As a Practitioner of Quality, I very much disagree with the low ratings that I see that Javier has received. I do acknowledge that client-issues can and do arise. I used to come to this store a lot but I stopped coming because of how rude and unprofessional the owner Javier is. I've had numerous encounters with him but today was the final straw for me. I'm going to list my counters with him along with my encounter with him today. His behavior is unacceptable, and he really likes stroking his ego because he's the "owner" - Incident 1: My first time coming to this store after recently moving to the area and interacting with Javier the first time. I had purchased an entertainment center from Amazon that was the incorrect model so I went to the store with my father in law to continue with the Amazon return. He looks at the box and says "You need to tape this up, I cant take it like this", so I say "This is actually how we got it from amazon, we didn't even open it, they just sent it like that", he says "I cant take it, I can if you tape it". So I ask "Do you have some tape I can use?" he says "No but you can purchase some tape (points behind us where the overpriced tape is". So I say whatever and ended up taking it to another UPS store that took it without question. - Incident 2: I stopped by for some Amazon returns and of course Javier is right there up in the front to help. I had a few items because we had just moved into the area and we had things that we didn't end up using. So he helps me and every time I'm pulling out items for him to scan, he keeps making comments like "is that it?, anymore" "wow you have alot of stuff" and mind you each time he's saying these comments, he's tapping the desk trying to get me to hurry. Now it might seem harmless but you do not need to keep making comments and making me feel uncomfortable. - Incident 3: I Decided to stop by here again for more amazon returns and some of my fiancé's amazon returns. Upon coming up, Javier helps me again and me remembering the incident from last time where he kept making comments, I decided to voice that most of my returns were my fiancé's returns. He laughed a little and said "So how does it feel to be your woman's bitch?". This immediately struck me the wrong way, I didn't want to voice anything (which I regret) instead I just gave an awkward laugh. One of his employees that also wears glasses was there and he also laughed too. After this encounter I was pretty furious and instead of reporting it (which I also regret), I decided to be the bigger man and let it go. This encounter lead me to start going to another UPS store down the street which I never had any of these issues with. The lady that runs that store is always nice and kind to me. She never makes any comments or tries to overcharge me for things. - Incident 4: This incident just happened right now and it was my final straw dealing with Javier. I had more amazon returns I needed to take today, since it was in the same direction where I was headed and it was almost closing time, I decided to stop by hoping that Javier wasn't working today. Of course when I come in, he is there (just my luck). We proceed with the returns and one of my packages was a memory foam lap rest. He immediately says "I cant take that, I don't have a box big enough for that", so I say "That's how I got it, its memory foam, it expanded once I took it out of the box, there's nothing I can do about it" he then starts an arugment with me and says "Why didn't you pack it how it came? Put it in a box", I said "I can't it literally expanded when I took it out, it doesn't fit in any boxes and the amazon return does not say that I need to pack it" He says "well I'm not taking it" and I say "well okay I will take it to another store" so he finishes scanning my other items and I say "So you can't take it? If you don't even have a box that big, what makes you think I have a box that big?" He says "No but I can SELL you a box for it and you can return it like that"...... Um excuse me?! You just lied to my face and you told me that you don't have any boxes for this! I leave the store furious and decide to call the ups store hotline to report all my incidents with Javier. As I'm on the phone, he's closing up the store while making eye contact with me and he pulls out a golf club to try to look intimidating, like okay dude are you serious? I'm on a call with customer service to report you and you're going to try to look threatning? It made absolultely no sense but this was my final straw with him. Luckily my dash cam caught him leaving the store with his single golf club IN BROAD DAYLIGHT. I can only imagine how many people have dealt with Javier's unprofessionalism and haven't reported it. I highly recommend to report your negative encounters with him. I let these incidents slide too many times, even went out of my way to go to a further UPS store to avoid him. My last visit I came in close to 5 p.m. with a bunch of plastic bags and looking confused as to where to start and was looking around for a container to ship this in. The gentleman at the counter welcomed me and told me to come up front and that I looked confused. I told him I needed to ship them up north and he took the bags from me, weighed them then asked for the shipping address and calculated the cost. He asked how I heard about them and I said Yelp and I was debating to go to FedEx or UPS but this shop had better reviews. He was really nice and packaged the bags for me and I was on my way. Turns out he was the owner Javier and gave me his card. I've been to UPS stores that are absolutely garbage and the owner was a jerk so it was nice to finally go to one where it's the opposite. IMO customer service is key at ANY business!!! There were 3 people ahead of me and the employee looked each one of us in the eye and assured us he'd be right with us. I always select to return packages here if given options. This UPS store is consistently quick and easy. I also came in recently for notary services and would recommend them for that too, 10 out of 10. UPS's official corporate policy is that you make an online appt for notary services and I did that, but really you can also just walk in and they will generally still be able to help you right away. I worked with the owner, Javier, who was incredibly nice and knowledgeable and helped me not just with the notary signature, but with making sure the document I was getting notarized was set up the way I wanted it. read more

I needed to get a one page document notarized and came to this UPS Store in Los Alamitos on Katella (next to the donut shop) to get it done. I went on my lunch break around 12:15 pm and got in & out in just 5 minutes! I was the only one in the store. The guy in the store was so sweet & very nice. The notary only cost me $15 too! The state mandates the cost of the notary so if you can go to the UPS Store yourself, then do it! Don't pay someone to come to your house/work to sign a one page document! They will charge you at least $50 for the visit alone AND the $15 for the notary! Save yourself the money and go to a UPS Store to get your documents notarized! read more

I walked into this UPS store. I waited my turn. When I was next in line I asked to buy bubble wrap. The person working proceeded to take the 2 people waiting behind me, before me. Guess he didn't like a line waiting to mail things, yet he found it easy to have me wait? And the customers even allowed it. I knew I shouldn't have returned to this store. This time Javier was even ruder than before! He clearly doesn't want my business. The returns were supposed to be free through Amazon. There was a problem with the scan code because it was one order that came in two boxes, but he was curt and rude about it. I stepped aside to call customer service about the return code and they worked it out and requested to stay on the line to be sure all went well. He heard Javier curtly insist that I had to pay a dollar for a piece of tape for each of the two boxes. Although the gentleman from customer service was shocked and apologetic, I had to pay the $2. I got to pay to be treated with a total lack of courtesy or consideration from the time I walked in. More than that he spoke rudely about it being my problem and took my boxes and moved them off his counter bruskly even though he had been helping customers at his other counter and currently, there were no other customers. The entire experience was more than unpleasant. Next time, it will definitely be worth it to me to drive a bit further to another outlet. read more
