At the printing or copy machines area you don't get the expected friendly welcome. It is more dry instructions to do things yourself. If you cannot you don't get friendly good customer Help. I use to like staples but the employee in the printing area should get more training on better customer service. read more

Awful experience. Do not use this location for Amazon returns. They took my expensive return, would not give me a receipt. I had to wait til I saw my Amazon update to leave the store and now my return is delayed 3 weeks so I will not see the refund if any for at least a month. I suggest you stick to Kohls for Amazon returns or just don't return. I am afraid my return was tampered with for asking for a receipt. read more

The print center is awful, they will refund you the money every time instead of completing the job. They are LAZY and unprofessional. Employees are seriously bad these days, they don't realize that if there is no money coming in, the store will close and they will eventually lose their job. read more

This Staples has a good selection of supplies, but the print center was unhelpful. I came in about 15 minutes before closing to print a copy of a passport my 16-year-old niece needed for her new job. The self-serve printer was very slow and wouldn't load the .heic file of the passport from my email. When I asked the employee for help, she didn't seem interested in assisting. She told me there was nothing she could do and only after I explained the urgency of the situation did she give me another email address to try. Even then, she said she received my email without the attachment and that they don't work with image files anyway. While I was still trying to convert the file, she let me know the machines were already off and the store was closed. Overall, the combination of unreliable equipment and lack of helpful service made this a bad experience. If customers are expected to sort out all the printer problems themselves, it's hard to see the point of having staff in the print section at all. I wouldn't recommend this location for your printing needs. read more

I stopped in here yesterday looking for a box. I almost walked out and a nice lady stopped and asked me if I was finding what I needed (I wasn't) and she directed me. I found 2 boxes for less than $10. UPS wanted $12/ per box!! Needless to say I was pleased. The store is bright and clean. Since we lost Office Depot this is the go to for office supplies. They have print services on site as well. I came back today and bought a mouse pad. I returned because the lady was so nice and helpful yesterday. Thank you! read more

BE AWARE! The managments doesn't know how to treat customers. I was there trying to return items from Amazon. Waited in line, and when it was my turn, the cashier told me to wait where it says AMAZON RETURNS, so I waited. But after seeing that the cashier was taking care of the others but me, I asked if I ever was going to be taking care. She replied that after taking care of the "Paying Costumers". That comment was rude!. So just because I was not a "paying customer" at that moment, I had to wait until everyone one else is done?. I asked for a supervisor, and guess what. It is her, MARYANN. she told me that she would refuse the service if I kept complaining. So I left the store. What a great costumer service from this "supervisor". This is the last time a set foot on this store. Customer service is horrible here. I sent a 2 page document in an email to them to get printed. I went to go pick it up after a few hours. I waited in line and when it was my turn at the counter they told me they couldn't print it. 2 pages thats it and they want me to come back at the end of the day for pick up! Zero stars if I could. Manager Maryanne however you spell that upside down name tag. First day meeting her yesterday she first doesn't acknowledge my presence and speaks to the person who arrived after me. She mentioned she is the manager but doesn't know how to do anything behind the counter other than place orders..? Then she let me know my print job was 9 in line wouldn't be ready till 8 pm 12/16 I said I'd pick it up morning of today. Get here fist lady has name tag covered by jacket let's me know she doesn't see anything for me. Maryanne comes up front all fake a cheerful then says I said I was going through with it. She confirmed she deleted the email so I left. Worst customer service in a while. Holidays bring that out of people but damn. Prices are higher in the store than online from staples. Yup you're reading this correct the SAME item is cheaper if you buy online and pick up at staples than go to the store and buy it directly. The difference on a DYMO D1 label refill was approximately 20%. DO NOT SHOP HERE. Also higher than the manufactures price. I'm a local small business owner and I have used their printing services a ton over the last few months. A few days ago I went in to pick up some prints for my mom and had no major issues aside from being blatantly ignored by the woman manning the printing department, and my moms prints weren't laminated as she had requested. I brushed it off because a super sweet guy ended up helping me with everything and they laminated the pages at no additional charge, so fine. A few days later I went into the store to pick up some prints for my business that I had ordered online. The same woman (ARELY) who had completely ignored my existence when I went to pick up my moms prints, ended up helping me. After she gave me my poster she randomly decides to ask me if I paid for the prints that I had picked up for my mom the previous day. I was taken aback by the question and the insinuation behind what she was asking. I told her I had, and then asked her to elaborate on her question and why she asked me that, to which she had valid no response. For context, the prints that I picked up for my mom were literally $1 and some change. I've never stolen or walked out on any type of bill in my 30+ years of living, so I was extremely insulted by the question. I spoke with her manager and let them both know that I'd be contacting corporate. Her manager seemed upset and disappointed but only offered to "speak" with the employee. I have worked in sales and customer service for 12+ years and I understand that there are times that your words and intentions can by taken out of context, but I think that this employee was fully aware of what she was asking and the impact that it would have, and if she wasn't, then I think that this is a hard lesson that she needs to learn. I am a black woman so not really sure if she was trying to racially profile or just be a horrible person in general, but if you print anything there I highly recommend avoiding the girl with glasses in the print department. I was in need of a printer. And fast! When times comes to print documents it is necessary to have a printer. In this area it is always seems a challenge to find supplies. I should have come here first! My printer search started at Target, then Best Buy, then I finally relented and came here. The parking lot in this particular area is a pain in the..., it is in the same center as The Home Depot & a Smart & Final and a McDonalds. Right off the freeway. I was able to walk in, find an affordable printer with ink cartridges in stock for that printer and go home and... you guessed it! PRINT! The store itself was clean and easy to find what I needed by myself. Friendly service at check out too. As I mentioned previously my only gripe is the parking situation here. Be careful if you come here as the parking spaces are small and unfortunately there seems to be a lot of random people roaming this lot. Be careful. A good spot for all your office supply needs. read more

Wow...talk about having a bad day. Went to Staples today looking for a silver permanent marker for the Holidays. Asked the female manager on duty..."Aisle 6" she says. Thank you and off I go in search of aisle 6 (between 5 and 7) at least I thought. What the heck, is it hidden? I go back to the female manager. She looks at me, as she drinks her coffee, giving me a look like I'm stupid. She shouts at me "JUST WALK AROUND THE OTHER SIDE OF AISLE 5" !!! How rude can you be? I brought two Amazon packages in for return. As I was looking up the scan codes on my phone the associate took one of the packages and put a sticker code on it. She then scanned the code and told me that it was not returnable to Staples. I said "what, you haven't scanned my bar code yet." She exclaimed rudely, "yes I did ma'am and this isnt returnable!" I was shocked"no I said I haven't pulled up my codes yet." Once again she told me "I did scan your code!" She then calls over to the manager and tells her she scanned my code. The manager took over and had no trouble actually scanning my return codes applying stickers and making the return. INCOMPETENCE AND RUDE! Unbelievable how confrontational and unprofessional, that associate was. She was quick to raise her voice to me call me "maam" and tell me I got it wrong when in fact she was wrong! Leading up to this is that I started going to Staples in Seaside even though it was far out of my way (I'm from Salinas) because of some good experiences there and the shortage of office supply outlets in Salinas. When I bought this printer, I spoke to the salesperson at length about the guarantee, he insisted that the ink would last a year or I would get free refills, I just had to demonstrate when I bought it (ie, save the receipt). So, I ran out of ink, and took the empty ink cartridges and receipt to Staples in Seaside. Totally uncooperative! When I explained that I had been told that the guarantee was for a year, I was totally ignored! The employees weren't rude, but very uncooperative -- and very irritating. The supervisor kept accusing me of "yelling," and since I wasn't I guess that was an attempt to intimidate. They finally gave me the ink cartridges, I thanked them and left, probably never to return. I have no interest in ever going through anything like that again, especially since I had gone out of my way to go there read more

Finally a girl came up after I asked an annoyed looking employee. She was very pleasant but the overall experience not good. I don't understand how they work or anything about them. Geraldo not only helped me find the ink for my printer, but also took the time to explain how my printer works! He used the floor model as an example, and went over how to change the ink cartridge and also showed me what my printer is capable of doing! He went above and beyond with his patience, expertise! She was most likely having a difficult day as was I. Sand City, CA Staples, second time in 72 hours that I've experienced an ABRASIVE & UNPROFESSIONAL ATTITUDE from an employee there. I used to LOVE this STORE! I am a 61-year-old who has worked professionally in Washington, D.C. and other states in a long career of professional environment attitudes and good experiences with other Staples locations on the east coast. But this store has recently declined in its behavior towards clientele. My primary use of Staples now is to use the self-serve printers, not for large professional print jobs by employees, but occasionally I do need to obtain the assistance of an employee. This store did in the past 2 years have mature empoyees, but lately they have immature 20-something, attitude filled "supervisors" who will tell you to "Get Back! You're too close to me!" when you walk up to them to ask a question as if entering the store is a celebrity showcase and I'm a mere attendee, not a customer who has certainly dropped a lot of revenue into this location. Instead, "I'm a supervisor!" blasts out prematurely interruptive of the first nature of the question I am asking. She is so proud she is a supervisor and has no self-awareness that, as the Customer, we don't care; we just need your assistance whether you're a peasant or a queen, and we have entered your store to get your assistance. This is WHY we are in your store, asking for your help. Yesterday I went into this store location to do a quick self-serve print job, but there were 2 woman, DOING THE SAME JOB, monopolizing BOTH self-serve printers in the store. When I came in, I didn't know this because both women were busy collating at the island counter, away from both the printers making them look available for use so I inadvertently walked up to one of the printers and observed it was indeed in use. I then moved to the 2nd printer and I was told by these two customers the second and only other self serve printer was also STILL in use by them. So, the printers were just sitting there unused while they collated and I asked if I could just step in and make two copies and they said no. There was NO-Employee behind the Print & Design Counter for employee assistance customer print job requests. NO ONE. I just needed 2 things printed. I was only planning to be 3 minutes in the store at the most. 2 pages, that was it. I was a little miffed at these 2 customers monopolizing BOTH self-serve printers for the SAME job but I was willing to get help from another Print Shop employee to just print it for me, There was no one behind the Print & Design area so I walked over to a cashier across the store and urgently plead with her to help me with just printing TWO pages I needed get in the mail THAT DAY. That employee was very polite and understanding and pointed to another employee who was now walking with a box and towards the Print & Design counter who the cashier told me was the Print Employee to ask for help. So, I walk over to meet the other employee with the box and this is the SAME "Supervisor" who proceeded to raise her tone at me and tell me to "GET BACK!" two days before, a 2nd time! Again! (This young woman does not behaviorally display mental fitness for customer service work in the least if she is so psychologically on the defensive with customers who will walk up to her and ask for help, people she doesn't know, new people=customers!) She says, "I can't help you because I' m helping THESE girls with THEIR print job"--THE SAME GIRLS WHO MONOPOLIZED the only 2 self-serve printers in the store. ALL OTHER CUSTOMER NEEDS ARE NOW SUSPENDED FOR THESE TWO YOUNG WOMAN AND THEIR ONE PRINT JOB. So basically, I was not an important customer to this "Supervisor" at all. I was not going to get my 2 pages printed out, a very simple request. Just so incredibly unprofessional. This is NOT a store of Vintage Classic High Quality Customer Service or Heathy Customer Engagement at all. It is not a store capable of multi-tasking decision making that serves more than one customer at a time. And the rudeness is so abrasive I wonder how this employee was ever allowed into customer service. I was pleading for a job to be done because it is just as important as any other customer but I refuse to be treated in such a dismissive and abrasive manner by a child with no class or integrity. Old Style Warm Customer Service Out the window! ALL CUSTOMERS are NOT IMPORTANT. One job throws the entire store out of service for other customers. This is not a store with mature level multiple tasks management. They may holler hello when you walk in and shout goodbye when you leave but that is the end of their emotional intelligence I.Q. in addressing customers in a quality manner. That young woman has psychological problems unfit for work with customers who ARE INDEED going to be walking up close to her and asking her questions on a regular basis. That's what Customers do. Expect it. This is not a "diva convention." Store is run by feral children. read more

I get stuff printed at several different Staples locations all over CA and I'm usually more organized than what I was today. I typically upload my files to staples.com, pay for it online and just have to pick it up...today was a different story. I needed some things printed for a meeting that I have tomorrow am and everything was on my computer, which of course wasn't even charged. I was able to find a plug and Jessie gave me a USB drive so I could give everything to him. He printed everything very fast and helped me hole punch a few things. I'm not from the area, so he even gave me some recommendations of where to go to get dinner! The gals working at the copy and print center were also very helpful. I needed some other items in the store and they pointed me in the right direction. This store is clean, the prices are great and the staff is very nice and helpful! read more

I have had an account at this store for at least 25 years. Over time, I have noticed service decline, and today was the final straw. I stopped in to get a couple of reams of printer paper and some other things I needed, including a car key fob battery. It is a very simple matter to look up on the Internet what type of battery I needed, and I had not done this before going to the store. Of course, I assumed that they could do this for me in the store since I had left my phone to charge (one of the items I needed was a car charger adapter) Not only could the staff not help me open my key fob - due to liability worries - they could not look up what type of battery I needed on the internet for me. Initially, they tried to be helpful, but are all quite young and sport bright green and red tinted hair dos . Silly. Done with Staples. Amazon, I am yours. Walgreens is right down the street if I have an emergency need due to failing to buy supplies in advance. Not surprised at the 3 star rating, and they get 1 star from mee. read more

The staff person wanted me to go to the self serve machine because their behind the counter "black and white copier isn't working". What? I had essential tax papers that needed to be copied with the holes punched in on the forms for a binder. The girl that worked in the copying section made my copies. I paid the express price for 389 pages which she made me count before she wrote the ticket to do the job. I spent at least 10 minutes counting the pages and ensuring everything was in the correct order. When my copies were returned, as I checked, she had the tax form pages all mixed up with the different years! I spent two hours recopying original prints, individually cutting holes in each page (since it was late at night), and I did not have a hole puncher to get things ready. That's why I went to Staples to save myself some time. To top it all off, she had a bad attitude and did not want to help me. Staples in Seaside, CA, went downhill, and I stopped going. I was willing to try the store, but the girl working there did not want to help me, and she messed up my tax records.
