second look of disgust turned back around and started shaking her head. I mean if they were closed, they were closed, no big deal. But to act like I was oblivious, stupid or something certainly did not start my day off so great. I work in customer service myself and I thought she could have signaled they were closed in a different way besides acting like she did. I normally don't write reviews like this, but this clearly is a miscommunication that should be addressed so someone else doesn't ruin this girl's day by pulling up 20 minutes early before store opening! read more

I'm not a typical Starbucks lover....it's rare that I go here or to any of them. I love this one particularly because of the cutie boy with the scarfs. I love him. He makes me happy and so does their coffee. Plus I can buy a huge bag of espresso roast and they will grind it. Yay Starbucks! You make mornings more tolerable. read more

What can I say... Its Starbucks! Known to be the place where "overpriced" coffee was birthed...but in my opinion the coffee is just that good where I don't mind paying the extra money... I enjoy coming here and the staff welcomes me with a smile a sample of their latest coffee blends and pastry. It's a great place to sit and talk. No AC on a hot day, so it was muggy inside. The baristas looked frazzled, parking and traffic is horrible, there was a woman talking to herself in a corner of the shop, a homeless guy sitting by the front door that the staff had to shoo away multiple times, and a car full of sketchy looking people kept coming and going, and at one point they got out and started a screaming match in front of the store. I will never go back to this one, and perhaps the neighborhood in general. This was my 2nd attempt at this spit, giving it the benefit of the doubt. But no. Almost exactly like before. read more

It's your typical Starbucks. Points for having a drive through, as I tend to always be five minutes behind schedule on the way to work. Can't comment on the inside, as I only went through the drive through. They didn't screw up my order, they rarely ever do- I would hope not for $3-something a drink. Starbucks to me is the same everywhere. Well, everywhere except Seattle. This location leaves a lot to be desired compared to a lot of other spots in regards to their seating inside but I love that it has a drive-thru. This saves the day on a lot of cold Buffalo days. Prices are the same as usual-- high. The coffee is good and I come when I feel like splurging on a flavored beverage. The staff is very friendly. My one true gripe is the parking lot and drive-thru set-up. It is a very sharp turn and causes a lot of clutter on busy mornings. For this reason I would often choose another coffee spot on the way to work... if it was another Starbucks that would be great but this is the only one in North Buffalo, boo! read more

The employees were wonderful and fast. My drink was exactly the way I liked it. So why the two stars? To put it simply, location. It was a nightmare to get to, the parking lot is horribly crowded and the drive thru lane blocks the entrance sometimes. So I finally got a parking spot, and decided to sit outside to read since it was a nice day. And that's when I was approached by not one, but two homeless people panhandling. After the employees shooed them away, they kept coming and going in and out of the store, or standing just off the sidewalk yelling at themselves. If that wasn't bad enough, there were two cates parked practically ON the sidewalk, with shady looking individuals inside of them counting huge wads of cash, blasting music with the windows down. Another car had another pack of shady looking people coming in and out of the vehicle, looking inside car windows as they passed, arguing with each other, getting back in their car, and starting all over again. This in the span of about 30 minutes. I almost felt the need to get a death grip on my purse and pull out my mace. I didn't feel safe there AT ALL. So I left. I will never go back. I just had the worst customer experience. I am a frequent customer of this location and have never had a bad experience as of yet. I ordered 2 mini smores frapps. I asked for no graham cracker and no whipped cream on the top. The girl followed that by " no whipped cream? That's the whole bottom of the drink" I said no just not on the top . She then proceeded to tell me to pull ahead , didn't give me a total. I asked for a carrier and she looked at me and said "why" then threw it at me . Extremely rude for no reason. read more

The workers are very friendly at this location, but they need to work on their presentation and quality of food items. I ordered a breakfast sandwich from the drive thru window, which was still frozen on the inside. I brought the sandwich back and while the workers did apologize and provide a new sandwich, they refused to throw the frozen sandwich away. read more

The drive thru is like a crap shoot sometimes it comes up snake eyes. The lil barista Steven screws my order up then proceeds to be a rude lil ginger barista. Typically when someone does something incorrectly they should be polite and admit their wrong and correct it. Customer is always right. This lil terd acts like he's king of the barista brigade and gives me attitude. I requested a change of the croissant it looked as if it had been stepped on and burned at the stake. He had already messed up a simple order of two coffees with cream sugar on the side. The quality control sucks at this location. I will be contacting corporate and leaving a message with Howard Schultz regarding the store, the worker and will be contacting the health dept. regarding the cashier handling my coffee and food without gloves. They should train their peon baristas how to deal with mistakes before they set them loose on innocent patrons. Also look at the number of stars this location has it's quite a bit lower than the others in and around Buffalo. So it's not just me thank god for once. read more

there's nothing worse than waking up and realizing you've run out of coffee, so this place is just a giant relief. the baristas are pleasant and they're fast. i wish i could clone this staff and put them in every starbucks (elmwood).
