I was a walk in today to remove lip and chin hair. JR was helpful and attentive from the get-go. When she shared that she used to work in restaurant management for years, it wasn't a surprise. She is hospitality plus. Thankfully Mattie had time to wax my lip and chin today, all in preparation for my birthday weekend. Mattie was awesome and thorough and friendly without being too much. I used to go to EWC on Blake in Denver and I love it there too. Marissa and Vanessa are wonderful. But I'm so glad I took a chance on the Boulder location today. It is (way) more convenient to home and work. I read a few bad reviews this summer so I totally heeded the warnings and avoided. I told JR this and she knew. I have been a customer or ewc since 2017 and this location for almost two years. I have never needed a touch up and was not aware of their 5 day policy. Instead of fixing the poor wax, Sara gave me they told me their rules around a policy. So I paid for a subpar wax with a very inattentive waxer and will not be returning to this location and perhaps EWC again. I can't believe how unprofessional this business is. I have been a loyal customer for over 4 years. I have multiple packages on my account for bikini, legs and underarms. I have $900 in credit on the three different packages. I went in for a scheduled service yesterday and was refused service for not paying my bill. (reminder: I have $900 of credit on my account). My account is "locked" and I cannot get a manager to return a call, text or email. The receptionist behind the desk couldn't figure out why since anyone can clearly see the amount of credit I have. Not to mention, I can pull up my VISA bill and prove my account was just recently charged for almost $500. How can a business lock an account and refuse service and not even call the client? Let alone return multiple phone calls and emails? Although they may have me confused with someone else, the fact that they are not returning messaging and basically stealing $1000 of my money is insane to me. read more

Okay yikes I've been considering whether or not to write this review because the people were pleasant. But sadly, I don't think being nice cuts it at the end of the day when you are paying for a service and said service was not executed-well-like at all! And when a Brazilian service is already an uncomfortable experience, you want to make sure you are in good hands. So I had a Brazilian wax scheduled and the entire appointment took 5 mins(which is not normal). It felt very rushed even though I arrived 15 mins early and they got me in 5 mins prior to my scheduled time. I called my husband after and he was like "you're already done, I thought your appt just started." When I tell you this was my most painful experience(and I've had MANY) Brazilians before. 1 the wax was way way too hot. 2 she barely waited for it to cool before ripping it off which left the problem of her repeatedly waxing the same area over and over because the wax didn't pull the hair. And lastly, this was super awkward and I can tell maybe she was uncomfortable doing Brazilians, but she did not want to ya know get in there to actually get it ALL like expected with a Brazilian which should get EVERYTHING. Instead of actually positioning me or moving what needed moved to get the inner spots she just poured the HOT wax all over the top of me(I've never had wax poured over my sensitive bits). Which one made it a very painful experience and two left me with still needing to seek a second Brazilian once my skin calms down. They were nice but the gal I had did not seem to be educated enough on how to perform a Brazilian. Just left there. I went for a standard lip wax and then without asking or clarification what she was going to do she put wax on my lower lip and I panicked. I've never and will never wax the lower parts of my lips and now I'll have thicker & dark hair growing back on top of it all it was 13 dollars for okay service. I left a review about this business two weeks ago and I'm sorry to say I don't have any better news. The business did not refund my packages. They have my incorrect email and phone number in my file and continue to tell me I have been refusing to pay my bill for services when I actually have $900 in credit FOR services in my account. The manager, Samantha, must know she's made a mistake and is too embarrassed to clean it up because she refuses to call me or contact me. She has been telling her staff that she has responded to me which is not true, because I obviously would have received a call or voice mail. This is really unfortunate since I've been a loyal customer in the establishment for well over 4 years. It's a shame people with zero people skills and leadership are put in charges to Manage a business like this. I hope someone higher up figures it out eventually. read more

I've been a loyal European wax center customer for over 10 years. In my experience, their technicians always had excellent technique. I referred lots of friends to EWC over the years. Today I went in for my usual bikini wax, and I had a terrible experience. My aesthetician seemed inexperienced and poorly trained. EWC recently eliminated the "experience ranking" they used to have, where you could request an experienced aesthetician. That's what I always did before, with great results. Now, you cannot request an experienced aesthetician. I walked out of there with most of the wax still on my body, because it hurt so much and it was clear she had no idea what she was doing. In my follow up call, EWC told me their aestheticians are no longer allowed to do any prewax trimming or postwax cleanup, which makes no sense to me as both are required for a gentle and lasting wax experience as I've had for years at EWC. I hope EWC chooses to refocus on client experience and quality training for their aestheticians. read more

I followed my favorite esthetician, Yana, here. I thought the place was nice. It's very trendy inside - lots of red, white and black accents similar to all the other locations. The waiting and check-in area are separate from the waxing rooms. The rooms are nice - comfy bench/table to lay on and plenty of light. Maddie, the manager, was very nice. She checked me in quickly even though there were two customers waiting to check out and she was training another attendant at the same time. Since this was my first time visiting, Maddie took the time to explain the point system (you earn 500 points ($5) for referrals and for pre-booking future appointments at the end of your session. The points can be used to buy merchandise like the brow powder) and the pre-paid wax pass (you can prepay for 6 waxes and get 1 free or prepay for 9 waxes and get 3 free. The passes never expire and you can split cost into several payments (4). You can use the pass at any European Wax Center location.) I highly recommend coming to see Yana. She is the best. I've been with her for at least a year now. She does an amazing job with my eyebrows which can be difficult because I have a deep scar on one side that makes symmetry hard. She's an artist with wax and tweezers and is always willing to make tweaks to make sure you walk away happy. She's fiery and spirited and always fun to talk to. Visiting her means you're visiting a friend who cares about you and wants to make sure you feel sexy. My one qualm is that the parking lot is pretty tight. The spaces are small and it's next to the Whole Foods on Pearl Street so that situation is incredibly unlikely to change. read more

I've tried this place twice and do not recommend it. It's an express wax salon focused on quick waxing and selling products. Their super formulated wax worked well on my hair, I'm not complaining about that. I am complaining about: 1) I went in a for a brow wax. After the conversation with the cerologist we agreed (or so I thought), I just needed them "cleaned up" to keep my natural shape and minimual brow removed. I walked out of there with A LOT removed and prison brows. 2) Months later, I went back for a Brazilian because I couldn't get into Waxing the City (the awesome wax salon I now normally go to). I figured since I wasn't dealing with a shaping issue like with brows, I would be okay. It was not. It was a terrible experience. It was physically painful because the cerelogists have to get you out of there in 15 minutes ... for a Brazilian?!!? And you have to disrobe in front of her, which I didn't like. I'm all for efficient and quick service, but not if it compromises the end result. The final outcome was mediocre at best with several spots completely missed. read more

I just received my underarm and Brazilian wax here today and I definitely had a positive experience. This was my first time and the receptionist was very friendly upon entrance and the esthetician helped me right away. The wax took no longer than thirty minutes and Liz went at a good pace. Not once did I see double dipping and she only used hard wax which I liked. Probably the least painful wax experience I have had. The prices were reasonable and I definitely will come back to this place. The only reason for knocking them down one star was simply because the waxing rooms were just a little uncomfortable. I'm writing an update because I think they deserve it. After reading my lukewarm review, the manager contacted me and offered to provide me with another service. I have to say, I was impressed the second time around. My esthetician was very experienced. She used smaller strips and, because she has the technique down, she was able to complete the service in 15 minutes and I was satisfied with the results. Based upon the fact that they contacted me to make it right and did a good job, I would be willing to go back, especially if I were able to get the same esthetician as the price can't be beat. read more

The girl at the front desk working on 10/6 at 5 was not friendly at all and had very poor customer service. I called prior and said I was going to be possibly 10 minutes late than I proceeded to wait 4 minutes while she checked someone out. She told the lady in front of me it's fine if she is late and than told me they can't even try to squeak me in even if I just did eyebrows. I used to go here for about 3 years at a constant. Tonight was the last night I will tolerate the lack of care at EWC. I usually get paired with inexperienced trainees who are completely clueless at NOT taking off so much hair(eyebrows). Tonight, I asked for a cleanup and showed an example of my brow shape. This women groaned and sighed saying that it's going to be a lot of work to clean up. I didn't say anything and smiled. Then 35 minutes passed. She spent 35 minutes fixing my eyebrows. My eyebrows are naturally thick and she made them HALF the size in width and length. She started panicking and whipped out some makeup. Now, if I wasn't frustrated enough, she put on (I kid you not) black eyeshadow to clean up her mess! Worst eyebrow experience I've had in a long time. read more

If I could give 0 starts I would. Anyways I scheduled a neck wax and Brazilian. I was super excited and have gotten waxed plenty of times before. When your getting a Brazilian wax you want to be comfortable and let me tell you this girl made me feel so uncomfortable and almost bad that I was going to get a Brazilian wax. So we start with the neck and I can tell she's not letting the wax harden enough so when she pulls it off NONE of my hair was coming out. She went over one area about 6 times and it got to the point where she said she didn't want to go over it again. She gave me the mirror and literally it looked like she waxed nothing. NOT EVEN THE FINE THIN HAIRS. so she goes to pluck my hairs and can't even pull my hair from the root of my face she just kept breaking the hair again and again and again!!!! How did this person get hired?!? She couldn't answer any of my questions and at this point I was thinking there is no way she is going to touch DOWN THERE. I told her I didn't want the Brazilian. Who knows what have happened then. Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had. I would not recommend this place to any of my friends or family. If you want your skin mutilated go to EWC. They offered me a free Brazilian with a more experienced technician. I most definitely said NOOO. Do not go to EWC in boulder. read more

I don't write reviews in general. But my experience was so bad, I felt compelled to write some sort of warning. I went in for a full arm wax, not the most difficult part of the body to wax. The technician ended up taking well over an hour and a half to do the wax and ended up RIPPING OFF MY SKIN, she went over the same areas so many times. When I complained, the manager claimed the reason for the patches of ripped skin and discoloration were because I do not have caucasian skin. I have been waxing for 25 years and have never had this problem before. In the end, she tried to sell me another visit! Absolutely ridiculous! read more

Unfortunately my Neanderthal like brow needed some upkeep and I decided to give it a shot. My first impression of the place was extremely pristine and welcoming! I was very surprised. This is the first EWC that I have been to, and I have had top notch experiences every time. Originally I was attracted by the prices (first timers get a complimentary wax, and a Brazilian undercuts the prices of other salons) but now I go for the prices, quality, AND service. My aesthetician is Connie, and she is absolutely fantastic. She was gentle, professional, and personable. I really like that she took the time to explain to me why why she applied the wax in certain directions depending on my hair growth, etc. she obviously knows a lot about her trade. The products are very cost effective and they really work. My favorite is the ingrown hair serum, which saves my life on my Brazilian waxes. As for the salon itself, it comes across like a medical clinic, which I love because it has that impeccably clean vibe. I am definitely a customer for life at this place! I continue to come to EWC for the clean, professional, and quick work that the estheticians do here. I do have to dock one star, however, for their unappealing sales tactics. I'm sure these ladies believe in the products that the company provides, but they basically shove them down your throat. Sometimes they will even bring them to the counter and give it to the receptionist ringing you up without even asking if you want to buy it! As a college student, I cannot afford to pay an extra $30 on lotion for my lady parts, considering I just dished out almost 50 for a wax. Aside from that, keep up the good work! read more
