Also amazing is how prices change. Picked up a bottle of whit wine we were told was $12.99. He said he had a cold one in the fridge, grabbed it, and quickly tried to remove the $9.99 tag. Must have been disappointing for him when it scanned in at $10 even. Regardless, it is clean and convenient.

You're supposed to take the next person in line and the ppl behind me dispersed like flies. The courtesy is gone these days amongst people, but it was Safeway's job to take the next person in line & not have employees deceive like that. Ms. Timid called for a Service 1(all available checkers to come) a few minutes after I asked. It frustrating to be lied to your face and to wait only for the people behind me to hop in line for two minutes but get checked out before us.

Quality was good and the price was comparable to other specialty markets. I also got some ripe avocados for $1.19 each, which was way cheaper than Safeway. Aside from fresh seafood and produce, they appeared to carry a good variety of Asian staples. However, I was unable to check out that area because a shopper lost her pearl earring and multiple workers were helping her to find it. :-P This is a good place to shop if you live in the area, especially if you don't want to drive to Concord or Dublin for Asian items. 4 stars.

Our favorites include the Joojeh Kabab (Persian saffron grilled chicken), Kabab Koobideh (seasoned ground beef kabob), Polo (Persian saffron rice), Naan-e Sangak (traditional Persian stone-baked bread), and Mast-o Khiar (yogurt with cucumber and herbs). The quality is consistently outstanding, the flavors are authentic, and every order reflects the care and tradition behind Persian cuisine. This place is THE BEST spot in the entire Bay Area for legit, no fooling authentic Tehrani-style sangak bread. Crispy texture with nutty & rich flavor and big pebble marks on the bottom. My Tehrani girlfriend and I used to grab bread when we were in LA. Now we don't bother because Aala Yazdi is better. Be aware, they bake 2x per day - they have bread in the morning and then again in the afternoon (usually around 4:30pm) so good to call ahead to be sure. read more
