My wife wanted to get TSA screening. We registered online and my wife got the last time slot on one day. Since there were no other slots for a few days I chose to do the offered "walk in" option. We arrived an hour before her appointment and were told there were no walk ins available. We came back 10 minutes before her scheduled appointment and went right in. There were NO other people getting screened. The sign at the desk stated they weren't doing walk ins. If that was the case, it shouldn't have been offered online. Plus when we went in the hour before and just before there was no one getting screened. If there was a line I would've understood,but the entire store was empty except for the employees. read more

I always buy my ink cartridges, printers, and office supplies at this Staples Treat Blvd store. I bought some new cartridges but had to return two HP ink cartridges. The younger Black reps, Thomas, was helpful and considerate in refunding my unused & unopened ink cartridges. When Thomas couldn't find my ink cartridges, he called for help. Joadean, a female Hispanic lady, came to help and said outlook to the effect that I'm tired of this. Jodean initially helped me find my replacement ink cartridges, but she had a very bad attitude. With a frown look and "don't believe in good customer service," she needs more customer service training. She has no eagerness to help customers. She has a very BAD ATTITUDE and is disrespectful towards customers. Honestly, she needs to be FIRED! It appears she doesn't represent the hood values of STAPLES. Please train or replace her immediately. read more

DO NOT DO TSA PRECHECK HERE. If you schedule an appointment and arrive in time for your appointment you will be placed at the back of the line with all the walk-ins. What's the point of scheduling an appointment if you still have to wait with all the other people that didn't plan ahead. Have visited this location twice in last month and both times had to interrupt some type of discussion in office which is few feet from registers. Why do customers have to search for a checker? Why do customers have to track down clerks in the office? Today there was three people in office with one doing the talking. Not once did he acknowledge that I was standing near register with item in my hand. Seems he was more interested in either having a store meeting and making customers wait or he really doesn't understand customer service. Really wonder what type of training Staples has for its employees. Better yet what type of Mgmnt. Training program do they have for their mgmnt team. I needed coil binding for a music instruction book. Took it to Staples on a Saturday. I thought I gave clear instructions, and it would be simple enough. Line up the pages, punch holes and bind the project. Sadly, holes were misaligned when the pages were punched and bound so the cover along with the first several pages are 1/3 not even attached. The employee was out to lunch (6pm) when I came by to pick it up, and no one else was left in the printing section to explain, so I paid for my project and left. I'm very disappointed in the outcome. All it would have taken was a little more care to do it right. read more

Staff who work the floor need training. They lack customer service, and the can do attitude needed to work the job. I was asked if I needed help by one employee and I told him I needed a price check, and he than replied "he can't help me he was busy" I thought to myself then why ask? I asked a question to another staff member, and her attitude gave me the impression she didn't want to bothered. The only decent staff member I encountered was the man who checked me out he was pleasant, but he pressed me about insurance on an item when I had already said I wasn't interested. read more

Not sure why I waste my time going here to ATTEMPT to have copies or enlarged prints made. Every time I do, they're machines are not working. I'm only referencing to the larger printers behind the counter used by Staples staff, not the self-serve printers. I feel bad for the Staples print and copy center employees that have to deal with printers constantly being broken as I am sure it makes their job that much more difficult. The staff always attempts to do what they can, but whomever is in charge of maintaining the printers to be servicing as they should, needs to find a solution to why their printers rarely work. Not much of a copy and print center if you ask me. I will be taking all my printing needs to the Pleasant Hill location from here on forward as I have yet to face an issue at that location. read more

I live in East Bay, so it was a bit of a trek to go way out to Concord for TSA PreCheck. But it was totally worth it! I made an appointment well in advance, which definitely helped. Nicholas, the sole staff member doing the TSA PreCheck, took me right on time. He was cordial and a consummate professional. He made the whole process easier than signing up for Netflix. The entire appointment couldn't have taken more than a few minutes. read more

So this is the second time I've come here to send a package. I should have learned the first time but thought hey, mistakes happen. This particular time is the worst I've ever had. I dropped off a prepaid package and was given a receipt for drop off, everyday I checked on status and it still said it was not received by the drop off center (Staples).day 5 My buyer is emailing me after and wants to know where his package is, as he should. So I called to speak to somone and they said they'd have to call me back. They never did. Two days later I call as soon as they open and give them my package information. They said, no , not here, ups must have picked it up and not scanned it. I spent hours on the phone with ups and they stated they never received it. I'd had enough at this point, I went down there and asked for a manager and told him since this was the last place my package was left, they they were responsible for it, after he put everything on ups taking it and not scanning it, and putting blame on ups, and how they have not been their in a week, (which I later confirmed to be untrue by actual ups) I just happen to walk over to the actual shipping section and could not freaking believe it. MY PACKAGE was right there! For seven whole day! In plain sight! after they just said they didn't have it and denounced responsibility for it. I almost lost it. Do not, I repeat do not drop your package off here, I also spoke with ups nearby and they said they don't scan packages there, so there will be no shipping info on it until it actually arrives at its destination. Which is lazy on their part because they are not doing their job either. They are supposed to scan every package! Look im super nice usually, one might even describe me as a pushover, but this culture of laziness has gone too far.UPS and staples, It's infested not only these places but every buisness around. I work too, I'm tired too, but for Gods sake, stop Thinking about what lies to tell people or how to push a person off so you don't have to do the simple task of just doing your job. especially The shipping lady Who told told me my package wasn't there so She didn't have to deal with me. I took my iPhone 7plus there to get the screen replaced at 4pm. The manager (I assume) said the kid who is trained on this doesn't get in until 6pm, but it will be done today and he will call me. The kid called me at 7:45pm, said that it can take him up to two hours to do so he wasn't sure if he would finish. I said, you close at 10pm, so you have two hours. He gave me a couple more excuses, OBVIOUSLY not wanting to do it, but my screen was frozen and I needed it fixed. So, 915pm, still no call. I drivedown there at 9:45pm asking where my phone is and the kid is helping other people and said he 'didn't have all the right tools' to fix my phone. I said, where you planning on calling me at all as you close at 10pm and said you would have this done? Fast forward to 10:45pm, he miraculously found the tools and went through two screens and even had me trying to help him fix it. After two broken screens he ended up putting my ORIGINAL screen back on and I walked out at 11:15pm in the same place I started. DON'T TAKE YOUR PHONE THERE TO GET FIXED. Horrible customer service and laziness, not to mention he couldn't even fix the phone as promised. UPDATE: Staples Corporate has reached out to me and apologized, much appreciated and they seem to care about my experience. So positive feedback on that end. read more

This is primarily for Staples online. Decent Pricing especially if on sale. But their chat estimates are ridiculously off. My estimated time was 4 minutes. I waited 32 and was never connected. I understand long waits. If it would have said 30 minutes (or more), I could have decided if I wanted to wait. But don't say 4 minutes and not even connect me after more than 30! read more

My fiancé and I came to Concord Ca this past weekend to attend his 20th year high school reunion, and to have what we thought would be a great weekend full of memories and old friends. While we were attending the reunion on Saturday 6/25, one of our dogs was stolen from our friends backyard. We arrived back to their place around 1am and the panic set in when we couldn't find one of our pups. We stayed up all night looking for him. The next day, Sunday 6/25, midday, 130pm-230pm, we went to this Staples to make lost dog signs, which ultimately was the reason we were able to find our dog Tyson and reunite our family. The employees at this location were so helpful, so kind to us. I was in a panicked state of mind and very very distressed, very sleep deprived. The kindness they showed me, from helping me create the sign, the girl working the print and copy counter who helped me figure out what to say on the flyer, the manager who helped me use the copier machine, and the younger man as well, was undoubtedly THE BEST SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED, EVER!!!! Not just at a Staples store, but the best service I have received anywhere! Their help brought our dog back to us. Please let them know this! We got our dog back and I will never forget the basic human kindness and helpfulness of this Staples. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! If I could give this Staples 100 stars I would!!!!! read more

Staples is doomed! Upshot: If you buy an item (like say, printer ink) from Staples that turns out to be defective, but the 14-day return window has passed, you must take it up with the *manufacturer*. Staples cannot exchange the defective item! This is in stark contrast to its competitiors: Costco and OfficeMax (where exchange of the defective ink cartridge for a functioning one is allowed after the return window) Gory details: I just found out the hard way about Staples' policy regarding defective items under the manufacturer's warranty (when Staples' return window of 14 days has elapsed). I bought HP brand printer ink, which turned out to be defective. I had the digital receipt though, so I thought it would be straight-forward to bring in the ink, with the packaging, and get it replaced. right? sorry, nope-nope-nope... Now, I should mention that I've had the printer for years and changed out the ink many times, so, for the record, I know it's not a user error issue. And, I know the printer isn't busted because when I got ink later, at Costco, it worked fine. The manager, Nadine, was incredulous that I had not realized that the ink I bought was defective within the 14 day Staples return window! = D /// side-bar: It might just be me, but I think it's the case that most people buy ink *before* they actually need it, so it can easily sit on the shelf for a few months before one's ink runs out, and one goes to grab the replacement. Hence, the manufacturer's warranty of roughly 18 months (warranty for ink = expiration date). Only then would one open the package to try the replacement ink and notice that it's defective. Right? \\\ Anyway, in this eventuality you have no option at Staples to do anything (according to Nadine anyway). Nadine said that the Staples point-of-sale system literally would not allow an exchange for a working cartridge no matter how much she wanted to make an exception (I don't know if this is true, but it's what she said). Nadine went on to say that Staples' system treats an exchange of a defective item no different than a return, and that once 14 days have passed, nothing can be done to trade out the defective item via Staples' system. The customer is expected to take the issue up with HP directly to replace defective items (after 14 days). So, I left Staples, never to return. However, I still needed ink (since the one I bought at Staples was defective), and can't wait for whatever process with HP that Staples expects me to follow. So, I checked Costco and OfficeMax -- of course asking about their policy should a similar issue occur... Both will take defective ink cartridges back, and exchange for one that works without issue. The return window is not applicable in this case (for defective items) -- though worth mentioning that Costco's return policy is 1 year anyway -- compare that to 14 days! Conclusion: Staples is doomed to fail because its competitors are better... by a country mile. read more

Got a print job done here the other day but when I got home unfortunately I noticed it was done all wrong. Thankfully when I took it back in the next day Roman helped me this time. He was apologetic and fast to fix the order. Not only did I get it quickly it was done better than my original expectations. I'm only having Roman do my prints from now on, he deserves 5 stars. Do not use Groupons here. Bought some vouchers from Groupon for shredding services. Voucher was $10 for up to 20 pounds of shredding. Several staff said "We don't take third party coupons" or "This is a coupon for $10 off". After arguing and going through numerous people who kept wanting to charge me, the person said "Ok, I'll do it but I shouldn't." The other employee said, "Yeah, you shouldn't". Went in for something else a few weeks earlier, nothing I was looking for was in stock. The person at the counter was nice but said, we don't have anything in the back, but you can order it from the kiosk. I needed it then. Found it at a different company's store down the street. I really like this location. I've always come here for my office supplies and they have what I need. Everyone is very helpful and are willing to above and beyond. Today I am participating in Relay for Life and needed a poster mounted and laminated for a last minute raffle prize we received. I called the store and spoke with Tamara. I explained how I was having difficulty using the online system and what I needed. I was able to order my poster online and she confirmed it was received. She said she would have my poster ready by opening and she delivered! Will definitely use their print services again: value and customer service can't be beat! read more

I have been using Staples on Treat Blvd. in Concord for years the last few months it has not been good needed some 24x36 prints about month ago there printer was down went in 3 days durng week still down so drove to pleasant hill theirs was down also got them printed on 5th try. Went to concord yesterday to get some 18x24 printed got home and realized they didnt give me back my thumb drive partly my fault. Went today at 7:45 pm they close at 9 to have 1 document 18x24 scanned to thumb drive told me tomarrow they didnt have time. So I drove to Pleasant Hill they are open till 9 but copy center closes at 8 does not tell you that on website. Getting hard to do bussiness with them looks like Kinkos might work better. read more

My go to place for printing. Everyone there is very professional and friendly. I foolishly left my iPad by the copy machine one day and didn't notice until 20 minutes after I left. I called Staples, a very nice gentleman answered his name was CHRIS. He put me on hold and rushed over to the copy machine and THANK GOODNESS IT WAS STILL THERE he made sure to put it in a safe place until I was able to go pick it up, a couple of hours later. I received great customer service on three separate occasions from two different managers and an associate. A manager named Adam assisted me with purchasing the correct ink cartridges and recycling my used ink cartridges so that my Staples Rewards lined up correctly. When I had issues with my rewards, a manger named Alison assisted me with a pleasant and helpful attitude to resolve my issue. I also found out that they are a UPS drop off, something that I had not previously known. I also received good assistance by a sales associate when I came in a third time to purchase ballpoint pens. Not only did he lead me to the pen aisle, but he showed me exactly where the pens were located on the shelf. Not only did they have the pens in stock, but they also price matched to OfficeMax! If there continue to be such helpful managers and employees at this Staples retail location, then I will continue to come back. read more

Customer service is HORRIBLE! i picked up my items. Stood in the long line. I get to the register which prepares to scan my packaging tape, only to realize there isn't a code to scan. She needs to code. It's the last item on the shelf. I acknowledged that. She goes back and proceeds to get the original shelf identifier. While she's doing that I went to go look for something else. return to the register, another employee is ringing a new customer up on the same register. Okay fine... Well the employee - ahem, assistant manager, proceeds to go SLOW. If you can't multitask, i.e. talk non-sense with a customer and process whatever it is that you need to do on the computer than any high school graduate/ged can do, you don't deserve to be assistant manager. He clearly sees me standing there, waiting for him to finish with a customer. However he continues to talk non-sense with a customer, something about his last name. Something about his father being in prison. REALLY! As I'm standing here staring at you. You can't seem to push the buttons in front of you and move your mouth and make noise at the same time. If you can't do that, please just stop talking and process the customer. There's a whole line forming back there. read more

There were 3 employees sitting there with no customers in the store. The associate said she "could" do it, but they were really too busy and could I pick up the job tomorrow. I needed a last minute poster created for my daughters art final and when I walked in at approximately 4:00pm, poor Roman was swamped!!! Between 5 other customers, a ringing telephone and the UPS guy, Roman politely and efficiently worked his way thru all of us, helping each of us (some of us being really needy) until all of our projects were completed. I live nearby, so the location is great. But I'd rather drive the extra 15 minutes to Office Depot in Pleasant Hill, just for the better customer service! The last time I came here, I came to pick up a few documents that needed to be printed up. The line was short, but it did take me about 25 minutes to get out of there. By the time I got to the front of the line, I was completely ignored for another customer who was in back of me. And when it finally was my turn to get my documents, the employee wasn't very friendly, and no apology or explanation as to why I had to wait longer! read more

Chris Hardy is a great manager, I had a problem with thier online team, which they have no clue how to run a business, they dont respond, they dont cooperate, they dont do anything, and Chris had no say in that, but he found a way to help me out. Standard Staples--just had a computer I ordered sent there for a store pick-up. They had it really in less than their estimated two hour window. I saw they had an in-store coupon that I wanted to apply, so I had the GM cancel my online order and re-buy it in the store. She even made a call to confirm the in-store coupon could be applied, and I only had to wait about 5 minutes or so. Great customer service. It's really close to my work, so I'd be back if I had any electronics purchases in the future. read more

I came to this staples bc it was on my way home from work...I wanted to have some labels and my invitations printed for my baby shower. I got here at 615 and there was no one ahead of me. It is now 7 pm and the lady has successfully helped other people and I'm only getting my first page of labels right now! Granted this lady is working by herself but come on. I submitted a print order online to be picked up in the evening. I arrived about 15 minutes after the time on the order and it wasn't ready. They told me that they probably couldn't complete it that day. Since the next day wasn't going to work, I went to Kinkos and they did it while I waited. Later that night I got a call from Staples who said it was complete. I did go and pick it up, but at that point I didn't need it, but I had already paid for it. Today I placed another order online, but this time I figured that I would call right after the order was placed to be proactive. I waited on the phone for 47 minutes for someone to get on the phone and say the print shop is too backed up to take a call. I asked if they could check on the order. They asked when it was supposed to be picked up and I said today. She said, I can tell you right now that's not happening. I run a business and I can't deal with poor customer service. I will not be returning to Staples for anything. read more
