Terrible customer service, poor communication, and a complete waste of my time. I dropped off my Lenovo laptop on August 19, 2026 to have the hinge repaired. My receipt says "Tomorrow" for pickup, meaning I was told it would be ready on August 20. I couldn't make it on the 20th, so I came on August 21, giving him an extra day. When I handed Nick my receipt, he started scrambling around looking for my laptop and then asked me to give him another 10-15 minutes to fix it. Clearly, the laptop was not ready as promised. He also could not find my charging cord at first and had to look around multiple times before locating it. When he put the laptop back together, it was poorly assembled with visible gaps and open spaces. Nick told me it still needed to be glued and asked me to come back AGAIN later that day. I told him I live far away and could not keep making trips back and forth. Nick then gave me another option: he said he would finish the laptop and personally leave it with the tailor lady in the store so I could pick it up from her. He was very specific about this arrangement and even clearly told me that the tailor lady only accepts cash or Zelle and does not accept cards. Based on how detailed his instructions were, I had every reason to believe my laptop would actually be left with her as promised. I came back on August 22 specifically to pick up my laptop from the tailor lady. She told me Nick never gave her my laptop. So now I have made multiple unnecessary trips, spent time and gas driving back and forth, followed Nick's exact pickup instructions, and I STILL do not have my laptop. I was told I now have to come back AGAIN on Monday when Nick returns. This entire experience has been extremely frustrating and unprofessional. Nick has repeatedly told me something would be done and then failed to follow through. What should have been a simple hinge repair has turned into a poorly assembled laptop, a temporarily misplaced charging cord, multiple wasted trips, and repeated promises that were not kept. I will update this review after Monday to document whether my laptop is finally repaired properly and returned to me. Update 8/25/26: I was finally able to pick up my laptop today. Nick called me Monday to let me know it was ready and apologized for everything that happened. When I picked it up, Nick also acknowledged that a piece near the hinge had been lost during the repair, so unfortunately my laptop was returned with that piece missing. He gave me a discount because of the missing piece and all of the miscommunication. I do appreciate that Nick took responsibility, apologized, and adjusted the price. However, I'm still disappointed that after everything I went through to get the hinge repaired, I received my laptop back with one of its original pieces missing. The discount was appreciated, but I would have preferred to have my laptop returned complete and not have gone through so many unnecessary trips and delays in the first place. read more

They're either lazy, scammers, or incompetent! PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THEM I took my pc in because it was having black screens, and when I tried to clean it up and replug it it would not connect to the monitor. I tried everything but it wouldn't work so I took it here and explained that to them. I took it in on a Thursday, and they gave me a ticket and didnt really say anything else. So I ask "when can I expect to have it back?" and they told me that it'd be $65 and they'd have it ready by Saturday. Saturday comes and I call them and ask if the pc is ready, they said "we'll call you back". Waited 3 hours and they did NOT call back, so I call again and ask if it's ready. Now they say "oh, it's actually the motherboard," (so they figure out the problem but didn't bother to call and tell me?), and I say "okay.... Are you guys able to fix it?" And they say "nah, it's gotta be replaced." I asked what was wrong with it, and they said "the BIOS," which was very vague. In hindsight, I should've seen the problem here. They then say "we can suggest some good ones for you and call you back". Again, they do NOT call me back so I had to look up and buy a motherboard on my own. I bring it in on Monday and they tell me it'll be ready the next day. It was... but one big problem. They didn't even update the WiFi drivers! So they literally gave me another problem: it literally doesn't connect to the WiFi. So I spent all night trying to figure out how to get the WiFi working, but I don't have another computer or Ethernet to download the WiFi drivers so I can't even get WiFi. I hit up my online friend who's more knowledgeable on computers than I am. And they said "did they tell you what was wrong with it?" And I said that they said "the bios" and they told me "your old motherboard has BIOS flashback on it... it sounds to me like they didn't even try that and they immediately resorted to making you get another motherboard and charging you extra for the motherboard". So, on top of them NOT UPDATING THE WIFI DRIVERS, THEY SCAMMED ME OUTTA $150. I'm beyond furious and want a refund for wasting my time, stressing me out, giving terrible service and communication, and giving me a computer that doesn't even connect to WiFi! So like I said: they're either lazy and incompetent or know what they're doing and hope YOU don't so that the can get as much money from you as possible. Terrible service and they just gave my computer another problem! I called them again and they said they DIDN'T do a bios flashback and they "didn't have the tools". And instead of calling me and informing me about this they immediately said I need to replace the motherboard and charged me $85 extra for the labor costs. They also got mad that I "didn't give them a password" when I asked why they didn't update the drivers, and I told them that they never asked or called, and he said "why should I go around chasing you when I got other stuff to do?" And when I finally called them multiple times and asked for a partial refund, AGAIN, they didn't say anything and didn't give me a refund so I call them back saying "where's the refund?" And this is how I know they're shady because they said "we'll give you a refund after you sign this document saying we're not liable" like dude! What?! So they didnt even give me a refund unless I sign a paper that says "he cannot report this and we did not wrong". Extremely shady and scummy business, don't let them scam you. read more

I am okay with repairing electronics if they don't require soldering. When my handheld PC broke at the bumper, I tried every step available on iFixIt and YouTube that I can do to see if it would resolve my issue before sending it for manufacturer's RMA repair. I decided before I did that though, to visit XCell Repairs. They gave me a great quote, but I didn't provide them with a disassembled board so they charged some additional labor. You can save even more money if you do that ahead of time. But even still, it was still almost half as cheap as sending it via mail to a repair center. They also honor their 30 day warranty. I wasn't still experiencing issues actuating the switch. I provided my own part and the repair went by much better and they didn't charge me at all for the follow-up. All of their repairs were practically same day as long as I dropped it off early enough. I like supporting small businesses and I am glad I found a place I can have my electronics repaired instead of shipping them halfway across the country or dumping them in an electronics bin. Even if you don't care about that stuff, it's just so much more convenient and cheaper to work with XCell Repairs. No waiting for a package, no worrying about if the shipping will damage your device. read more

I watched some YouTube videos and thought I could take an old iPod classic 7th gen and mod it on my own - big mistake! It was difficult to take apart and when I finally did I accidentally snapped off the power cable from the logic board. I didn't know how to solder the wire back on so I called around and finally found a shop that was dedicated to fixing iPods - only the pricing was much higher than what I had paid for the iPod itself. On a whim I came to XCell and explained my situation to Nick. Nick said not only would he try to solder back the cable, but that he'd also be willing to complete customizing my iPod with the materials I had already bought if the soldering of the cable was successful! All for the price that was less than what I was quoted for at the other shop just for soldering the power cable. Now I have a modded iPod classic with extra battery and extra storage that works! I had a great first experience, however the second time I used them my perception changed. We brought my wife's iPhone 13 Pro Max in because the phone just stopped working. They said we needed to change the power management chip; however, they couldn't do it at their shop and needed to ship it to their facility in Texas to get it done. They initially said it would take about a week and gave me an iPhone 8 as a loaner to use in the meantime. Well 1 week turned into 3, then the phone got lost in shipment. Not only did it get lost in shipment, but the tracking showed it came from San Diego, not from Texas and the package was NOT insured. While the package was lost, come to find out about a month later, my Identity was stolen. A letter came in the mail saying a new bank account was opened while we didn't even have the phone. I remembered that they asked for the passcode before shipping it back which is why I think this ID Theft could potentially be coming from this issue. They ended up giving me an iPhone 13 that was Frankensteined from their spare parts bin. They said it had a brand-new battery however this battery dies faster than my 3-year-old phone. They initially quoted us $280 to get this done with a down payment of $100. When we went in to return the iPhone 8 late loaner and get the Frankenstein Phone, they had the audacity to ask us to pay the remaining $180 balance. We never ended up paying this because we found it to be totally unfair. The original reason we wanted to do this was to save all our pictures on the old phone but now we are out $100, lost the photos, and have a worse phone. Buyer Beware! read more

My husband decided to take my phone to repair a crack. Had a minor screen bleed. I always go to cpr but decided to take a chance on this place even though it costs a bit more it was closer. I seriously regret this. The screen wasn't fully pressed in and light shines through the camera and microphone holes. The color is totally different for my screen. Then when I pressed down to unlock my phone of the touch screen it cracked the corner I barely pressed. Now it has a weird yellow tint around the crack. My Series 5 Apple Watch face came loose and I called XCell to get a price range to fix my watch. They said it might be the battery bulging out which is common and dislodged the watch face. I happen to be near an Apple Store a few days later and ask the techs to look at it. They examined it and said the battery was fine. They even admitted, the price XCell was quoting for replace & fix the battery was really good and would be a better option, especially considering age of the watch. When I went to XCell to have them fix the watch face, they looked at the battery and also said it was ok. No trying to sell me something I didn't need. They fixed the watch face as if they had changed the battery and with the same care. As a bonus, they did it at no charge while I waited. It was less than 10 minutes. I can't guarantee the same outcome for anyone else, but I got a good vibe from these guys and would return if I need another repair. read more

My REVVL 6 USB port wasn't taking charge on any cable after a hard fall. I for sure thought I needed a replacement USB port and called for a quote.
