I am a Boulder resident who has been going to Star Nails for over 12 years now. Prior to that I had tried other nail salons, then I tried Star Nails and I search was over. The main reason I've remained with them so long is because they are very professional, friendly and always do an outstanding job whether it's Nails pedicure or waxing. It's nice to know that you're in good hands. I have been known to be totally relax and fall asleep while I'm getting a pedicure while sitting in there super comfy massaging chairs. When you are looking for full-service nail salon this is it! The ambience is always clean and relaxing. When I first started going there I used to ask for a "Don" when he worked as a technician for the former owners. His keen eye and attention for detail is outstanding. Now he owns the place. That's just how good he is! But if Don's not available any of their technicians are equally as experienced and detail oriented. Walk-ins are welcomed but appointments are suggested because they do get busy at times. Credit cards are welcome but if you pay cash you get a cash discount... regardless it's totally worth it! They have a variety of products and whether you're looking for a simple manicure or the latest trends, they can do it. They are known for keeping up with the latest techniques and products. Perfect! Always friendly and efficient. Have been coming for years. Periodically i have tried a new place with friends but am never really satisfied. I am really puzzled by the bad reviews and can only put it down to the different locations. Sure, no one is perfect every single time but my technicians will always fix any problem without complaint. I have never heard or seen any of the techs be rude or rush a customer. The only time I have experienced pain is when i have been in a hurry. Honestly, this location is always peaceful with quiet music and very few customers use their phones, thankfully. I really don't understand the vitriol. read more

Favorite place! One of my friend told me about Star Nails and I've been getting my nails done here for the past 5 months. The staff here are very friendly. They listened to all of your requests and are willing to help do it for you. They also have the skills and are able to do everything all my friends and I asked so far. Bring a picture from Pinterest and they'll be able to do it. The price is relatively normal/cheaper than others for the Boulder area as well. I've been coming to star nails since I was a freshman at CU for my acrylics and pedicures, it's my favorite place! It's so clean, the staff is super kind and friendly, and the price is great. It normally takes other salons so long to do my acrylics and they're never as good as when I get them done here. Seriously, they do the best acrylics in town. they get groups in and out pretty fast/they always try to do you and your friends at the same so you don't have to wait awkwardly for anyone to finish. I love this salon! They treat me like a queen without being too froufrou. It is generally peaceful even when busy. My two favorites are the owners but everyone is friendly. I used to be able to drop in but now make an appointment for my convenience. In fairness, I never hear them turn anyone away or even ask them to wait more than a few minutes. The stations are clean and chairs and products are constantly updated. I've had a couple of times in ten years where where an error was made but it was graciously and immediately rectified without a charge. I am always happy to recommend Star Nails! read more

I've been going to Star Nails for 5+ years for manis and pedis. I love this place, and don't like to get my nails done anywhere else. The staff is friendly and they can usually get me in right away even without an appointment. I have never understood the negative reviews about the staff being rushed or unfriendly - they are just EFFICIENT! Fast and consistently good. If you want a place relax and chit-chat with your nail tech for hours, this is not your place. best nail place in Boulder! for a dip set with a tip (no manicure) it was $50 & they do a 10% off student discount. I've been to a lot of nail places that just want to finish your set and that's it, but Don worked with such precision, took care of my cuticles, ensured each nail was even, and continually asked my questions (like how thick I wanted, the shape, the color, check-ups, etc.) to make sure they were exactly what I wanted. salon was clean and I felt like everyone was working even if they didn't have a client. def going back every month for my nails! read more

This is my go to nail salon. The staff is incredibly friendly and always takes me as a walk-in, even when I'm a little close to closing time. I've brought them manicure ideas from Instagram and they've been able to replicate them. The service is always gentle, but the work lasts - even just standard, baby pink manicures.
