If you blink you'll miss this little food cafe located on the north side of the the LIE service close to Utopia Parkway. My GF noticed it one rainy day because on bad traffic on the main Level LIE road. We order three dishes, pork chops on rice, beef lo mein, and pineapple fried rice. All three dishes were great! We totally enjoyed ourselves. Some minor notes- Food took a long time due to only one cook in the kitchen. I counted SEVEN blackboard menus; it took a long time to read! A little overwhelming. It was very noisy when we were there and tables were limited due to a large group of high school kids packed in during lunch time. Parking can be a challenge; read the signs! Decor is nice. I will be back!

My boyfriend and I were craving something sweet late at night so we found this place on seamless. The delivery person brought our desserts whilst it was snowing pretty hardcore! We were so appreciative. The desserts were yummy! We ordered the mango cheesecake and Oreo stuffed cake. Fun note is that there's an ice cream filling in the Oreo cake. We are definitely ordering from here again and trying their other desserts.

**3.5 stars** Star Cafe is tiny! It took a long time to figure out the menu because it's posted on the walls all over the place. I am not sure if the paper menu has everything. It is hard to tell. We ordered lo mein, fried rice and a pork chop dish. The lo mein was the best dish of the three. The pineapple fried rice was enjoyable. The kitchen is clean. The people behind the counter were nice to me. The price was a bit high for the portion size. The boxes that the food came in were barely full. For the price I paid, I did expect at least a slightly fuller box of food. The food was satisfactory. The quality and taste is good. How much you like the food depends on what you order. I would stay away from certain things like the ramen or Thai dishes. This is a Cantonese cafe place so that is what I would stick to. The atmosphere would have been fine except for the teenagers. They were really loud and their backpacks and books were spread out all over the place taking up tables where people could have sat. There are not many table so I was surprised when these students were able to take up tables to just place their bags and books. I saw the students move between three tables. One table to just sit at, another table to eat at and another table for their belongings. It's ridiculous. The kids were also super duper loud. I am sure the teenagers are their main clientele. It's next to a school. Would I go back? Not on purpose but if I was in the neighborhood and looking for a snack or lunch spot, I would come back if I was passing by.

New kids on the block! After several failed businesses at this location Star Cafe deserves to shine. Looks to be family owned and ran with much love and respect to the food they put out. I have been here the past 3 days since they opened and have not had a bad meal yet. They have daily specials for an entree and a arizona drink for 7.50, which is pretty decent of a price for the amount of food given. The chef always asks how i would like my meal and will cook the meal to your preference. With a menu of snacks & sandwiches to rice & noodle dishes that is not too over the top but will keep you coming back to try the next thing on the menu. Nothing seems to be cooked in advance so be prepared to wait at least 10 minutes for your food. Everything has been fresh and exceeded my expectations of what i'm use to eating from a HK style cafe. Review of foods i've tried: Crispy Popcorn Chicken - taiwanese style crispy little nuggets of fried deliciousness Bun With Pork Chop - Fusion style porkchop with onions and american cheese on italian hero (add peppers for a spicy kick!) Pork Chop w/ Salt & Pepper over Rice - matches any restaurant i've enjoyed this dish at but with less fat than other places Chicken Chop w/ Black Pepper Sauce over Spaghetti - Chicken was fresh and juicy and pepper sauce had a nice kick Lemon Tea - standard lemon tea w/ no sugar Bubble Milk Tea - compares to cafes not as much sugar which is my preference Potato Croquette - chef gave this to me for free to try her newest creation. it was yummy. Overall i would recommend this place to anybody passing by in the area. There's not much parking on the side street but call ahead so you can put in a order be in and out. I have suggested to them that they start delivering to build a wider client base. This little shop has earned my business and with competition like tea shop 2 blocks away i find their ingredients to be fresher and quality of food to be a leagues ahead of them. Bring your empty stomachs here and the chef do her best to accommodate.

Their Angus burger was surprisingly delicious and actually looked like the pictures (THICK!) It was cooked the way I wanted and was juicy. The fries also had a good crunch to it. The citrus honey lemon tea was refreshing and not too sweet. I'll probably be stopping by here more often.

A very special, high quality and tasty cantonese style food. Service is good and friendly. Highly recommend the chicken filet fried rice.

The remainder of my Hong Kong style fish balls. Very good flavour, right amount of heat.

Cosy little place serving Hong Kong style snacks. Food came hot & fast. The restaurant is very clean and orderly, deserved of the "A" rating. I would revisit this place without hesitation.

Good service. Food is fast. I ordered and went back outside to wait in the car and they bought it outside when food was ready.

This spot is a slightly more elevated and nicely decorated with warm and friendly service. I ordered a Sichuan classic, twice cooked pork, and a new dish I've never seen before, snow pea leaves in broth. The twice cooked pork was a fantastic iteration of this dish. The pork was sliced thin with the perfect amount of chew which paired well texturally with the soft, buttery leeks. The flavor was so well balanced while being heavily seasoned and the smoky wok hei flavor really comes through. The snow pea leaves were soft and silky with tender stems, and they came served in a golden broth with some mushrooms, juicy tomato and snappy pieces of black fungus. The dish is topped with a century egg. I found the broth itself to have a bit of a grainy texture when sipped. I've tried century egg in the past and while I'm not disgusted by it, I never quite felt like I understand the ingredient until eating this dish. The creamy, funky flavor of the egg reminds me of blue cheese and it pairs very well with the subtle flavors of the snow pea leaves and amplifies the richness of the broth. I really enjoyed my experience here and would like to return with a group to try more of the Sichuan classics on the menu.

I found it too thick, and doughy, particularly the top knot. The filling was okay at best. I've had better. Also tried the three cup chicken. Didn't realize this is a cold dish. It wasn't mentioned on the menu. I would have preferred this hot. Also lacking enough seasoning. The best thing about this restaurant is the bakery items, in the front. Yes you heard right. There is a tiny area next to the window that sells many bakery items and also sandwiches that look pretty good. The sponge rolls cakes are good. But not really special because you can get these at many Flushing bakeries. Pork bun, lacked enough sauce and filling. Service is fine. Servers were nice and helpful. Decor. Pretty nice, with fake trees inside, with wood booth seating. Could use some cushions. If I'm in the area, I might only come back for bakery items. But maybe this place will get better in time, just not right now for me.

An Unforgettable Omakase Experience!…read more We celebrated the 4th of July with an incredible omakase dinner at Masaki, and it exceeded every expectation. Every course was beautifully presented, impeccably fresh, and perfectly balanced. From the delicate Red Sea Bream and buttery Scallop to the luxurious Toro with Caviar, Sweet Shrimp with Uni, and the unforgettable Eel with Foie Gras, each bite was a masterpiece. What truly elevated the evening was Michael, our sushi chef. He was warm, engaging, and exceptionally knowledgeable. He took the time to explain every course, the origin of the fish, the flavors, and the best way to enjoy each piece. His passion for his craft was evident, and his attention to detail made the entire experience feel personal and memorable. Dining at the sushi bar gave us a front-row seat to watch the artistry behind every piece. The quality of the ingredients, the precision of the preparation, and the genuine hospitality made this one of the finest omakase experiences we've ever had. Thank you, Michael, and the entire Masaki team, for making our holiday celebration so special. We can't wait to return for another unforgettable evening!

I honestly wasn't expecting much but the service based solely for the Omakase blew me away. The Omakase bar was in the back of the restaurant hidden away. The space was very open and the ambience was chic. This is a great place for date night, mommy night out, or group hangouts as they have private rooms too. Every piece tasted very fresh and were quite unique. The steam silky egg appetizer with crabmeat and fish roe was simple yet delicious. One of the dishes was an uni toro roll that was placed on top of our hands and was sprayed with edible gold glitter on us. That was a surprise and it was cute. And that uni just melts in your mouth. We had this matcha pudding with I think had an Oreo sprinkle in it was fabulous. They also surprised us with an extra dessert cause it was all 3 of our birthdays. Very enjoyable experience. Our sushi chef was very accommodating and made our birthday dinner memorable. We originally started out with the summer special of $78pp for a 12 course meal and decided to upgrade to the 14 course meal for $98pp. There was an option for a 17 course meal for $138pp but we were very full towards the end. They also had this $30 lunch and $60 dinner 3 course meal set for restaurant week. My friend's mom wasn't a fan of raw stuff so she ordered the Chilean sea bass with risotto and she wasn't a huge fan of it. The fish was a tad overcooked and the overall presentation of the dish looked more of a Chinese fusion dish. The risotto had that cheesy flavor but the presentation with the Bok Choy and the risotto looked more like fried rice and was confusing. I would stick with the omakase, which this place is known for.
