Discovered Epoch Coffee during a Cap10K coffee run. The shop hosted the run which started and…read morestopped at the coffee shop After the run, we received a token for 20% off our order. I was excited to try the cherry chai latte served hot. The drink had a really unique flavor profile with Masala Chai and cherry flavor: slightly tart, subtly sweet, and perfectly balanced with the chai. You can tell they put thought into their specialty drinks. The vibe at Epoch is laid-back, a little eclectic, and a great place to hang out or get some work done. Service was quick and friendly, even during a busy moment. If you're looking to try something different from the standard coffee menu, the cherry chai latte is definitely worth it. I'll be back to explore more of their drinks.

It feels like the kind of place with a lot of regulars from the neighborhood. I ordered an iced matcha and a breakfast taco. No complaints on the matcha. The taco was the standard green cart you get at similar quick service places that sits in a hot box, so nothing special there, but it's convenient if you want to grab both coffee and food in one stop. They also have pastries and a few other food options. Coffee offerings are straightforward and familiar, with a few specials on offer. Not a place I would go out of my way for, for good if you're in the hood.

Not sure if it's gone from all three spots or just this one, but I was a little bummed. On the bright side, I tried the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant instead. The chicken salad itself was super fresh and tasty, but the croissant was just okay--kind of lacking that buttery, flaky magic you usually hope for. It still held up well to the sandwich, though, so no major complaints. The tea bread and coffee I got were both solid--definitely worth trying. Counter service was friendly, and I really appreciated that the place is part of a shopping center with a ton of parking (rare in Austin these days). Couple other little notes: the chips came as a small bag of Lay's instead of something fancier like kettle chips, but hey, it's Lay's--I guess they get the job done. And surprisingly, they've got a pretty big beer selection for what I'd usually think of as a breakfast/brunch/lunch spot. I'm curious what their happy hour or dinner vibe is like since I was only here during lunch. Despite the little things, I'm still giving it 5 stars because everything came together for a good meal, and the staff was lovely. Just hoping that pimento cheese sandwich makes a comeback.
