I am writing this to warn others about the staggering level of incompetence and stubbornness I encountered at this location, specifically from a supervisor named MINDY. Avoid at all costs unless you need to drop off. She'll gaslight you and make you the Karen. On March 30 around 4:00 p.m., I went to a USPS location to deal with a money order that was over six months old. My bank couldn't deposit it because it was "stale-dated" per the bank's own policy. I came totally prepared with the original money order, the original receipt/stub, and my photo ID. The first location didn't know how to handle it, so I drove to this main office per their suggestion at about 4:20. When I got there, I asked for PS Form 6401 (money order inquiry form). Multiple employees told me they didn't have the form available and THEY would need to print it out. Of course, nobody actually attempted to print it. The clerk helping me had no clue how to process my request. When the supervisor, Mindy, happened to walk by, the clerk asked her if I could use the existing money order to purchase a new one. Mindy refused that request. I told them I understood and explained again that I wasn't asking to purchase a new one with the old one, but that I was just looking for a replacement money order. After refusing my request, Mindy just walked away. I asked the clerk if I could speak with her directly. The clerk said she'd go get her, but then came back and told me I'd have to wait. After waiting for an extended period of time, they told me the supervisor "might have gone to lunch" or couldn't be found and to call another/go to the original office, despite their policy stating ANY post office can handle this issue. I asked why I was being made to wait if she was nowhere to be found or went to lunch right before closing (also, what?). Then, magically, Mindy appears, right before closing. Instead of addressing my issue, she completely ignored me and asked the next person in line if they needed help dropping off mail. I spoke up and explained that as the purchaser/payor, I am requesting a replacement as these don't expire. She repeatedly told me they couldn't cash it and that I needed to go back to the original post office. I explained multiple times that I knew it was a large amount and I wasn't insisting on cashing it--a replacement money order was perfectly fine. I also let her know that this was already the fifth post office I'd been to (including the original location), and all of them said they didn't have enough cash on hand. I then pulled up the official USPS policy and FAQ page directly from their website on my phone and showed it to her. The policy specifically states that a money order is considered "spoiled" if you need a new recipient, and that spoiled or damaged money orders can be reissued immediately at no fee as long as you have the original money order and receipt. I explained that since my bank wouldn't accept it due to its age, I was requesting a replacement as a "spoiled" money order with myself listed as the new recipient, exactly as the policy outlines. Mindy literally just pointed at it and asked, "Is it damaged?" I responded that no, it wasn't physically damaged, but it was spoiled because the bank couldn't deposit it and I needed a new recipient. She flat-out refused to read the policy on my phone and just kept repeating, "That is not the policy." She was completely fixated on whether it was physically damaged and willfully ignored the actual definition of a spoiled money order while making it seem like I was causing a scene. Mind you, they were actively issuing new money orders to other people at the counter during this exact time! Despite this, Mindy just kept repeating that since it wasn't lost or physically damaged, she couldn't do anything. She completely ignored the official policy I showed her and the fact that I was asking for a spoiled replacement. SHE EVEN SUGGESTED I BUY ANOTHER ONE. I stayed there until closing time and left frustrated. After finally leaving, I went to another USPS office way out of my way, but closes at a later time. They had PS Form 6401 ready to go, understood the policy immediately, and handled my exact request without a single issue. Do not go here unless you want to be gaslit. read more

They are friendly and helpful! Never any big lines and has easy parking. They always make my visit quick and stress free.

This is a good friendly location with nice staff and seems to never be unbearably crowded, so doesn't feel like most other post offices where the USPS is understaffed or moves slow like molasses to process customers. This location has PO BOX lockers for larger parcels to enable customers to pick up parcels after hours too. Parking is (or has never been a problem for us) very easy. read more

And as I have come to know the staff over the years I would say Stephanie has been a wonderful support over the years, but has moved on to the Main Street location. Luckily SHIRLEY is still here! Cute little post office right next to the visitor center entering Grand Teton. There's not a whole lot to talk about in a post office haha!. The guy in there was super nice though. Gave me the info i needed to send very small postcards and what not. Gave me info i needed on the times the mail was picked up. The location is also pefect because it is right next to a visitor center as i said,and a lot of people go there from out of town. Definitely a place you go to for any info on mailing lol. I've let out my secrets of the best thrift store around, cheap hot dogs, and bargain booze....but this!? This tops them all, my friends. Luckily most of you do all of your mailing the new-fangled electronic way, (hmmm..."electronic mail," seems like we could shorten that somehow...) so I don't think I'm risking lengthening the lines too much by sharing this top secret post office. It's not all that top secret, it's pretty out in the open, but for some reason there is never a line at this post office. Also, unlike other post offices that like to be as close to the actual hell experience as possible, they've always got the AC running here. It's amazing. When I came back in, she ripped off my logo sticker from the package claiming "you can't have this on a box." Please read yesterday's review (3/10/2017) of the Long Beach USPS for an example of terrible customer service. With regard to this specific USPS experience, it was outstanding. No one was in line (15 minutes after opening too!). Belinda was the lone customer service rep and acknowledged my wife and I upon entry (like the way Starbucks used to). She was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. In what couldn't be figured out in more than 20 minutes at the Long Beach USPS, Belinda had us out the door in less than 3 (at a lower price and faster delivery time than the Long Beach office as well). She even credited us the $.49 spent on the wasted envelope in yesterday's debacle. All in all she restored my faith in the USPS. Kudos to her and the Seal Beach USPS!!! read more

NO US post office deserves 5 stars. 3 stars is more like it, because they offer value for the service they provide and quite frankly, there aren't a lot of other options that can do what they do for the price they offer. HOWEVER, they can definitely be more efficient in their work. No matter which US Post Office you visit, you will always find clerks who work extremely slow. I have to come here to ship things for the business I work for, and we do small parcels, large ones, both domestic and internationally. Considering that all packages that come into this place are already boxed (post offices do not offer packaging services) and labeled (they also require that you write to and from addresses on the package), no package should ever take these workers longer than a minute to process, yet somehow I will wait 15 minutes if there are only two customers in front of me. And, again, like all other post offices, there WILL be a line here. Be prepared to wait, you will be very lucky to walk in and not have to. And finally, MAKE SURE YOU GRAB A NUMBER as soon as you walk in. I have had many old ladies cut in front of me as I wrestle to put down all my packages without dropping them. read more

BEST POST OFFICE! For one thing, the Seal Beach Post Office has an APC - Automatic Postal Center. Place your letter / package on the scale, touch the screen and click thru the options, pay for postage, and it prints out a sticker. Slap it on your package / letter and drop it off in the drop off wall / container. Open 24/7. Stay away! These people are inept and mean. Inept: while I was there, a customer came in to report that her vacation "hold mail" request had started too soon. The office admitted they never bother to check the start/stop dates! Mean: I'd tried to send an overseas package several times. Address was correct, but the foreign mail carrier wouldn't bother to deliver to door when the package proved too large for mail slot. When I returned to send it again as registered mail, the Seal Beach postmaster could have credited the postage I 'd already paid, but he refused, saying I couldn't prove the reason for non-delivery. I ended up paying tons more than necessary just because this man was an unfeeling jerk. read more

I didn't know I could actually review a post office 5 stars, but here I am. This place is honestly one of the best post offices I have ever been to and I miss coming here. When I lived in Long Beach, I would always drive out here because this post office was always less busy than other post offices, especially during the holidays. Also the service has always been very friendly, kind and helpful. 2 to 3 people may be working the front desk whenever I come and all of the people there are friendly... which is rare because most of the time, postal workers are bitter, stern, anal, etc. But not here, everyone here is just nice and they get your transactions and requests done quickly. Wish all post offices could be like this. Oh and if you do come here when it does get a little bit busy (again it isn't as busy as other post offices in the area though), there is one of those red ticket holders you can grab your number and then you can wait and watch for your number to be called up. Usually this comes out during the holidays only. Parking outside is okay, but would be nicer if it was a little bigger. But since this location isn't nearly as busy as others, you probably won't have trouble finding a parking spot or just waiting a short time for one to free up. read more

I'm recalling the last time I was there, which was around Christmas. I typically dread sending out anything that time of year, but I knew Seal Beach Post Office would deliver. (pun intended!) I was in and out in about 10 minutes. Yep. Amazing. Now that I've bestowed this gem of knowledge on you, do me one favor. Only share this secret with people who you'd share a straw with. I have to disagree with Hazel that there is never a line at the only post office that I ever gone to for the past 13 years. And I have witnessed many grumpy Leisure World folks here over the years. The whole shopping center I refer to as the "parking lot from hell" because of all the old folks who just pull out without even looking. Good thing that I have quick reflexes. Hazel you must only go during the off hours. Early morning, lunchtime and late afternoon I can never even get a parking spot. One day I was doing errands and passed it three times and the lot was full all day. Today I went to drop bills off at 11:45am and every spot was taken. So I just dropped them in the drive through boxes. However, off hours are a breeze and it is very peaceful. 1:30pm to 3pm on weekdays. There have been many times I have walked in and I was the only person. The staff here is super friendly and helpful but now they know me by name. I have watched how they have treated other customers and they always provide good service. I also love that when it is busy they have a number system. You take a number from the dispenser; they call out the number and have them on a light up board. So there is no confusion as to who was waiting next. There are also benches provided if it is a long wait. The max I have ever waited is about 20min. read more

We got a PO Box at this place and been checking on the mailbox 4 times with it empty, only to find out on the 5th time that the paper work was not even processed (therefore the mailbox has not been opened). After speaking with the manager, they wanted us to pay $1 to refile the paperwork since they couldn't find it. It is absolutely horrendous. I will try to make my story brief....I've had a PO Box here for 20 years, yes 20 years and never had a problem until recently. I had a few people call to say their mail was returned, so I walked in to find out that they had closed MY po box by accident!! No confirmation, no phone calls from them....and yet their type-o stuck. The mail could have been forwarded to my home, too. They have all that information. Instead my friends got the 'undeliverable, unable to forward'. I was fuming, as I use this for client invoices too. It has yet to be resolved....one client just called today, they got their mail back for the 3rd time!! And this was AFTER I walked in person to clear this up. If they resolve this properly, I will be happy return to this review to give more stars to my current rating. read more

I have to second Vic on this one... in what world would I ever give the US Postal Service 5 stars, let alone a half decent review? Well, only in this special instance. I have never had a wait time of more than 5 minutes here (and have gone at all hours of the day). The people manning the desks are awesome to say the least. Get you in and out fast, are extremely informative about delivery rates and times (like when you're trying to ship flat rate to Canada and she tells you that if I lose about 6 oz it'll go for $20 less), and never treat you like an inconvenience. This was my go-to Post Office while I was living in Seal and selling pretty much everything I own on eBay. Not once did they lose a package (can't say the same for my new one....), and anytime a package got held up, they were happy to speak to me either in person or on the phone and figure out what the hold up was and where it was. They even called me back with updates! That's above and beyond what I expect from customer service, let alone that of the Post Office! Our postal worker was based out of this office as well, and he was always on time and splendidly pleasant (and brought Rocco a biscuit, which he looked forward to daily). Nothing but positive things to say about this place. If every USPS venue was run the way this one is, I feel like there would be a lot less hatred toward the organization. Especially coming from me, who's been battling my new post office after they've lost and destroyed multiple items (and replied with "there's no guarantees"). I would never get that kind of treatment at the Westminster US Post Office in Seal Beach. Nope, I'd get a "Hi Christina!" (yes, they learn names if you come in often enough), "What can we help you with?" with a big smile on their faces. Now THAT is US Postal SERVICE. read more

With out all the details...we had a frustrating experience sending perishables to an elderly Aunt in Chicago last Christmas. Bad delivery practices on the Chicago end not leaving package even though we specified to leave it. Eventually it returned 2 weeks later...ick. So this year we tried again and the same thing happened. So we went down to our Post Office (Seal Beach) and expressed our frustration. The person we talked to got the Postmaster, who called the Chicago Postmaster, who literally made the redelivery happen that very day. Above and beyond with the desired result which was an elderly Aunt who lives alone having some home baked goods for Christmas. Stellar!! read more
