The service by the man was fine, everything was okay, but this is straight up unaffordable for sewing patterns. One AO page is 24.99!!!! I've never paid more than 8 dollars for one page, all from small businesses too. I'm not sure if he understood but he said he charges 'by the inch' and 'not AO size', but AO is pretty standard for print shops. I'm not sure if nobody gets sewing patterns printed here because there's no way. Luckily I only had one page but if I had my usual 2-3 pages it would've been almost 70 dollars for one sewing pattern which is laughable. It's funny, it's so ridiculous!! read more

I had to get fingerprinting done for work and I was so happy to find this location w basically immediate appts avail. Somehow I kinda waited til the last minute and my deadline was quickly approaching. And I believe I went on a Saturday! Very minimal wait. There was 1 guy trying to do it all. It was funny, though, cuz he had to take my picture. So, he had me hold up a white poster board behind me while he took my picture!! There was another woman there for the same service. So we ended up holding up the poster board for each other. Um... why not just have a clear space on a wall or mount a poster board on the wall to avoid this hassle w all your customers?? Seems like a Lb annoyance that can be easily remedied. Idk.... Very odd. Lol But other than that, I was so happy to be able to get my fingerprints done and submitted right away. The background used was white, but the photos turned out yellow...the background AND my image. I told the owner the embassy - NO embassy - would accept these photos. He refused to redo them, and demanded I pay the $22 regardless. He stated he'd been in business for 20+ years. That was irrelevant. He should have redone the photos, as I am sure he was well aware the photos would be rejected had I been foolish enough to submit them with my application. US passport photos are no good!!! I stopped at this place to get photos to renew my passport. I submitted my request to US passport service and paid extra to expedite the process. Instead of my new passport I received a letter saying that the photos were no good. The Copyco store attendant assured me that they had a lot of experience taking the photos. I will never go back to this place in Los Altos area and now I have to find a place that knows how to take the pictures and I have to deal with the fact that my new passport is going to get really delayed. read more

I had one of the most terrible experiences at this shop thanks to the man behind the counter. I went in there asking if they could make a card out of a digital document I made, and was told said yes they could do that. To make a long story short, the man at the counter would not listen to me. I made it very clear from the beginning that I wanted it printed on high quality, thick glossy paper-just like a card. It wasn't until after he started printing several different trial and error printouts that he said "we don't have the material to make a card like that". Why didn't he just say that when I asked when I first came in the shop to begin with, instead of printing it on every other type of paper aside from what I asked? I would have went somewhere else. Anyways, once I realized I was going to have to make due with what they had, I was anxious to get out of there because he made it very clear that I was not welcomed in the shop because he had another project he was working on. As if printing one page for a card was too much work. Once I got the print, I quickly grabbed it and left. Once I got home, I realized he printed it upside down, therefore making the card unusable when folded. I wrote a polite email explaining the issue and let him know what time I would show up the following day to pick up the correct card. I showed up the next day, today, and before I was even able to get a word out he interrupted me and CHUCKED the print out at me like a frisbee, and raised his voice at me saying "You should have told me yesterday!" Not any apologies from me now having to come back to correct HIS mistake. Should I have noticed this before I left yesterday? Sure. But like I said, he was making me so uncomfortable and I felt so unwelcomed that I just wanted to get out of there. Let's not forget to mention that when I checked which print out he THREW at me, it was not even the correct one- he printed it the image in a lower quality format so it looked terrible! I did not even say anything at this point. I have never met someone SO INCOMPETENT in my life!! I also noticed on my receipt he charged me for six different things when all I got was one print out for a card. When I asked him to explain what the charges were, he kept interrupting me and raising his voice at me, instead of kindly explaining. Every time I tried to speak, he would interrupt me and I asked him several times "Can you please let me speak?" Eventually I gave up and just walked out. The older man at the counter has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I could not fathom ever talking to a customer or providing them the service that he provided me. He did not even include an envelope or anything with my nine dollar purchase for a single print out. Yes, nine dollars. To print out on low-quality paper. I could have printed this at home. I called here on a Saturday, inquiring about whether they can print 36"x48" posters. The owner was quick to respond, very helpful, and answered all my questions and concerns. I had messaged and called over a dozen places before I got to Copyco and all the other places were either closed on Saturday, did not provide the service since the size is too big, or would take 3-5 business days to complete since the size I needed was irregular. I was extremely relieved that Copyco said they are able to print 36"x48", have it done within 30 minutes, and charge such reasonable prices for their services. I came in on a Monday and the owner immediately helped me. While my poster was printing, he was able to help about 5 other customers; they were in & out so quick. It took about 30 minutes as promised and he cut the edges for me, rolled it up, and asked if I was traveling or if I needed a tube for it. I inquired about a couple of other printing services. I would put zero stars if I could. We went here for passport photos for three kids. The man took the photos and two of the kids' photos were fine, but for one of the kids, he took photos that did not meet the legal requirements for passports and would be rejected. When we brought this to his attention he got upset and demanded we pay extra 20 dollars for photos that we cannot use. When we said we did not want to pay for the non-compliant passport photos need to, He started yelling at me in front of the children, calling me crazy. He also refused to give us the photos. When he did give us the photos, he aggressively slammed them on the table. He wouldn't even cut the passport photos because he was so upset. He was very unprofessional and rude. I hate myself for ever going to places like Staples or Kinkos, when there are places like Copyco around. If I were at Kinkos I'd ask for 300 color copies in an hour and get a blank stare and lots of gum smacking. At Staples I get an absolutely outrageous price - seriously?! $1.10 per copy?! So, to Copyco it was. I go in and ask for 300 color copies before 1pm and the owner says "No problem!" I ask for a higher quality paper and he says, "No problem!" I ask if the color can be corrected a bit and he says, "No problem!" I ask how much the color copies will be on the upgraded paper and he says 50-cents a copy, and I say, "No problem!" Seriously. I loooove Copyco. They'll definitely be my go-to now. Run by a husband and wife team - they work their asses off to keep you happy. Other than the superb customer service, this place beats stupid effin' Kinko's because of their awesome prices and their wheeling and dealing capabilities. Corporate hoops to jump through? Not here! They may be missing a few of the things a bigger copy-shop might have, like schmancy binding and immediate signs - but their service and price more than make up for it. Went in here to rent a mail box. I did my research and thought it'd work best for me. The mail boxes are NOT AFIXED TO THE WALL! Its a home-made DIY shit projet on casters. NOT USPS APPROVED!! I live right around the corner From this business and was hoping this could be my regular spot for all my business needs. I go through forms, envelopes, stationary, etc like crazy for my business, but wow.... My first time here I went in to do a basic copy job. I was told to do it myself by the Asian woman behind the counter since no one was available to help me. No problem. I went to the copier and figured out how to use it. It was pretty self explanitory. I chose the number of copies I wanted and waited. As I was taking them out of the copier I noticed that the ink was way to dark. I couldn't read the printing and even the shadows from the back side of the page was showing through on some sheets. I told the woman at the front that the copier was too dark and needed to be adjusted. All the papers I had printed so far were no good and unreadable. I ask her if she could please adjust the copier so I could do a reprint. She said I have to pay first. I asked if she was going to charge me twice. She said "yes, of course". I explained to her it's not my fault that her printer setting is over saturating the sheets. It was too dark, grainy and need to be adjusted. She argued with me and told me it was my original copies that was the problem. I showed the originals to her and she still made it seem like it was no big deal and that it was somehow my fault they came out like that. I said I wasn't going to pay for a crappy quality product and also pay for a redo. Again, she told me to pay up before doing it again and I'd have to pay for the redo as well. Not even an offer of a discount. She didn't offer any help nor did she even want to adjust the copier for me but told me to go back and use the same one again. That made no sense. I wasn't going to do a reprint and be charged to have it come out the same way again. I told her I was going to take my business elsewhere. This didn't seem to phase her either. If I could give this ZERO STARS, I would. It's hard to upset me. I'm always polite and cheerful but I left this place quite stressed out by the way I was treated and had to go pay again to have my copies made somewhere else. *So I'm updating this review. I've added an extra star since they wanted to correct the problem AFTER they saw the bad review. I still won't come back as I feel I had unsatisfactory customer service that put me in a bad mood. HOWEVER, my roomate still comes here. When they discovered the review they asked him to send me back and would redo my copies. I gave the copies to my roommate and he took them in for me. They redid the copies and the second time around they were much better. They've kept asking him to change the review every time he goes because they fixed my copies and its the only reason why I'm making the update. read more
