I decided on the Acapulco Gold: BBQ chicken breast pieces, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and dressing. It usually comes with onions too, but I asked that ingredient be left out. She guided me to try it on garlic bread, which was a wise choice (thank you), and her finger measurements helped me decide on how big a sandwich I should get. I made it a combo, which came with a bag of chips and a fountain drink. The sandwich was messy but, as is often the case with messy food, it was incredibly delicious! Parking is limited but lots of parking in the neighborhood and it was nice to have a walk before getting lunch. I went with the power plant sandwich and got a brownie too. I was so excited to see that Cheba Hut is near Fox Theater in Riverside. If you are going to a show there or going to a concert at the Municipal auditorium, Cheba hut is so so close! This place is by far one of my favorite sandwich places, albeit a little on the pricier side for sandwiches. BUT they use so many fresh ingredients that the prices make sense. As a vegetarian, I am always on the lookout for a sandwich that is not just tomato, onion and lettuce. The Griefo is by far my favorite sub to get here. My husband, who is not vegetarian, loves the teriyaki chicken sandwich. Will definitely be back to try other options the next time we're trying to catch a show in riverside. The parking can be a little annoying, there's a lot nearby that fills up quickly because of the shows and can be a nightmare to get out of if you go get sandwiches around the time the show is ending. I was in town for business and needed to get dinner late after a long day and the hotel restaurant was unavailable. At 8 pm I decided to walk down the street to get a sandwich. I don't recommend walking that late because it's doesn't feel safe. Anyway, the decorations at Cheba Hut are very cheeky and fun. I didn't know what to expect with all the leaf decor. However, their menu IS vast and varied. I did noticed that they do have vegetarian options. I ordered the Apollo 13 (Greek chicken) sandwhich and it was superb! Cute spot with whimsy decor, when you walk in it just feels fun! The worker that assisted me was really nice and gave a great recommendation. I opted for an 8" The Kind on white bread. It was a good sandwich but not game changing. The bread had a chewiness to it that I actually really enjoyed, like it is a more wet dough than traditional sandwich bread. I think they make their own pickles and while there was a good crunch they did lack a good tang one expects from a pickle. The sandwich while good seemed to be overpriced for what you get. I paid $16.60 including tax/tip and for an 8" it did seem small.
