Starbread Bakery is very much a hit or miss experience for me. The Starbread Senorita Bread itself is the highlight -- buttery, sweet, soft, and genuinely enjoyable. This is what they're known for, and it shows. Fresh and satisfying, definitely worth trying at least once. Unfortunately, the Nutella-filled bread was a letdown. The bread was dry and a bit hard, and the Nutella filling was very skimpy. When you order something with Nutella, you expect more than just a hint of it -- this one didn't deliver. On top of that, there's very little variety overall. The menu is extremely limited, so if you don't love Starbread Senorita Bread, there isn't much else worth exploring. The shop is small and clean, and the lady working there was friendly. But the place was awkwardly silent -- no music, no ambiance, just uncomfortable quiet while you wait. Overall, I'd come back only for the starbread, but I'd skip the filled breads next time. Good potential, just not consistent across the menu.

First time hearing about this place from a Filipina friend who brought a box of señorita bread to our soccer game around the corner. So GOOD! Super soft, fall apart, sweet bread. First time ever hearing about it or eating it so we decided to get our own box on the way out. I would have gave 5 stars, but at 4:30 PM they were completely out of bread and only had one ube malasada that looked like it was sitting all day and strawberry malasadas, so that was extremely disappointing since we don't live near the area. I'm glad we got to try it, now I'll just have to learn to bake my own señorita bread. Such a bummer that they are still technically open for over 2 more hours with hardly anything left.

Wednesday Bakery hours is 7am & it's already 7:20 & its still closed. There's multiple of us waiting, some are buying for work breakfast meetings. Hope the Bakery staff are okay & just hit the snooze button.

My husband and kids love this place! We didn't know there was a location closed by and always went to the OC location for them. The señorita bread is always fresh & warm when they give it to you. As soon as you walk in, you can smell the aroma of the fresh bread baking. The service is good & they're always so friendly. There are different flavor bread that you can also get and donuts too! Definitely worth trying! Definitely goes great with a cup of coffee too!

My 1st 2026 stop in one of my fave specialty bakeries, StarBread, in Riverside Ca.. always (i mean - ALWAYS) fresh bread baked daily... this lil bakery puts out the best pastry. The store front staff is minimal and theyre usually fast to get your order out asap. The store front also is not very sizeable but good enough to display the variety of goodies they are excellent in creating. 2026 is off to an awesome start!

I happen to be in the shopping center when I noticed the bakery. It was morning and I really wanted a pick me up. I was also curious. I entered the bakery and took a look around. There was a customer making a large order, who was being attended. The bakery was holiday decorated and there were signs of everything they offered. I saw displays of bread, donuts, an ube filled pastry, and others. I decided to get the ube filled pastry. It was $2. I paid in cash, card transactions are 50 cents. I asked the employee if they had iced coffee and she said all drinks were in the fridge. The ube was delicious, covered in powdered sugar. I enjoyed it! Very unique.

Since moving to San Diego, and finding the location in Chula Vista, we've been a fan of Starbread. Glad that they opened this location in the IE! Always try to stop by and snag a box when visiting the family. The bakery is always inviting with the smell of freshly baked goods, and the señorita bread is always warm. Friendly staff and delicious treats!

    Delicious!!!

I'm back!!! I couldn't wait to bite into this picture buttery deliciousness. I ordered 5 for $4.00. I found out today that this place will be open on Thanksgiving. Looks like I'll be back on November 27th

This is a must visit bakery famously known for their señorita bread. It's sweet but not too sweet, soft, and airy making it the perfect snack any time of the day! Not to mention they always come out warm! They also sell other pastries and donuts but if it's your first time, I recommend trying a box of señorita bread!

Fresh, soft, melting bread soooo good. Highly recommended. There isn't an eating area nor a restroom. The service was good, they were very busy here at this location. Yet I still didn't have to wait long for my order.

Hot and fresh. We stopped in and grabbed up 3 dozen of the bread rolls (I already forgot the names lol) they were gone in two days. Storefront was cute and clean. Services were fast and friendly. So glad we found this spot!

This Starbread location is in a strip mall at the corner. It is located across Tyler Galleria. There was plenty of parking. This location is pick up only. There is no indoor seating. I came 2 hours before closing. Their goods had been sitting out a while. It was very difficult to understand the man at the counter. Service was OK. I got the viral Seniorita bread. I loved that they warm it up. It was soft and sweet in the middle. 5/5 I also got the mango starbread. I really liked that as well. It was not warmed but still very good. My teen ate most of it, it was that good! 5/5 My hubby got the maple donut. He thought it might be stale from sitting out. 3/5 I also got the ube malasada. I prefer not to have so much sugar on the outside.4/5

Tried the Filipino style biscotti and pandesal with hot chocolate and coffee. I'm going to have to come back and get more soon!

Do they have any custard cream in pasteries?

Yes! They do have a custard filled pastry, the malasada.

Can I place a big order for pick up?

The largest order I've requested from them is about 50pcs last minute, just this past Sunday (8.25.24) They have the senorita breads made fresh and i would say it just depends on how much you are looking to buy. So best recommendation would be to… Read more

In practicing self-control, I did a 4 pack cupcake at $21. I picked dulce de leche tres leches, carrot cake, chocolate salted caramel, cookie butter tres leches. They all tasted the way they were described to be. Dulce de leche tres leches was my favorite. Marshmallow fluff in the frosting for the carrot cake was surprisingly addiciting to me. I wanted more of it. Overall, the cakes were moist, and the frosting fluffy, airy and not too sweet (which is a compliment). I love that there's a decent assortment of flavors to choose from. I'll definitely be back again to try more flavors.

We drove an hour and a half out to try these cupcakes and I was truly saddened and disappointed with the outcome. The cupcakes are so beautiful, however quality didn't reflect the same thing and I'm so sad to say that. The cupcakes were dry, especially the tres leches cupcakes. We were expecting it to be more moist but it wasn't. All the cupcakes have the same whipped buttercream like frosting, which is unfortunate because that kind of frosting doesn't go with all flavor cakes. The frosting is definitely heavy handed and some had to be tossed because it was just too much. Give them a try for yourself, everyone has different taste. Unfortunately this was not for us.

Honestly, the line is mainly due to the customers taking their sweet time while ordering. You might have a hard time finding a table to sit at inside, but they also have outside seating. Price-wise you'll probably spend around $15-$20 per person. I highly recommend their grilled chicken sandwhich. It comes with grilled chicken, lettuce and tomato, all on a toasted sourdough bread covered with pesto and cheese. For the side I typically get the Italian pasta salad, which is always delicious. One thing about this sandwhich is that the chicken will never cover the entire bread and it will never be distributed evenly. So you will always have one half that has less chicken and ends up being part veggie pesto sandwhich, which is still worth it. The other favorite is a turkey club sandwhich on a croissant. It's basic, but also very tasty. They also carry a variety of pastries and serve Klatch coffee (brewed coffee) if you need a sweet treat afterward.

This is a casual place so you order at the front of the restaurant and then pay in the back. Prices are very reasonable all around across the menu. Plenty of tables but can get busy!
