Great breakfast food. Great pancakes! Walked in around 11am on Saturday morning and there was a short wait for seating inside, so we ended up at the counter. The waitress and staff were all very friendly. My boyfriend and I split the Hot Links Omelette (side of fruit) and Wheat Germ Pancakes. The omelette was good, but it didn't look like the pictures on Yelp that we had seen before. I liked the omelette, but not my favorite one that I've had there before. The side options are bagel, toast or fruit. I got the fruit cup, but I wish I hadn't because it wasn't great. I've had the bagel before and it's really tasty, so I would recommend that over the fruit cup. When you get the hash browns, I would recommend asking for them well done or crispy because they weren't crispy enough for me this morning (well seasoned though!). We also split the Wheat Germ pancakes which are some of my favorite pancakes around. They're a bit nutty and have that delicious wheat-y flavor. Yum! I cannot believe that I have not written a review of this restaurant. We have been eating at this restaurant for years and have had, maybe, two meals that were less than very good. My favorite is Lumberjack Pancakes. I order only one or a short stack because they are large and filling. The pancakes are so good that you can almost eat them dry; however, they are served with what I think is a blueberry compote that I like to spread on the pancakes. I also like their Breakfast Sandwich, Corned Beef Hash, and South Of The Border menu items. My wife's favorites are Bacon Waffle and Mexican Frittata. Stacks hits the nail on the head when it comes to gluten-free options (especially for kids) and providing lots of other options for others who aren't gluten sensitive. Our family stopped in on a Friday morning expecting a wait but thankfully we didn't have to wait and our server greeted us with seconds of being sat. Awesome service, awesome staff and awesome food. I feel like the positive reviews on here are either people with no idea what "good" food is supposed to taste like or they're paid reviewers because the food here is absolutely disgusting. We had the California Benedict: bunch of greasy stir fried veggies on a stale English muffin topped by what was supposed to be an egg over easy but turned out to be just an egg white which was topped with the worst tasting hollandaise sauce I've ever tasted and I've had Denny's benedicts. My son had the Lumberjack pancakes: They use wheat germ for some reason which made the pancakes taste semi sour. He said he wished we had just gone to Denny's. Hes a teenage boy who will eat just about anything and he couldn't even eat half of one because he said it gross. Wife had Steak and Eggs with sweet potato fries: Steak was overcooked, greasy and tasteless. She said the eggs were ok but in this dish it's the steak thats supposed to shine not the eggs. They placed the greasy steak on top of the fries which ruined the fries because they were now soaked in grease. To top it off they were undercooked. Thats 3 for 3 bad meals and the place was not even busy. The wife said she would have rather we rolled the dice with the ecoli laced food at McDonald's than eat here. The service is so incredibly slow, took them 20 min to take our order, drinks arrived in 15, and the food showed up in a total of 40 min. The fun part was only my partner's food arrived, so I had to watch him eat while my stomach was growling. With all that wait, food came lukewarm (the traditional breakfast sandwich) and cold (the blueberry pancakes). It is best to hang out near during your wait time, otherwise your name might be missed after the hostesses calls. We got seated on time. Hash browns were ok. It would have been better with potatoes wedges or something. My husband got their Skillet with hash brown and onions and side of bagel. It was pretty small portion for him but it was ok and he didn't particularly like the hash browns. Even the bagel was kinda hard. He didn't even eat it. I did like the hazelnut latte and coffee. The disappointment was in the banana macadamia nut pancakes! It was pretty expensive for three large pancakes that was kinda dry and looked burnt. It had enough macadamia nuts and bananas but not enough flavor. I had to put a lot of maple sauce to drench it. This upsets me. The pancakes have to taste good without the syrup for me to know it's really good! It was just missing something or sauce over it?! Everything was ok but I would only rate this place as 2.5 stars. I've never been a huge fan of Stacks, food is good but not anything special, very average. I recently got the triple berry belgian waffle here for the first time and it was the best thing I have gotten here so far! It is very traditional breakfast food, good portions. It is fairly pricey for the quality of the food, I would rather spend that much and get something a little more unique. My mom loves the pancakes here so I do come every once in a while, but would not pick this as a top choice to get breakfast. Staff is always nice and service is quick.
