Apparently asking to buy printheads for a computer is not something they know. Or at least to one sales rep. I brought in my old printheads and asked if the store sells these; and ALI said yes. She sold it to me but in my heart l had a sinking feeling the box was way too big for it . So i took it home and realize they were NOT THE SAME THING; same product # but she sold me the cartridges which was NOT WHAT I ASKED for. Now i had to come back to the store and get my refund back. I also happened to recycled the printheads with them on the 1st purchase with ALI. Upon the 2nd trip to return the "cartridges", i asked the man who rung me up to look for my recycled printheads. He said they were gone and not in the bins. Wow. Within the hour that l came back, they threw it back somewhere ? I asked if they can find them but apparently he was too lazy to go look for it. read more

OH MY GOD this place is worse than walking into a gas station bathroom. the stores looks old and the floors are a mess, someone buy them a vacuum PELASE. Forget the poor service at the print center while that needs fixing clean the place first because you leave a horrible 1st impression. THEN work on your printing are, if you're going to charge premium prices, and you do, I expect at least close to premium service. I should have paid 1/3 of what I did because of the service. Yet another employee with an attitude.... I was trying to place my order with one of their reps for a print job. In the middle of my sentence, she cuts me off rudely, says I have to order online. The next day I called to confirm if my order was ready before I go to pick it up. It was 7:30 in the morning. I was under the impression that they open at 7a.m. Before I get a chance to tell her what I'm looking for, (not sure if the rep on the phone was the same chick from the night before), but again, she cuts me off rudely and says well they're not open till 8am, to call back then. You B**ch!!! Ugh!!! rude, rude, rude!!! Why the hell is she answering the phone if they're not open yet? Why am I still giving them a 2 star? This is a review for the print and copy section which includes the shipping service: I just had a horrible experience here. I came in to get something shipped, I had a shipping label that needed to get printed before I could send it out, so I went to the shipping counter and asked if they could print labels. The lady behind the counter, showing no interest in actually helping me, told me I need to print it at the self serve. I think 'ok. I can afford to spend 30c a minute plus prints to print it out.' So I start that whole process, and when it came to the point where I had, I asked the same lady which tray the labels were in. She says I can't print labels there. Wtf? So I attempt to print on regular paper - paper jam and the computer crashes on me then proceeds to charge me $3. I will never ship from Staples as this isn't the first time I've had issues with the print and copy department at this location. They are zero helpful. read more

I'm not a fan of Staples. They are consistently expensive but sometimes are the only place to have a specialty item you need. For example, today I needed a giant sharpie pen. At Walmart they are $3 but were out of stock. Staples online has them for $4.40 each. But, in the store, you have to buy a 2 pack which is $11 with tax. Boo. Hiss. I dont like being forced to buy more than I need and to pay a higher price than their website or another store. But what are you going to do when you need a giant sharpie pen in a hurry?! You're gonna pay $11! Recently I came to their copy center. It was chaos. All copy machines were down! Even when its operational, theres always a problem. I find the staff here constantly changing, not very knowledgeable and not very helpful. Does anyone understand the rewards program? I've had it for more than a decade through my business and have never received any type of reward, coupon or discount?! My daughters birthday is coming up and as any overachieving mom out there knows one MUST out do the mom from the last party attended. So one Friday night the thought popped into my head of having posters along the long walkway that leads to the backyard. I decided on quotes from Disney villains to match the theme. I created my posters using MS word and uploaded them to the Staples website and selected my sizes and paper type. The process was easy. 9 posters came to $62. The site said my posters would be ready by Monday. I received a text on Sunday indicating they were done. Monday comes around and a fire breaks in Azusa. Are we evacuating? are we not? the whole day was a mess so I did not pick up my order until Tuesday. The copy center had 1 lone man working it. He was in charge of copies and UPS shipping. The wait was about 15 minutes. Ridiculous for someone just picking up an order. The posters are beautiful but I do think they need more staff around to assist customers. read more

I shop at Staples often for the place I work, and ordering online is always awesome and easy. January 31, I ordered a printer and decided to do one-hour pick-up. I left after an hour because my confirmation email didn't mention I would receive another when it was ready. Anyway, I get there and I am told they have no idea what I am talking about, that they haven't had a chance to check the computer. Okay, not my problem. The girl also made sure to mention that it's because they are busy and short-staffed. In my experience, you never, ever say this as an excuse even if it is true. You just don't. The only saving grace was the male manager who I could tell just wanted to resolve the issue and get me the printer I had ordered. Walked out happy. Unfortunately, the printer wouldn't quit jamming so I had to return it today. Thought since I picked it up in store it would be easy to return it in store. Without getting into too much detail because this is getting long, i was told many times, "We can't do that." I was actually getting really embarrassed because I felt like a burden and a long line was forming. Again, my only saving grace was the male manager who was willing to go out of his way (which he really didn't have to do) so I wouldn't have to haul the printer back to my office to be picked up there. Oh! He also carried it to my car when I first picked it up. The other employees need to follow his example, including the female manager who needs to brush up on her customer service skills. No smiles and it seemed like I was a HUGE bother to her. She walked away from the issue as soon as she could. read more

I had a business printing account at the Covina location on Arrow Hwy before they closed and moved everything to Glendora. I had cards on order and suddenly the store was gone. The gal that had helped me in Covina had moved to the Glendora store on Gladstone. She shows up at my store with my cards! Super service! That was awhile ago, but I never had written a review so since I just had another good experience I felt the time was right to leave a review. Today it was Kevin. Called in an order, and since my account was moved from another store, I wasn't sure if they would have all the necessary files and images for the printing job. She walked me though the process of having a etsy invitation I had purchased printed in store. From showing me how to email it to staples, a selecting the paper options, sizing possibilities and making the most of the paper. It saved me so many frustrations and some money! Never shopping here, let alone Staples in general. I've give this location multiple chances and they always fail me, especially in the printing department. The quality of the prints usually come out very dark and the employees are very unhelpful. I'm writing this review because I had a very disappointing experience today. I came in to print three pieces of paper on normal printer paper with just plain typed text for a school assignment. I was in a time crunch and Staples was my only option instead of the library. I asked where I could print and they directed me to a computer and I read that each print was around 40 cents a page for black and white. While I was bummed about the price, I was desperate so I used my card and went ahead to printing. Very over priced, I paid $2.50 in total because it also charged around 50 cents every 30 seconds of computer use and it took a while to load my documents. The employee in particular working there was not very helpful, and not very friendly. I waited to get a small amount of papers spiral bounded and she said the wait time to do that was four hours. While I know all this was not her fault, It would've been nice if she was more friendly. My problem and the reason why I'm giving this location a one star is because why do they only have one person working for printing? That's simply ridiculous, stressful on the employees, and also loses my business. I found a UPS location on my way and got my items spiral bounded right when I walked in within at the most five minutes. Never shopping here again. read more

Very disappointed in this location. I have always loved Staples in the past, but definitely don't want to return here. My mother is an elementary school teacher and right now Staples is having a deal for 10 cent paper folders but only for the first 5 folders for regular customers. In the past, the old staples in Covina would always work well with teachers to sell them larger quantities than they would to the average person. Because obviously a teacher has more than just 5 students in her class. This Staples could have profited greatly by selling more folders to my mother because she was planning to buy over 100 folders. But instead she was only allowed to purchase 10 folders. It is sad that this company doesn't want to work with the school community. My mom would have also referred other teachers to this location but now she will tell them to stay away. Not very good business practices. read more

The Staples website is a horror and the customer service at the Glendora store is non-existent. Last week I spent six hours online in their brochure builder designing a brochure. At no time was I instructed to sign into my account. It "saved" all day long. When I was ready to check out, I clicked to purchase and the brochure disappeared. Poof! I cried I was so frustrated. So I call the corporate customer service and the lady (who was very nice) confirmed that, since I didn't sign into my account (which I was never told to do) my work was gone. She gave me a $25 coupon for my frustration. I hung up and tried to sign into my account. But I needed both my rewards account number and coupon number to sign in. I had the coupon number, but not the account number. So, another phone call. Got the account number. Signed into my account but could not access the coupon. Called again. Was told that they will take the coupon off when I go to the store in Glendora to pick up the product. They would charge me to make the order and then re-credit my account. Geesh. Okay. So, I (like a fool who hadn't clued in yet to the depth of their website dysfunction) redesigned my brochure on my own computer and uploaded it and "purchased" it. I didn't get an email confirming the order. Great. I called my local store in Glendora and they said to come in and bring the brochure on a flash drive and they would fix it. So, yesterday I went in with my flash drive. The lady who first helped me said my order didn't go through (surprise). She said to order it again and then she would access the coupon. I did and used the template that has the color bleed to the edge. It looked great. I ordered it. The first lady left for the day so a second woman "helped" me. She said that there was no way to access my coupon unless I had already printed it out and brought it with me (again, no one said I needed to do that) or I could access it on my phone. I said, "Well the other lady could do it. Why can't you?" She said that the other lady didn't know how it really worked. So much for staff training. I couldn't get it on my phone, so she said let's just put the order through and we'll figure it out tomorrow after 7:30 pm. Fine. Today I got a phone call that said the brochures were done early and I could come in. I thought, great. I'll get cards too. Maybe the evil spell has been broken. I designed cards and paid for them and sent in the order. This time I got an email confirmation. All's good. I drive over there (it's a ways from my house) to pick up my brochures. I knew I'd have to come back tomorrow for the cards. The lady (who was the first one from yesterday) hands me a brochure that has white trim all the way around. I set it up to bleed to the edge. I say, "There's a white line around the brochure." She says, "Oh, we don't do bleed to the edge printing here." THEY DON'T DO BLEED TO THE EDGE PRINTING HERE????????? I'm thinking...when I put in my order on your computer and you saw that it was on the bleed-to-the-edge template, you didn't say anything? Your website specifically asks for customers to clarify whether you want a white border or for the print to go to the edge. I was staring at her while questions ran through my head. But then I realized this woman couldn't care less about the service she provided. Discussing this with her was useless. I said, "I'm so done with you guys" and walked out. My search for a color printer concluded at Staples after checking several stores and reviewing Amazon, ebay and printer reviews the conclusion was to purchase the Samsung's color laser printer . Most of the laser printers put out faded prints so Samsung added more wax to the toner to make the prints look glossy. Laser prints tend to get crumpled and a step has been added to offset the heat of the laser so the printed paper does not get crumpled. Taking cost into account CLP 365 costs $169 . So among the new printers its the lowest cost. I ordered this online at staples a few days back and picked it up today which was delivered to a local staples store. My previous Samsung Laser has been working fine for years thanks to God they have both been black and white . Yes this prints both to Mac and windows and came with a USB CABLE and has built in wireless capability. The four toner cartridges cost close to $45 each but luckily you may have to replace them only once in three years. Most people just buy a new printer as it costs less then the four toner cartridges. read more

Manager tried to lie about a sale price and got caught. I went into the Glendora Staples on Monday afternoon (1/13/2014) intending to buy some shipping address labels. I noticed a sign on the shelf stating "Buy 1, Get 1 Free on all Avery 8160, 5160, small pack multipurpose, and ...[other listed] labels". Having dealt with mislabeled price tags before I decided to snap a picture of the sign to avoid running back for a price check. Upon ringing up the purchase the total price came out far higher than the original price, so I instantly knew something was wrong. I politely informed the cashier that the sale price should be "Buy 1, Get 1 Free". She checked and their system was only discounting half off the second item (not the same). So I proceeded to show her the picture on my phone of the sale sign. She seemed to agree so went over to a manager at the center service desk. When she returned he shouted back toward me "that's a rebate". I replied, "okay, I'll need the rebate then" at which point he became flustered. Obviously there was no rebate. He then walked over to the register and said he needed to check the price, and again repeated, "no, these are already half off the second". I showed him the picture of the sign for which he indicated that wasn't a sale in their store. I informed him I had just taken this picture of the sign on the shelf in THIS store. The manager then tried to dissect the language of the sale sign saying it only applied to 5160 small packs for which I had to point out that the comma between the two indicates those are two different items and small packs are a different number. At this point he dropped the package on the counter, walked away and angrily said to the cashier "just give it to him!". At no point did I raise my voice or act in any way to provoke the manager so his behavior was a shock. I turned and looked at the long line that had formed behind me and all of the customers had the same look of disbelief as I did after witnessing how unprofessional this manager had been acting. Some were actually looking right at the manager shaking their heads. I apologized to the man in line behind me for the extended wait to which he validated it was certainly the manager who had created the situation and lengthy wait. I can't fault the cashier, she was very nice and helpful despite her manager's actions to bully customers in what I can only assume is an attempt to improve his store's numbers. Perhaps this is how Staples trains their management staff? If you shop at the Glendora Staples store check your receipt and know what the sale includes. The practice of overcharging is in violation of California B&P Code, 12024.2 a(2) as enforced by Weights and Measures. Knowing your rights is important as a consumer. read more

I just wanted to get high quality printing with no lines that go through it on a 10 by 10. I went to Kinkos and even other Staples. People are sometimes just dumb....not being able to open files and such. Everywhere I went the pictures were not even close to satisfactory. Anyhow....I decided to try one more time. When I came in...the service was immediate and their printers were brand new! Wooo hoo. In fact, the printing was so nice for under $10 that I came back to do several more. Plus...it was fast. I needed an important presentation printed and not only did my headers get cut off on all of my Word documents, the employee was not able to open a PDF file to print a brochure. Came in to get just 15 pages printed up on 28-pound paper right. The lady tells me that she wouldn't be able to get to it until 4 hours. I told her if she just gave me the paper I could do it on the machine myself. She then replied saying that I would have to purchase the paper from the store and then print it up myself. It negates her being there and just helping me get in and out. I would have to pay more taxes on both items now. She said she didn't have time but yet she was joking around with one of the other employees. Mind you I'm all about having fun at work . But don't say you ain't got time when you got time to mingle. Not going to lie, I'm upset I think anybody who gives a bad review is. I got to drive to the other Staples now in order to get this all done. Cheapest ream of plain copy paper with their "new lower price" is a whopping $6.99. Ouch. Office superstore my ass...the only thing super there is how quiet it is. Freaking ghost town. On my way to Walmart across the street to pick up a ream for $3.82. The only thing they have going for them is they do have different type of stock weights and colors, but 99 times out of 100 I just need plain white paper. This review is only for their sign making. I call ahead of time and asked if I can email a file to them and order a 2' x 3' sign from that file. They say yes and give me the email address (staples@printme.com). When I get there, they say they cannot do this and need it on a USB drive. Well, I didn't bring a USB with me so they made me buy one. I bought one and went to use their computers to get it from my email file and save it on the USB just to find out they charge you for internet! I still needed the sign so I sucked it up and did it anyway. When I went to pick it up the next day, there was a little bubble and the edge was already lifting. I was in a hurry and didn't have time for them to fix it, so I took it with me. Within hours, the corner had lifted even more so I had to tape it down. The next day, HALF of the lamination was lifted so I took it back. The only reason I'm giving them two stars instead of one is because of how easy it was to return it. They didn't give me any grief and were very apologetic. Staples is probably a good store for merchandise and they have good customer service, just don't go to them for print jobs. read more
