I came across this pop-up at Epidemic Ales, though you can easily place an order with them on-line for any occasion. My pecan tart was fresh with a flaky shell. For me, the shell of a small tart makes up half of the tart, so it was a plus that it was super duper fresh. The filling was made up equally of fresh nuts but did have a rather prominent taste of alcohol. Some pecan pies contain a bit of alcohol like rum or bourbon. I went on their homepage, and it looks like they also make a Maple Bourbon Pecan Pie. I'm assuming that the tart I got may have been a mini version of that. If you're averse to alcohol in your food, keep this in mind, at least when it comes to their pecan tartlets. Guilty Pleasures makes cupcakes, cakes, pies, cookies and other nicely presented baked goods as well. I spied pre-packaged mixes of mini treats that can be purchased as a nice hostess gift that contained macarons, meringues, and what looked like small pumpkin tarts. I definitely enjoy my sweet treats, but with Guilty Pleasures, it's nice to know that with the smaller bites of desserts I can have them all, minus the guilt...sort of.

Disappointing Experience with Cold Ensaymada and Poor Customer Service. I had a disappointing experience at this bakery. Firstly, they served their ensaymada cold, which was surprising and concerning as it's typically served fresh. When I inquired about warming it up, I was told it wasn't possible. This left me unsure about the freshness of the product. To make matters worse, the staff member's attitude escalated when I expressed my surprise about the cold ensaymada, even though I hadn't even touched it yet. Additionally, when I politely asked for napkins, the response I received was unnecessarily curt. Overall, the combination of the cold ensaymada and poor customer service made for a regrettable visit. read more

We finally got home and tried a few. None of the flavors particularly came through, all of it just kinda tasted like sugar. And for more than $1 per donut and a waiting time? Hard pass. He was working in the area and since I was talking about it , he wanted to swing by to stay when it was all about. And he had a very similar encounter where they stated that they were open , but they need to open later due to whatever reason it was.
