If you need electronics fixed then this is the place you go to. Josh and Ninja know what they are doing and do it in a timely fashion. I needed a phone fixed and was surprised at how fast it was done and perfectly repaired it was. Efficient, fair, thorough and courteous. Excellent work. I highly recommend this business.

I came in with my PS5 after another shop said it would take 10 days to repair my HDMI. The team here took in my PS5 same day and had it back to me within an hour! Not only that, they were completely honest about what was, and what was not wrong with the system. I couldn't be more pleased. This ship will be my go to from now on for all electronics! THANK YOU read more

I have used this service several times for various laptop and cell phone needs. I always have a fantastic experience and appreciate the servuce. read more

This place is great. Originally said it would be an hour. It only took 20 minutes to fix the screen. Definitely recommended reasonably priced as well. read more

I had an amazing experience at What Did You Break. My phone was a mess, but Josh handled it with total ease and had it fixed in less than 15 minutes. He really went above and beyond by tracking down two different specific parts I needed to get everything working perfectly. To top it off, it was just the right price--very fair and worth every penny. If you need a fast, professional repair at a great rate, go see Josh read more

Josh is the best. I took in a Bose sound bar. Josh spent a lot of time to diagnosing the issue and repair options. Turns out it was just not a good option to fix it. Josh told me this right up front, no BS. And no charge. I will definitely us Josh in the future. read more

Knowledge: 5, professional: 5, value: 5 We had a laptop whose bottom popped open and set up a time for Josh to look at it. Josh was polite, friendly and very honest, and explaining options for the repair, the cost to order components and the cost to fix it. I felt so appreciative of his direct and honest approach and will be brining back other items to Josh! read more

My Large PC/Server died on the morning of Feb 16, 2026. She had worked perfectly for 5 years at 16 hours a day. Rest in peace baby doll. I live in Monterey, CA. so I went down to the PC repair shop on Del Monte Ave near Lake El Estero. I found out they were taking a long needed vacation and they let customers know they highly recommend that I take my PC service to Josh's shop 'What Ya Break', in Marina, CA right at the mouth of reservation road. Josh did an excellent and cost effective diagnoses on my old PC and helped me design out and build a new, quieter and more energy efficient PC going forward with an intel i5 Hex CPU, DDR4 memory, MSI motherboard and other important parts moved over from my older machine. It Works Most Excellent. So quiet I do not even know it is on ! Color me happy. read more

I highly recommend this company!! They do great work and are efficient! My finances phone had a swollen battery and a cracked screen other places were trying to charge us $300+ for an iPhone 13 they charge us way less than that barely $200. Very affordably priced and didn't take over 3 hours like other companies said it would. It actually took an hour and is working like a charm! Will definitely be bringing my phone back next to get the screen fixed. Great people, very friendly. They showed us how bad the battery was after and it's insane! It was a danger and could've hurt my partner. A big thank you for fixing it immediately!! read more

Great experience getting my iPhone battery replaced here. Josh was quick, professional, and honest. I appreciate that they take pride in their work and immediately resolve any issues that come up. It's a business built on trust, and I'll definitely be returning with more devices soon. read more

I had a battery replaced on an iPad. It took about 25 hours to get it back to me repaired, which is great because Apple and geek squad quoted weeks. Great customer service too. I'm definitely going back with all my other repair needs. read more

I am lucky -- I live pretty near Josh and "What'd You Break?" but if I didn't, I would go out of my way to come to him. I've taken a VCR and a couple of stereo components to him, and am about to take in an older Mac Pro. A couple of times, he couldn't fix what I brought in -- not his fault but rather an issue of parts availability. And each time, he wouldn't take a penny for having looked at the items. I really felt bad about it. That's so unlike other places where they would certainly charge a non-refundable "diagnostic fee." Josh obviously likes his job and he's friendly to customers too, unlike those who act pained to even have to be talking with you. If everyone in the servicing/repair field were like him, it sure would be a better world. read more

Josh fixed my WiFi in 5 minutes. He had me up and running and didn't charge for his time. I hope I don't need to come back but if I have computer issues in the future -- this is the place to come! read more

Great local repair shop. Owner Josh was born and raised in Marina. I spoke to both Josh and his wife. They could not have been more polite or accommodating. Josh came through for me again. My ultra-reliable 2012 HP Laptop's hard drive finally gave out. Josh replaced it and got it up and running within three days for a very fair price (especially when I expected to have to buy a new laptop). Retrieved a Norton Backup from one week prior and I'm good to go. Last time he fixed my Seagate portable hard drive. I will definitely continue to call Josh instead of a retail store for all my electronics repairs. read more

Took my sons PS5 here because the hdmi port needed to be fixed. I called around a few places to get quotes and this place quoted me the lowest price. Josh was super friendly and fixed it within 24 hours and charged me exactly what was quoted. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again if i ever need anything fixed. It's always nice to feel like you aren't getting ripped off from a repair place. Thanks Josh! read more

This shop is absolutely spot-on when repairing any Apple product. Honest, professional and fast at a fraction of the cost of the Genius Bar. They've fixed my iPhone 6S and 6S+ and MacBook Air from water damage and a defective volume button/speaker. From my experience, Genius Bar is often about telling you that your product is simply beyond repair in order to up-sell, while these folks understand that maybe you respect the environment and don't necessarily need a brand-new phone every 12 months. Try this shop first, it's definitely worth the short drive just off HWY 1. You'll be happy that you did. read more

Cracked my iPhone screen and Josh came to the rescue. In less than an hour, my phone was new. He guarantees his work and even fixed a small issue in minutes after I discovered it. The repair, new tempered glass screen protector and even a gaiter all for less than $100. You can't get that anywhere. Highly recommend Josh for any electronics repair. read more

My Samsung phone died while on a trip to France. I thought that I fried the battery. Josh helped me and replaced the battery, and within one hour it's better than before because the new Samsung battery is so much stronger--the phone responds better/faster and brighter. The cost for the battery and labor to repair was VERY reasonable. I'm so happy! I strongly recommend this business to anyone. read more
