Cleanest, fresh off the boat, brand spanking new? Whatever you want to call it! This is by far the most confortable Staples store I've been too. Even the mens restroom in here feels like a corporate target practice for urinals (it aint piss poor) there is even a plant decor inside to keep it fresh. I came here to use their print copier and fax machine for work and I've used them with eaze! They have all working demo tablets, which was a good thing because I was also too tablet shopping and other Staples stores did not have working demos. Pleasant front end staff, they greeted me as I walked in and thanked me when I walked out after my purchases. Nice strip location and parking here should be hassle free. read more

Brand new store, just opened today. Opening crew is doing a great job, seem well trained, helpful and friendly. Plenty of staff to cover the store--as is to be expected for an opening--and they seem to have more than adequate stock to cover all of the promos tied into the store opening. Things going smoothly, I was able to have my purchases ring up at the copy/shipping center and save a couple minutes in line. I have been retired for almost 3 years now. Things I did every day, I now do once a year. I have a printer but, using a laptop and printer seem like a huge ordeal now. Trying to print a UPS shipping label for an Amazon return was a very frustrating ordeal. I realized it was the ink again grrrr. Then I remembered seeing people at Staples having items printed from e-mails. Wow, what a wonderful experience. The helpful young man was so patient and also took the time to show me how to send the item to them so it could be printed. I regret not getting his name but, God knows who he is!! The manager there ,i.e. Josh, in my opinion, based on my last visit here, behaved in such an egotistical and unapologetic manner. At a glance, he seems like he is doing his job seems like a decent guy, that is until he screws up your transaction, patronizes you, never apologizes or admits his fault. Towards the end of it , to his knowledge he never made any mistake finds no meaning in trying to prevent it from happening again for the customers' sake. Appears to be the type to put himself first rather than customers. (Just my $.02) This behavior is off-putting to me. I don't care as much stores or employees making mistakes, it's a given- it happens, but own up to it dude. I bought an office chair and shredder. Because of COVID, the chair had to be ordered. Alex helped me with both items; he was very helpful and knowledgeable and I was in and out of the store quickly. The chair came in 2 days earlier than expected. I had ordered it assembled. I have arthritis and have difficulty adjusting chairs. Alex remembered that and made sure the chair was adjusted for me. He also carried it to my car. I love both the shredder and chair. Alex was immensely helpful and went out of his way to help me. Much appreciated, Alex! read more

Lousy customer service. I needed only (4) four copies made, 18x24, and was told it would be ready in 24 hours. No other people there, no machines printing. It would take 4 minutes for them to print this. I was told they could do it in a hour... for an EXTRA charge. What a scam. From now on KINKOS /FedEx. No wonder Staples is having financial problems. I will never shop there again. Up date @ Rebecca of Staples NOT one copier was printing anything the whole time I was there, so what queue? There were (2) employees behind the counter. It would only of taken 4 minutes for you to print my 4 copies while I was there, saving me another entire trip to your store. No Rebecca, the SOLE PURPOSE of your queue is to scam people out of more money. I purchased the wrong Canon ink. The boxes 251 and 271 were right next to each. I needed the 251 but somehow just reach for the 271 and took them home. I did not know I had the wrong ink until I put one color in the printer and it would not work. I was upset over the weekend because I figured I was out $50 bucks or more due to no exchanges and I had one cartridge open. So I went in Monday June 20th and explained my situation to the sales associate at the counter. She could not have been nicer. She said "no worries, it happens all the time. Do you want to take care of this now or when you bring the new ink back?" We took care of the exchange when I brought the right ink back to pay for it. It was a very nice experience. My suggestion to management is keep the Canon 251 and 271 ink apart from each other. read more

I purchase several thousand dollars in printing every year at Staples for my business. I arrived at the store at 8:03 am, just after the store opened. I needed 400 copies, there was one person ahead of me. The associate helped the other person first and then took my order. He said my order would take about 20 minutes, I returned about 30 minutes later and the order was in process. About 8:55 am I checked out, I was told, since my order was completed within one hour it was a rush order (i checked out 52 minutes after I placed my order). The total was about $86.00, the regular price of copies including a 30% up charge because my order was classified as a "rush order" even though no other customer was displaced, and it took 52 minutes to fill my order. I was surprised about the 30% surcharge and spoke with the acting manager about the charge, and the fact that no person was displaced, and asked him to remove the charge. His answer was "no, that is our policy". I told him I would not purchase anything from Staples again, and his response "that is your choice". i telephoned Staples office of the president and spoke with a customer service person who attentively listened to my concerns. I was assured that the manager would be contacted about the matter. About two hours later the store manager called me and said if I was to return to the store he would refund all my money. The manager had received several complaints about the new policy and understood that the policy would collect short term money now but drive customers away in the long term. I did not return for the refund as there is little that would ever get me to return to Staples, when I can go to Office Depot and have printing done without any up charge. The financial news has recently reported that Staples is not doing well financially. Apparently, the way management is trying to make up for the loss is to drive away the remaining customers. Bad management, bad decisions, bad policies and lousy customer service is the recipe for failure and it is only a matter of time before Staples goes the way of Woolworth, Montgomery Ward, Circuit City and a plethora of other poorly managed companies that are now just memories. read more

Back in November I stopped by to take a picture of something I wanted for Christmas. Their biodegradable packing packing peanuts are made out of rice starch and thus are edible. I took the picture, sent it to a relative, and was on my way. On my way out, one of the cashiers said, "I can see you," She then proceeded to walk over to me and give me sas. This was a Saturday at around 4:30 PM and I had just gotten off of an 8 hour work shift and did not want to deal with her. She wanted me to speak with her manager for some reason but I managed to talk her off of that. Eventually she was done with me and decided to go back to her workstation. I could tell by her name tag her name was Grace. This was an uncomfortable experience and quite confusing as to why it has happened 9/10 I guess. My relative never got me the right packing peanuts but thats ok. I still think about that interaction to this day. read more

I don't remember the last time I've been this mad; and I work at a restaurant. As a graphic design student I'm a frequent visitor to the copy and print center. The Staples I normally go to had printer problems so I thought I'd try the Seal Beach location. I walked up to the copy and print center and the print tech (Kimberly) was on the phone all smiles talking to what sounded like another employee. Right when she got off the phone she seemed peeved and talked to me with such superiority. She made me feel so stupid.. and I barely said hi. When she pulled up the document I wanted to print she's all "All I see are a bunch of numbers." Slaughtering my patients with her unrelenting attitude.. What I really wanted to say was "No shit Sherlock it's a table of contents". Needless to say she couldn't print what I needed (or didn't want to) and I will never go back to that store location. Ever. I went to another staples and they printed what I needed no problem. The La Habra location has the nicest employees and they know what they're doing. read more

Absolutly will not return to give my business to this Staples. An employee named Stacy working in the copy center was the worst excuse of costumer service we have ever experienced. She was completely rude, no manners, unhelpful and, seemed to be very put out and bothered to do her job and assist us with our first time use of their printer service. I do a fair amount of color copying, and I have found Staples has very good printing equipment and good prices for small jobs. I have had copying done by a half dozen Staples locations in north Orange County. The Seal Beach shop is by far the best for customer service and quick turnaround. The print manager, Julio, assisted me today with several issues I was having with the self serve printer, but I have had the same great assistance from others in the center in the past. I ordered business cards online and set for pickup at this location. When I came to pick them up, I noticed that a vast majority of the cards were not aligned properly. I talked to one of the representatives who explained that if texts/images are close to the trim line, they tend to get cut off. He also mentioned that the person who cut the cards didn't cut them properly and that I can reorder them and they'd refund the previous order. I went ahead and did that. I made sure all of the text and images were well inside the trim line and checked the sample several times before placing my order. Went to pick up the second batch and the cutting was still off. The same representative I spoke with the first time mentioned the same thing while another said as long as all your information is on there, that's all that matters. Definitely won't be coming back. I'd rather pay more somewhere else to get it right the first time. read more

My fiance and I walk-in to Staples in Los alamitos yesterday 4/21. We were very worried going in because we thought we would end up spending a long time looking for what we needed. We are 2 weeks from our destination wedding in Ireland and so timing is very critical in maximizing our to-do list. We needed to buy paper for our Mass wedding program and had really no idea of what we wanted. Went to this staples to look for an office chair and successfully found one, but was very dissatisfied with the unprofessionalism demonstrated by an employee named Harrison who at first glance seemed fine other than the colored Nike shoes showing he's not responsible enough to follow a uniform policy. He kept laughing and continued to fiddle around with his radio piece having a separate conversation while trying to help my family and I which added on to the negative impression. Will definitely be requesting a different employee for assistance if I run into this guy again. read more

I always go to this Staples since it's between work and home and have never had a bad experience but today the general manager, Rachel, went above and beyond to make my experience wonderful! I was looking for a specific planner that I felt was impossible to find after going through all of the planners on the floor then Rachel greeted me with a positive and bubbly attitude immediately and asked what I was looking for. I told her and right away she found EXACTLY what I needed which was hidden in the backroom. She continued with her welcoming attitude that brought such a joy to the entire store as we continued to shop. When we were ready to check out, Rachel met us there and rang us up making sure we were able to find everything we were looking for. I would definitely give this Staples location NO star if I could. I was here to buy some office supplies and I was treated very poorly. Customer service was non existence although I see employees just standing there not acknowledging customers as they walk in. I waited patiently for an employee to come and assist me but after 45 minutes of waiting I look over and they were just fooling around, laughing, talking about their personal lives to one another. I didn't say anything and left. I would not recommend this Staples location to any of my associates, family, or friends. read more

Printing center horrible customer service. If you are a printing center wouldn't you think it would be easy to print what you need in a timely fashion? I wanted to print a doc that's in my email and wanted to forward to the store and print. They couldn't do that for me. What they did offer me is a card with an email address. To then email my attachment to, then wait for a code that I have still not received and then give the code to the store to finally print. They gave me no other possible options to print. I guess try don't really care. Off to someone that can print for me. A real printing center. read more

I called to get a quote of 2 colored 8.5x11 and was told two bucks which seemed high, but whatever. They didn't think to tell me their printers were down since the morning until I actually got there. Which might have been useful to know before I drove to the store. On March 20, 2018, I needed to send a fax, and unwisely chose to do so at the Staples store in Seal Beach. The young woman in the copy department was helping another customer when I arrived, but I was next up. Problem was that her present client had an involved order that appeared as if it would take some time. The worker seemed helpful enough to the other customer, but it took a long time for her to acknowledge me. When she did, and I told her I needed to send a fax, she pointed me to the self-service machine. I asked her if she could tell me their fax number so I could jot it down for my records, and she asked why I needed it. I didn't really care, but didn't think she needed my reason. So I just told her I wanted to know in case there were any questions down the road. She then pointed me to a set of business cards, just a few steps from where she was standing, and about 3 times the distance for me to go, and told me I could find the fax number on one of those. Clearly, she was not going to be bothered to take any initiative beyond questioning my motives. She told me that once I finished sending the fax, that I should bring the transmission report back and pay at that time. The fax took a very long time, and she finished with her customer while I was waiting for the transaction to be complete. I then walked back to her counter to pay, and although she had no other customers, she told me to go stand in line at the general checkout. There was only one cashier open, and as luck would have it, the parties in front of me had some issue that required extra time. In the few minutes during which i had to wait, the worker who could easily have helped me busied herself in her area. She looked up to see that I was still standing and waiting, and didn't offer to help me. I thought this was exceedingly lazy, but even if she had some reason to offload me to another person, it was just crappy service. When I reached the person who processed my payment for the fax (over $11 for 8 pages!), I expressed my displeasure. She quite appropriately apologized for her co-worker, and suggested that perhaps there was a pressing matter that prevented her from the 30 seconds or less it would have taken to take my money. I appreciated the tact with which the person who ultimately helped me supported her team member while acknowledging my complaint. In the scheme of life, this is no big deal. But if a business wants to flourish, it might want to hire people who do not intentionally refuse to help customers. I won't go there again. Life is too short to be treated like an imposition. Plus, I have heard that the rates for sending faxes are much better at the UPS Store. read more
