I stopped by St. Paul Bagelry mid-morning on a Saturday after hearing so many good things, but unfortunately, my experience wasn't great. It wasn't super busy just two people ahead of me and I decided to try the MacGyver sandwich based on the guys in front of me suggestions. I mentioned to the person at the register that it was my first time there, but she didn't seem welcoming or interested, which was disappointing. I ordered two MacGyver sandwiches and two coffees. After waiting over 30 minutes with no update, I finally asked about my order but got no real response. When the food was eventually ready, the coffees had been forgotten entirely. The sandwiches themselves were okay... not bad, just not particularly memorable. The space is clean and has a good menu, so I can see the potential, but this visit just wasn't a great first impression. Would I return? Maybe, if someone I was with really wanted to go. But honestly, I can think of other spots I'd try first.

Breakfast Bagel: Sausage, Egg, Meat & Cheese

For being the twin cities, we don't have much for specialty bagel shops...so it's nice to live close to one! I've had great lattes from here and I've had OK lattes...so there's some inconsistency there. I've always had great bagels though! Service is nothing special...and neither is the vibe inside so it's really more of a very normal non-aesthetic bagel shop that has good bagels! A friend tried to order me a gift card online and it never came so it was a pain to track down with the owner...so I'd stay away from their online ordering system.

This definitely surprised us! The bagels were soft and toasted. The spread was so good. The service was quick. It was a bit busy inside, but that's a good thing to see. The restaurant had a good amount of seating for how crowded it was. We enjoyed our bagels and we will be back!

Great Bagel sandwiches and a variety of choices of bagels to complement your taste. They have soups, homemade cream cheese choices for bagels. Vinyls music. Nice clean ambiance

I went to visit Saint Paul Bagelry and was pretty happy with the results. I bought a hot sandwich, a bunch of different flavored bagels, and two tubs of cream cheese. The one issue I have with this place is how expensive everything is. My total was about 45 dollars, which felt a bit steep. The sandwich alone was around 12 or 13 dollars, and the rest of the cost came from the eight bagel and two tub deal. The roast beef sandwich I had was tasty and had pickled onions and a few other toppings, but it did feel a little small for the price. The bagels I picked up included cranberry, pumpernickel, blueberry, plain, everything, garlic and herb, and a few more for my family. People enjoyed them, but I am not completely sure the quality justifies how much they charge. The cream cheese, though, was excellent. I really loved the garlic and herb cream cheese, and the strawberry flavor was my favorite. I would still recommend checking this place out, but maybe start by buying one or two bagels and a small amount of cream cheese to see if it is worth committing to the bigger package deal.

Haha! My original review only had a 3 pics attached. Now, with all the checkins, oh so many more!!! So they've remodeled. Still pretty much the same set up but they gave themselves some more room to work in the back. The line-up on a Saturday Sunday morning is still real. Not sure what you can do about that but order online? Go earlier? Later? No real answer. I'm about the breakfast bagel, usually the turkey sausage, egg, cheddar, spinach (if I'm lucky) and spicy sauce. Bagel of choice? I switch it up. Sometimes salt, or Asiago, dark wheat is kinda fun, pineapple was interesting. Their breakfast sandwiches they've got on the menu/board are also really good. The only thing is if you time it wrong and the place is crowded. It's kinda like the Sea Salt of bagel shops. You just deal and in the end, you have a tasty breakfast bagel if that's your thing....or if you're from L.A., you don't.

Love a good bagel shop! We got there shortly before close and there were still plenty of bagel options to choose from. We got the breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese and sausage, it was very good and the bagels were extra soft. I was a little surprised when my total came to $17 for the two sandwiches but it won't stop me from coming back to try one of the lunch sandwiches. There was a small line in front of us but the service was fast and convenient. Plenty of seating including some bar stools by the window which we enjoyed sitting at.

Lox bagel and a chai

Had a day running errands and stopped by for a late breakfast and went with a lox bagel on an everything bagel and an iced small chai tea latte. Service was very fast and the bagel was delicious as well as my chai. It was a very convenient stop and always great quality on bagels and cream cheese spreads. There is plenty of seating on the inside as well as outside seating if you want to have fresh air. I will say it depends on the time and day you come because sometimes the line can be so very long but so worth it!

sausage egg and cheese on asiago. wouldn't order asiago again tbh.

music waaaaay too loud in there. classic bagel place that's pretty mid. wasn't bad wasn't that good either. coffee was also mid.

Doesn't look like a lot from the outside of this dated strip mall spot in St. Paul. But come inside and pure bagel magic. It only took a minute for me to realize just how treasured this gem is, as a line formed out the door for the Saturday morning bagel rush. They have 12 cream cheese flavors in house plus different bonus flavours seasonally. You can build your own bagel sandwich hot or cold for lunch or breakfast and there are so many options. You can also grab a bunch to go. Feels like a delicious and affordable way to cater in breakfast for a group. Prices are great! Which is hard to say these days. Just an overall great deal and so so delicious. Bagels and cream cheese are made in house too. They serve dogwood coffee and it's killer. Plus, the bonus of old strip malls- endless free parkin

MacGyver with onion
Andrea K.

Feels like a hometown kind of restaurant. We went on a Sunday and I don't think there was anyone over 21 working there, but they knew what they were doing. Even with a long line, we got out in a relatively short amount of time. Unfortunately, they were out of asiago bagels, but the onion bagel with the MacGyver sandwich was still pretty good. These bagels are the kind of gluten that will wreck your stomach but in a good way. They have a couple outdoor spots and booths inside.

Lots of families from the surrounding residential neighborhood, which is right on the Northern edge of St Paul, as well as people on their own making progress with their laptop activities. They have a lot of ourdoor seating, including a fenced in area which I assume is meant for dogs. Everything was delicious, and the vibes are immaculate! I'm already excited to go back on a sunny day to sit at the picnic tables or head into the quieter annex type rooms to get some work done. Such an interesting coffee shop--I can't wait to tell more people about it!
