I am sharing this review in hopes that others don't have to go through an experience similar to the one I had. I received a purifying facial here two summers ago. Most of the facial was lovely, as was the ambiance of the place itself. The extraction part of the facial was rough and painful, but I did my best to relax and trust the process. After the facial, I was left with many red upraised bumps on my face. This took nearly two years to heal. After trying many products, pure tamanu oil was finally the healing agent that worked... I am still using it on a daily basis. In communicating my challenges with the staff, they expressed their empathy but essentially said my experience was due to my skin not regenerating itself well. They did not take any responsibility for their part in this. Therefore, I do not recommend getting extractions at this place, especially if you have sensitive skin. read more

Mixed feelings. First experience with the staff here wasn't great; I had COVID & had to cancel same day and was still charged for the full service. Trying to do the right thing in not going but OH WELL. Decided to give this place another go since it's hard to find sugar waxing, only to be berated by my specialist stating that "it clearly states on the website they DO NOT do sugar waxing & maybe if I read the website I wouldn't have been confused." Totally get pple don't read but it's literally the only reason I drove to Boulder. Oh and it very clearly states The Honey Pot DOES do sugaring- or is supposed to. Ummmm...no. I booked multiple appointments at the HoneyPot based on their reviews. My complaints are as follows: 1. No staff to answer Q's, book appointments, etc. This ended up becoming quite a problem. 2. They switched the days on my appointment and a person texted me the new day/time. Problem is she told me 12:30 but o got a system confirmation for 1:00. I was willing to accommodate even though this did not fit great with my schedule. 3. They misbooked me and instead of an hour, they booked 45 minutes. Not nearly enough time for 4 services!!! 4. I walked in at 8 minutes after my appointment only to be scolded by the owner/therapist. She took ZERO responsibility for their mistake but instead engaged in tense blame shaming. I told her I didn't feel comfortable continuing unless she could reset. She assured me she could. 5. While she was doing my brows, I offered to come back the next day to finish if that was easier for her to which she responded by telling me how she expected her clients to RESPECT HER TIME and that my being a few minutes late (which she turned from 8 to 15 minutes) was inappropriate. When she wouldn't stop blame shaming I got up. 6. She continued to attack me until I walked out the door. 7. Beyond that, the place was freezing, no comfy blankets, not lovely at all. There are much better places in Boulder to get these types of services. These young women run a little girl business and have some growing up to do. read more

Had a facial and waxing done by Olivia and was so impressed with her expertise and quality of service. The studio is tucked behind and off Pearl which makes parking a little easier (the studio does have two spots but the free parking on the street just one away from Pearl makes it easy). Olivia's suite is so well decorated which makes for an immediately inviting and comfortable place to have your appointment. My skin felt AMAZING and looked great afterwards. She really gets it when I say extractions are my favorite part and man did she get em all. I originally picked The Honey Pot because they're the only place around I could find that used sugar wax for bikini/Brazilian waxing. This is SO MUCH BETTER for your skin and I won't use any other type of wax for my nether regions. Olivia was quick but careful and made the whole process flawless and comfortable. i really never ever do this kind of thing but i went to the honey pot for it's reviews the other day and was pretty disappointed. though the customer service i received was nice, i left my lip wax with many visible hairs still left & woke up the next morning with a scab on my cheek right next to the waxing area. i will say that going into the appointment i had a very minor scab that was on the corner of my lips and at first i thought it was an extension of that but it has been a couple days now and they are clearly unrelated. i guess i'm just a little disappointed considering the wax was somehow strong enough to give me a scab but i also walked away not feeling satisfied with the wax itself :( read more

Just had a great service experience at the honey pot! The place has two parking spots out front plus street parking (3hr limit). The little house is beautifully decorated with a very calming vibe. I first had a lash lift- my first one which was completely pain free and honestly felt like I was getting a facial too. I loved the result, looks like a more natural eyelash extension (they don't add any lashes) and there is definitely a noticeable lift and darkened look. Afterwards I got a wax with Olivia which was also a great experience. She was very quick which I always appreciate and very friendly. These ladies seem to run their business incredibly well and I will definitely be back. They're taking great covid precautions- masks, sanitizing, waiting outside, etc it all felt very safe. I visited Boulder from out of town last week and the combination of airplane flights and the high-altitude-dry-heat-dehydration did not agree with my skin at all. My skin was breaking out and just generally sad. I scheduled a 60 minute facial with Amanda, and it was a great experience! Even better, in the following days, which have included two plane flights, three climates, and a fair amount of time spent in the sun and, oh yes, lots of drinking -- none of which are ideal for radiant skin -- my skin looks and feels both hydrated and healthy. I'm no longer breaking out and the existing breakout spots have almost disappeared. Amanda was warm and professional. She carefully explained why my skin was freaking out, gave useful and personalized skincare advice so I could stop it from happening again, and didn't try to up-sell me on buying anything. She was easy to chat with but didn't pressure me to chat when I blissed out and got quiet halfway through the treatment. She also checked in with me throughout the experience to ensure that I wasn't bothered by various smells or temperatures. The facial included several different hydrating treatments and exfoliations, and a (mercifully) brief few extractions. It also included a lovely trio of massages, to the shoulders, arms and hands, and neck and scalp -- as someone who sits in front of a computer all day, the massages were much appreciated. For the price, the treatment was a steal. One note is that both therapists do have pet dogs, so if you have a strict dog allergy, this may not be the best option. Personally, I am a huge dog lover, and Mason (the dog) was a very calm, quiet, cute and friendly fuzzball, so it was a plus in my book! Logistics: (1) you enter through the parking lot, (2) you can both pay and tip on credit card. tl;dr -- Highly recommend. If I'm in the area again, I will definitely go back. read more

I only schedule body work when it is pretty dire (pinched nerve/numb arm) but wow - Smylie again set me straight and I just need to get to The Honey Pot more often for bodywork. Olivia and her partner in business have this delightful space for their clients , where your one on one is valued and very well catered too. I have personally never been one to continuously visit an esthetician - but Olivia demands remarkable acknowledgment to her profession. She is gentle, patient , and very thorough and honest.
