Horrible people! Went here for a bit but the nails always broke within a couple of days. I would go back and they would fix it so I never felt compelled to write a bad review until today... It is almost always empty here and I really needed to get a set taken off so I went here assuming they were empty. They were, not a person was in there. They had 2 nail techs working and I was turned away because they were 'busy'. There literally wasn't a customer in the building. I will never go back here again. Planet nails in the next parking lot over had tons of customers and took me immediately. All their techs are wonderful too! It's where i started going a couple months back! Im VERY satisfied with my full set, and the pedicure the professionalism, friendliness and attention to detail. One of the best sets I've ever had. The shop was very clean, love the big bright windows and how open it is. Nice environment to relax in, which is how nice nail salons should be. If you're a student, you get 10% off with ID AND you'll get 10% off if you pay entirely in cash. They by FAR have the biggest selection of colors, all the prismatic, glow in the dark and mood changing powder specialty colors ON TOP of a huge collection of powers and gels that match the regular nail polish colors perfectly. Very impressive. You can tell they care about their brand, customers, quality products and client retention. It's also nice they're open until 7:30. This is the worst gel manicure I have ever gotten. I had to leave for the airport and I felt bad so I didn't say anything but for 37 dollars this is literally terrible. There is gel in my cuticles the polish is uneven and splotchy and they are unevenly filed. I have never left a bad review before but I was leaving for a girls trip this weekend and am stuck with these nails and am very upset about it. On top of everything my nails hurt from how hard they scraped them when taking my old gel off. Again I feel terrible leaving a bad review I even tipped for the service but I don't want anyone else to have the same experience. I have gotten a pedicure there and it was fine! read more

Lots of dip color choices. T was a great nail tech! She paid attention to details and worked with my short nails. I love them actually! It was $40 for dip which i think is normal. Glad i found them, drove all the way from Longmont to see if this recommendation was good and she was! I took a star off for the facility ventilation. Not a big deal but it was a bit hot in there. They had only the door open in 90 degree weather, but no ac or fans! I felt a bit stuffy and couldn't wait to get out of there. Again it wasn't a huge deal but when you're sitting there for 40 mins you kinda want to be comfortable and not sweating. Maybe it was that day, or that's normal. I wanted simple coffin shape nails. She charged me 5 extra for length I knew that. When adding the fake nails one nail was crooked I told her she supposedly "fixed it." Then when adding the powder and liquid she missed like 3 nails on one side and they didn't even go all the way to the top. I told her she again "fixed it." Then when polishing my nails she didn't ask me until she started if I wanted gel when all I said was pink and white. I was already annoyed at that point so I told her to finish up since she had started. I asked for a c on a nail she couldn't do it she charged me the 5 in length which is the same length as my sister and she was charged 50 and I was charged 55. All of my nails are lumpy nail polish doesn't go all the way to the edges and they do not look like coffin my two thumbs one is shorter than the other one and they are square. I paid cash and didn't get a receipt. read more

I had a pretty bad experience here last summer. My friend and I went to get mani/pedis and we had totally different experiences. The woman working on my nails was super anxious and unfriendly and got impatient when I took 30 seconds to choose my nail colors. She rushed through my mani/pedi in a record time of 18 minutes. When I asked her to repaint a nail that was only half covered, she was noticeably irritated and scoffed at me in front of other patrons. :( My friend, on the other hand, had a very nice man work on her nails, and he pampered her thoroughly for 45 minutes, so I'm sure her review would be much different than mine. Unfortunately I was paired up with the wrong person, so I suppose it could be a hit or miss here. Pretty disappointing since it was a standard pricing for mani/pedis and I don't indulge in these very often! Regardless, I won't be coming back. read more

I was getting my nails done by the lady at station #4 sorry I don't know their names but it was going good until she asked what shape I wanted and I had told her I wanted them square but narrow. Not coffin because that's too pointy. She then continued cutting them coffin shaped after I had just mentioned I didn't want them coffin so I told her and she started to get frustrated. She then had an attitude and moved me to a different lady at station #3, this lady was much nicer but my nails came out looking the worst they ever have. I think I can safely say this is the worst pedicure I ever got in my life. The woman finished in probably 20 minutes. She barely did my cuticles, ripped a hole in my toe with the 'cheese grater' they use to remove callouses, and painted my toes with one super thin, uneven coat of polish which chipped that afternoon. First time ever I haven't had 2 coats. My girlfriend's manicure started about 10 minutes before mine, and ended about 10 minutes after, so maybe I just got a manicurist who wasn't any good, but then what was she doing there? And these guys are pricey. Go anywhere but here. read more

Do not normally post reviews but this was a terrible experience. I went there for a mani and pedi after reading all the positive reviews. I was taken aback by the lack of cleanliness. The utensils do not look sterilized at all. I did not see a sterilizer or anything being unwrapped like new. She pulled and pulled at my skin, digging into my nail beds and was very rough. I honestly hope I do not have an infection or an ingrown toenail now. I had gel on my fingernails previously so she had to remove them and instead of waiting to scrap off the polish she used a buffer and a sand blaster to take it off with only a few minutes for the acetone to work. This has left my once strong long nails, extremely brittle and now blended with color from the gel polish embedded in the nail. I opted out for polish because my nails now have to heal from that experience. I went there as a treat being 9 months pregnant and knowing I would not have another chance to be pampered and left very disappointed. read more

I was apparently the first one there, to find a rather disgruntled employee. That was fine. I tried to "cheer her up" as she was tired, complacent, and somewhat rude. I found myself picking some dirt out from under my toenails AFTER she "cleaned" them, she did not clean cuticles well with rough edges remaining, nor did she file nails to an even close smooth shape. I have been to Encore twice. The first time was fantastic from start to finish. The only downside was she did not speak English so I had to wait for the owner to be available to translate as needed. She was so good that I drove from Westminster to Boulder and bypassed multiple other salons to go again. I will not be repeating that mistake. The second time was perhaps one of the worst experiences I have had at a nail salon, including the nail school! She rushed EVERYTHING, and I was out of the chair in less than 20 minutes! I asked her to please do a better job on the exfoliating and nail shaping, and she ignored me. She did one swipe on the ball of my foot with the pumice, never touched my heels at all and did not bother with the foot massage which is standard. There were two other customers that were getting pedis before I arrived, and still getting pedis after my dry time. Bottom line is I could have done a better job myself, and actually did when I got home. I paid extra for a French that was not even painted all the way across my nails and less than 48 hours later is already bubbling off and peeling. I would have definitely rated them as a five star after my first visit, but would give them zero for this one. Nail salons are a dime a dozen, and my dime will be spent elsewhere next time. read more

I take issue with the people who say that this is not the most luxurious or indulgent nail salon. What'll it cost you? $40 for a mani + pedi! Or, opt for a Deluxe Pedi with massage, hot rocks, paraffin wax...for the money you get a fantastic value - thus why it give it 5 stars for its class! What do I like the most? CLEAN salon, super friendly staff from Vietnam, with tons of help to help with those peak times. I saw them cleaning out the basins and sterilizing tools as I was leaving...which gives you that warm fuzzy when you think about the volume of feet and toes in those basins. Ewwww. I wish I knew who to ask for when I get a pedicure here. It's usually excellent, but there is one woman that doesn't seem to care if she's hurting me and I think she only speaks an Asian language that I don't speak. I love encore nails for it's convenience, but the place is really hit or miss. The gentleman who works there does an awesome job, takes his time and does the pedicure right, complete with massage and exfoliation. Some of the other ladies are not as careful and tend to rush when they should be more careful. I would recommend going and being particular about whom does your mani/pedi. When I decide that my nails are actually polish-worthy I always go to Encore Nails. I've been to places all over Boulder and this is by far the best. I love that they take walk-ins. I've never had to wait for more than 5 minutes, and they have plenty of magazines to keep you occupied. In terms of cleanliness, the place is practically sparkling. The manicure stations are neat and definitely clean. I've even seen them wash out the pedi tubs before AND after a client. The owners are so sweet! They are extremely friendly and make great conversation. I get the feeling they take immense pride in doing a good job and keeping their clients happy. I have been going here regularly for gel manicures and the women here do an excellent job! My manicure usually lasts for 3 weeks, and my nails hardly ever break anymore. The women here are friendly, the place is clean, spacious, and relaxing. I almost never have to wait for a manicure. My girlfriends and I booked a 5-person appointment for gel manicures on a Wednesday night at 6:30 and they really took care of us. We were each given a 10% discount for booking a larger party.
