I went here to get an envelope to mail something, which I found the size I needed. I noticed the signage outside that Party City now at Staples..??! I briefly got excited as did a friend of mine that I shared the info with (we both really liked Party City and miss it). Well.... It doesn't have much to be desired. The selection is weak and disappointing. I wouldn't consider it Party City at all. But if anyone needs a little something for a party you can check it out. Train your so called 'Managers' better. This goes straight to the unprofessionalism of Julio and the experience with him regarding an Amazon package today. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. Word of advice, Learn to speak to customers. Half of your job is customer service and you failed at that. I'm going to make sure your district manager hears about this experience because you don't deserve the title of 'Manager'. I went to the staples by Cerritos college to print a few certificates on card stock. 3 employees behind the counter, one of theme taking orders and no jobs running on any machine. they told me it would be 2.5 days to get 3 certificates printed. When I asked the female if it was possible to get my cert printed earlier, a taller male employee butted in and aggressively told me I had to wait like the other customers, that they had large jobs ahead of me... noting nothing was running, no jobs were being printed while I stood there. I drove over to Staples Seal Beach and met "OWEN". This young man "Owen" was working by himself, running three jobs at the same time, packaging, taking orders and helping people with printing questions. Owen was literally running between the printers, hustling to keep jobs going. He paused and quickly asked me what I needed, advising that the store was closing in 30 min. I told him I needed a quick print of certificates. OWEN jumped on it right away. telling me it should be picked up tomorrow but he would fit it in between jobs "right now". Owen packaged up the job he was working on on the printer and set my cardstock in, then completed my job perfectly. On the way out, I stopped to tell the female mgr of my experience. She simply stated, "yes, he has definitely made quite a few people happy tonight..." 3 confused employees doing "nothing" but making excuses why they can't get the work done, versus, one "OWEN" doing the job of 3 people, making no excuses whatsoever, and killing it! Great job OWEN! Staples at Cerritos College can definitely take some pointers from you and your Seal Beach store. read more

I'm writing this from my awesome boyfriend's account. I came in to make some flyers for this random contest we're in to win $20k and the title of America's Favorite Couple. I was super hangry and hot and didn't know where to begin and the guy at the print station was a superstar. At first he directed me on how to upload my photo (even though afterwards I saw a huge stack of cards that explained very simply how to do this) and then I went to print them out and couldn't figure out how to size them correctly on the paper and since I hadn't eaten I was losing my patience. I explained that I didn't want him to be a victim of my hunger but also that I was getting frustrated. He said no problem. Go get some food. I'll have it done by 4. So I went to sprouts, filled my belly, came back, and it was all done just like in my vision. Major shout out to that guy. As many reviews state, customer service here is excellent. Knowledgeable, helpful employees who value their customers. Love that they recycle used printer cartridges, batteries, even luggage! I got points on my Staples account for returning a cartridge as well. In general I only buy stuff on sale, though many educational items' regular prices are good. Any snacks and impulse items are overpriced. You're paying for the convenience. The store is also clean and parking spots are plenty in this strip mall. read more

This location is very clean and organized; so easy to find what you need. I needed some packing materials and found what I wanted right away. They were very well stocked and had multiple choices. Upon checkout the friendly cashier checked to see if I was in their rewards program and also let me know that they had a "buy three get one free" deal on boxes which I appreciated...but I really only needed the one I was purchasing. Julio was extremely helpful. Me and my husband needed passport photos and he was so kind when assisting us. He let me retake the photo, didn't rush us, let us see the photos before, and just kept a really boring moment light hearted and fun. Been coming here on multiple occasions and must say, the staff here are great. From the print dept to the cashier, everyone is friendly and customer focused. I came in today and purchased a couple filing bin that has gone up in price this week, but they still had last week sales price tag on the shelf. Without hesitation cashier #2027201 as found on the receipt apologized and quickly corrected the price during check out without making me feel as if I was lying. This Staples has a professional atmosphere while being kid-friendly - it sells candies! Caleb patiently helped me find the ink cartridges and toner that I needed. I told him that Amazon had the same toner for a lower price, but I needed it right away. He informed me that Staples will price match the product if sold AND shipped by Amazon. He then looked up the product on Amazon, and I was able to purchase the toner at Amazon's price! Obviously, this Staples trains its employees to be fully transparent and honest, and this is one of the reasons why I am a regular customer here, especially for paper. Caleb then continued to help me find some other items that I needed, all the while entertaining my Daughter by answering her many questions about printers, inks, colored markers, and unicorns! I just left Staples 10 minutes ago and I paid $108 for three clipboards for my office. The problem is, if you download the app, you get $25 back. I wasn't told that. I actually overheard another cashier on another register say that to a customer. I asked my cashier why he didn't tell me about the discount, and he said he didn't know about it and didn't want to take the time to void the order. However, I suspect he knew about it but didn't say anything because he had been with the company for some time. I believe that cashiers should provide better customer service and inform customers about potential savings. I could have saved $25 for my company. It should be a standard recommendation for any customer that cashiers suggest potential discounts or benefits when they go to the checkout line. read more

So impressive in the way she greeted incoming customers, checked out paying customers, attended to staff needs, all while doing my all my Amazon returns lol. She was also amazingly personable, friendly and knowledgeable. On a previous visit I had noticed two female staff members purposely trying to look busy to avoid helping customers at the registers and at the Amazon return counter so Shadow's amazing customer service really changed my experience with this Staples location. read more

Had a terrific experience Saturday when I visited Staples. I had been shopping for a new printer and had identified the one I wanted on Amazon. But then remembering that Staples had printers as well, I took a chance and stooped by, and sure enough they had the exact same one, for the same price! In addition, Rick helped me take the printer to the cashier and then out to my car. He was pleasant, helpful and very nice! If you're not brand specific, they'll almost always have you covered on saving a little $$$. Richard, the Print & Marketing Associate in the photocopying department, really is a CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPERSTAR!! I was having serious problems printing a mailing label that was emailed to me to ship a product back to a company for an RMA and a credit. Richard retrieved the RMA label from my email inbox, printed it, reduced it down to a size suitable to attach it onto the product box, AND THEN ATTACHED IT TO THE BOX WITH THICK PACKING TAPE SO I COULD SHIP IT TO GET MY CREDIT!! He did ALL OF THIS FOR NO CHARGE!! He did all of this while helping a few other customers in his department as he was THE ONLY EMPLOYEE THERE!! I wanted to use my Staples Teacher Rewards using the Staples App. However, Julio, the manager stated that I could not use my Teacher Rewards because I needed to accumulate $25. I had never heard this so I left and did not purchase my items. After leaving the store, I called Stapes Headquarters and asked about this change. They stated that the rules had not changed. I did not need to accumulate $25 in order to utilize my teacher rewards. The information shared with me on that day was incorrect. Hopefully, Staples Headquarters will call Julio in order to ensure that he does not share false information with customers. read more

Employees were helpful and price matched an item to their own online prices. This is not Staples fault, but I just want to say that whoever supplies the Bounty paper towels should go out of business. They charge $23 for a pack of 12 rolls. At some stores I've seen them for $40. They used to cost like $15 tops! Just because there is a shortage doesn't mean it costs more to make. I hope Staples drops that supplier as do all other stores. Any company that price gouges should be boycotted. Again, this is not Staples' fault.
