I don't go often but the last couple times have not been the best and let me tell you why... While I do appreciate the warm welcome I do not appreciate a sneaky and deceptive up-sale. We opted for the dozen donuts. I knew the pricing and what I expected to pay. We asked where do we pick from? She says anywhere, she proceeded to say try this try that. We agreed, but nothing is really labeled and all donuts look pretty similar including the "special" donuts so we decided on 4 additional "special" donuts. Upon paying what should have been $23 went to $30. We said how? She said u picked special donuts. Well that was only bc she insisted that it was included in the price. We adjusted the donut selection and paid. The real issue for me is the way she communicated to us in a sneaky way as if we wouldn't notice the up charge, not to mention how embarrassing she made us feel. The donuts are not even great. Placed an order on GrubHub for six donuts. When they arrived, I opened the box and they were all different from what I ordered. Not one donut was right. I checked the receipt and sure enough...my name and the donuts I ordered were on there. There was a huge glazed instead of a regular sized glazed so I broke it in half to eat it. It tasted like old grease. Nasty. If they didn't have the donuts I ordered they should have cancelled my order. No idea why they would send completely different donuts. The donuts were not as fresh as we were hoping. I picked some up to bring to the hospital when visiting my father. The glazed old-fashioned ones were the most disappointing. I've heard Randy's Donuts has a cult following so I decided to try them out for myself. I was most excited to try the Nutella donut. The donuts look good but fall flat on the actual taste. I tried a few different ones and they all turned out the same: bland and dry. The Nutella donut had graham cracker crumbs that were soft and gross (no crunchy texture at all). My mom loves cinnamon rolls (hard to be anything but amazing) and she did not like it at all. Of course, these donuts are also expensive so I'll stick to my local Winchell's or Yum Yum donuts for the future. read more

Don't come here if you are African American or otherwise black. He's racist and he charges too much. This guy charged me $14 bucks for half a dozen. That's more than $2 bucks per doughnut lol. And another thing. Doughnuts don't look that great. As if they sit for a long time so how could it possibly be good. I've had Randy's at the LA locations and it was good. Someone recommended that I go to this one so I bought a 12 pack of donuts. The manager working there was really nice and gave us a discount on the donuts. However the donuts were very weird tasting like it was dipped in old oil. The donuts just tasted old to me. I was getting donuts for the office this morning so I walked in at 5:15am. How does a donut shop smell like cigarettes that early in the morning?? Why doesn't it smell like fresh donuts? These were absolutely the worst donuts I have had in my life! This particular location. Bought 2 donuts a blueberry cake and a bacon maple bar. When say these donuts felt like they were made a week ago! These donuts were so hard, like a brick! Don't think I would come back to this location again. Definitely does not live up to the hype. From what I could see the food is not fresh prepared which makes me question how fresh the donuts are. The ham & chess croissant I order was flat as a pancake and tasted odd. I would not recommend any of the breakfast burritos as the are pre prepared and pulled from a refrigerator/ freezer and microwaved. The donuts did not taste fresh. read more

Stopped by Saturday 10:30 a.m. Gave them another try even though I was asked to email them about my experience/review during Grand opening weekend, but never received a reply. Overall: 2.8 stars. Though there were no flies everywhere this time, the taste of the chocolate donut was just ok. Thick batter, not light and fluffy. Also, kinda pricey. Though this is the closest donut shop to me, sadly I have not found a flavor that has won me over. Maybe if they gave a sliver for a sample or had a stamp card/reward system, there may be a flavor I'd be willing to pay $3.75 next time. I got here at 9 am and the donuts I got were hard. They tasted old. None of the donuts looked very appetizing. There was only coffee mate creamer for the coffee not half and half. I visited this Randy's location when they first opened in Riverside. I purchased a couple donuts and they were nice and fresh, very good. I went in again shortly after that and purchased a half dozen, only because the cashier's "encouraged" me to buy a half dozen. The donuts were okay, but I didn't think they were as good as the first time I bought them when they first opened. I tried again for a third time and again, I half dozen was pushed on me. They do LOOK very good, so they got me. Every single donut was stale. Now here we are a couple years later. I was in the area and thought I'd tried them again. Needless to say, they were the same. I noticed the that this place had mixed reviews but I checked it out anyway coz my nieces were craving for donuts after we had had Lee's and we were already in the area. I think it's a little overrated and overpriced. It's my first time having Randy's donuts but I didn't see why I had to pay extra when it's tastes like the regular donuts we buy from the corner shops. I did purchase , but could not bring myself to eat it. The thought of the flies landing on it before I arrived got me. The donuts themselves look great . Happy to see Randy's in the IE. In my opinion at this given time this is the 2nd best donut shop in the IE. A couple of things I like about Randy's is the value. Good donuts that don't necessarily break the bank. They have 4 levels of price points. Classic, deluxe premium & fancy. Regular is what you pay at any donut shops for your chocolate glazes, maple bars ect. It goes up from there. My favorite donuts here are the corndies (croissant + donut). While these crondys are pretty basic they are good none the less and not much money. Another great thing about Randy's is the selection and hours. You can get good donuts just about anytime. This is the prefer to place to bring in really good donuts to work without it being really expensive. read more

Thought I'd try this place out and see how good the donuts are. Walked in on a Saturday around 930-10 am it was empty thought cool no wait time. My kids picked what they wanted looked over to cashier she said we have a 4 dollar coupon for a dozen I said ok I'll do a dozen. Still was over $35 dollars. Get home and my kids went at it. I got NO response from them I had to ask were they good and they said ok. I tried one and could see why they were hard and had no taste to them. I was very disappointed to see my kids not enjoy them. Literally tossed them out because who wants to eat a hard donut. For being so early in the morning and having that kind of donuts makes you wonder how long they have been sitting there for. read more

Went in around 10am, the employee greets me with a smile and seemed happy to help as I looked around. She was patient and knowledgeable. The place was clean inside&out and seemed welcoming. They have more of "exotic" doughnuts I'd say. Not much of the regular kind, I was looking for a non glazed (plain) blueberry doughnut. They had iced blueberry & glazed blueberry (which I know looks different but to me it's the same) I ended up getting half dozen of "deluxe" doughnuts and it was $15 and some change! That's insane, maybe this place isn't for me. The doughnuts & icing didn't taste fresh to me, wasn't fluffy much. At least a day old, haven't really been to a doughnut place that didn't have soft fluffy doughnuts at 10am. If they were fresh, Im not sure what they're doing.
