I was told by locals that I need to check this place out. I had no idea what señorita bread was... but I was in for an amazing surprise! I bought 35 pieces for only $10. The bread was soft, slightly sugared, and had cheese in the middle. I got mine fresh out of the oven as the cheese was still melting and the bread was soft and warm. StarBread Bakery is so good, just thinking about the warm, sweet bread makes my mouth water. StarBread Bakery is a small bakery across from the Safeway in Pleasant Hill. When you enter the bakery, the aroma is amazing, as it smells of the bread they sell called senorita bread, and the other bakery's pastries. They have an ube senorita bread, a nutella senorita bread donuts, muffins, brownies plus much more. It's very addicting, and I always want more after i'm done. The staff is friendly, and the shop is clean, but it is small so lots of people can't fit in there. They serve the senorita bread piping hot, but soo good! So my Lola (grandma) lives in Daly City and whenever I would visit her, I would pick up some Seniorita bread since it was her favorite! Unfortunately, I haven't been able to visit her since the shelter in place. But when my Lola wants something, she gets it! My aunt called me and told me that my Lola asked multiple people who lived near them to see if they could pick up some Seniorita bread for her. She was told that the Starbread bakery near them was closed and she wouldn't be able to have it anymore. I could not have my Lola disappointed. Although we have a Starbread in Newark and Union City, the way they made the bread was just not the same as the one in Daly City. So I Yelped for other locations and found one in Pleasant Hill. It was a 30 mile drive but it was worth checking it out. The bakery was pretty easy to find and the guy at the counter was nice. We ordered 100 pieces and thank goodness we did! The bread was soooo buttery! Just how I like it! I think it was even better than the ones we used to get in Daly City! This is for sure our new spot for Seniority bread!! read more

Starbread bakery is a Filipino bakery located in a small plaza, near a Happy Lemon branch. I first heard about this bakery last Christmas when I tried their señorita bread from my aunt during our family "noche buena". And ever since then, I keep coming back for more. I just loooove their señorita bread! It's so fresh, warm, buttery and just melts in your mouth. And it only costs just a few $! Super cheap so you really get your money's worth. Their ube pandesal is subpar compared to their famous señorita bread. It's also more expensive than señorita bread but good to try if you haven't had them for a while. It's not fresh or warm when you buy them so I like to put them in the microwave for 30 seconds before munching on it. read more

OMFG WTF Holy crap I've been driving right by seniorita bread on my way to and from work every day and I didn't even know! Well I found out last night and so of course this morning I went first thing and I bought 40 along with some ham and cheese and hot dog rolls. I was a wee bit disappointed because like some other reviewers said the senorita bread didn't quite have enough sauce and also it was a bit underdone. But it was still good! For the good of all mankind, I'm going to give them the feedback next time so maybe we'll have perfect senorita bread eventually. The seniorita bread from Tutti Frutti in Hercules is better but I'm not driving to Hercules when this place is within walking distance of my house. It's in the same plaza as the Round Table Pizza and there's plenty of parking. No seating. UPDATE: okay people I just found out that one little senorita bread is 150 calories. My evil roommate Googled it. So I think the seniorita bread at this store must be a little less than 150, maybe more like 120, because it has less sauce than the other locations. After trying senorita bread in Pittsburg my mom was hooked and wanted to have some more. Rather than going all the way to Pittsburg we decided to try the pleasant hill location out. I was surprised to see they had a really different menu. I was hoping to get a pork bun in addition to the senorita bread but they didn't have any. Here they mainly serve senorita bread, donuts and other pastries. The senorita bread was still good. I think the other locations were a bit better but still pretty good. Nice, warm and buttery. Will be back most likely for more senorita bread in the future. Glad to have an option to get some senorita bread closer to home. read more

An epic letdown. The reviews were so promising but the end result was a gigantic MEH. No one else in the shop when I arrived. I got one donut with maple flavoring. Looked good, tasted o.k. $1.50 for one mediocre donut. The world has gone mad. It is not that it was bad it was just not memorable or special. I admit to having a very high bar dor my donuts. I use Stan's donuts in Santa Clara as the benchmark. To compare StarBread Bakery to Stan's is to commit sacrilege. I left feeling empty and sad that I went out of my way hoping to discover a treasure and all I got was a donut that might as well have come from the Safeway bakery. read more

I'm from the East coast, so Starbread Bakery is unfortunately very far away from me. I've had their senorita bread before on recommendation from my family that lives in the area. Needless to say, I was blown away. When I came back for my vacation last week, I made sure to make them take me here again. Their senorita bread is THAT good!!! Honestly the pictures and a description do not do these things justice. If you're reading this and are near a Starbread Bakery, make plans to come here and get some! Small anecdote: as I was flying back to the east coast, my bag got flagged to be searched due to the all the yummy food I was trying to smuggle back home. The attendant searched my backpack. The times I've gone I had to wait so they could make the bread fresh, but I really have no complaints to that... you CAN NOT beat bread fresh out the oven. I spent 23.75 and I got 50 pieces of senorita bread. Nutella senorita bread and a brownie. The senorita bread took about 10 mins to be put together in a box and it was hot and smelt so good. This bakery is 25 mins away from and totally worth the drive. When I got home the bread was still warm so everyone could enjoy right away. My family never had senorita bread before and loved it. It's sweet and has like a buttery taste. The only thing that was missing was the sugar on top. The location is small but the lady got through the line so fast. I have been here for senorita bread, and wanted to try something new this time. We got cream cheese bitso and Nutella bitso. Loved the cream cheese! Nutella one was good. We got a coconut cream filled malasada and guava filled one. The guava filled one had less than a .5 tsp filling, so I don't know if it was good. We loved the coconut cream filling! We also got Meyer lemon and toasted marshmallow macarons. They were disappointing. Texture was not as chewy and the lemon one seemed like it had something fake in it, I don't know if it was flavoring or color added, it just seemed off. The staff are lovely and the vibe is very 'local pandereia & more" but you are gravely misinformed if you think they are Gluten free or dairy free. Lovely people and very agreeable so I could understand how language barrier might lead to someone misinforming prior reviewers, but when you buy the labeled prepared foods or ask the staff about the macarons, not a single on I found was gluten free.
