I came back the next day and got a banh mi that was HUGE and delicious. The "House" is about ten bucks and that is a great deal for such a large, stuffed sandwich. They cut it in half and you can absolutely consider splitting it with someone or making two meals of it. Tons of Asian flavors on fresh-baked baguette bread. Absolutely outstanding. There are also Banh mis and Vietnamese coffee. I liked the almond croissant and the salted caramel Vietnamese coffee. They had great flavor and tasted fresh. The cream puff was decent and not too heavy, and the strawberry croissant was too sweet and heavy for me. The pandan dessert had really good pandan flavor, but the inside was a little too sweet and rich for me. I split it up into a few dessert meals. They've expanded so much in their products since I've last stopped in. Easy parking, they have a drive thru so you can grab your goodies without taking the kids out of the car, and a wide variety of baked goods to try. Service was steady, a little slower than expected but they do a good job packaging the items so they don't end up squished. We had banh mi sandwiches. The bread was, as the name promised, absolutely delicious. Just as you would want a baguette to be, soft and chewy on the inside with a perfect crust on the outside. The fillings were great too. We also ordered some pastries to take with us but ended up eating one because we could not resist. I had the Black Forest mocha which was sweet and a nice complement to the savory and spicy banh mi. They expanded to have more seating since the last time I was here a couple years ago and have plenty of tables. The person taking our order was friendly and helpful. Here's the thing: there's a lot to caveat with my review. We didn't try the pastries, and those looked great and a lot of reviews here suggest as much. Service was good for takeout. The space is really nice and honestly feels underused. Why 3 stars is the banh mi. We got the banh mi thinking it'd hold up to expectations. Unfortunately, it just didn't quite - and this is where I want another caveat that La Delicious' nearest competitor for pastries and banh mi does such a good job that it might have skewed expectations. Taken on their own terms, nothing I'll list below is "unusual" - it just, isn't as good by comparison. La Delicious doesn't bill itself as a banh mi place though so, take this critique with a grain of salt. 1) the bread was cold and tough. 2) veggie ingredients were fine, a good mix really - but cold. 3) meats were all cold cuts and a little slimy - maybe due to all the mayonnaise or the like, maybe not. The critique then isn't that these sammiches are inherently bad. It's that the making of these sammiches seemed to be a bit more like pulling out chilled ingredients and not-fresh bread and putting them together with a slathering of condiment to make the whole thing taste slimy. And that's just not the experience you get from, say, the nearby competitor. I'm also not a fan of cold cut banh mi, but many people are so that's not part of my critique here. It is though why I ordered the banh mi that I did, hoping it wasn't cold cut - and was disappointed. But, I could have asked in fairness. If we were to try them again, it'd be for the pastries. read more

I treated myself to a chocolate croissant (which I ate the next day and it was still perfectly delicious) and a small/demi baguette which was crisp and wonderful. The store has plenty of seating and would be a great place to meet up for a "Coffee talk" with friends. Service was a little slow (Saturday). They were putting together the orders in order so I had to wait for coffees and boba teas and sandwiches to be made before they bagged my grab 'n go items. A croissant banh mi is my favorite way to eat this Vietnamese sandwich and La Delicious Bread delivers a tasty one. The croissant was huge, the ingredients were fresh, and the pate was super yum. I'm a sucker for pate, just writing about it is making me want to go get this sandwich. I also grabbed a couple desserts, a big ole fruit macaron and chocolate mousse cake. Finding our way into the sparsely decorated dining area we were anxious to take the first bite. Our search for the perfect almond croissant has taken us to many French bakeries all across the Minneapolis/St. Paul region. The crunchiness of the almond croissants at La Delicious Bread was perfect along with just the right amount of sweetness. As I took a sip of my hot coffee I had a terrific insight. Croissants are like people; everyone is different in their own special way. Our search has taught me to be mindful and to thoroughly enjoy the experience no matter where we go. We had arrived late morning, having driven from the western burbs to this spot, so when we arrived the dining room was almost empty. Being a part time people watcher I was disappointed in not seeing more people, but then we could have a conversation quite easily. Beautifully painted murals in the shop as well as seating area, I was incredibly impressed! The seating area is cozy and adorably decorated but due to its high ceilings, echos a bit. I came in for lunch and ordered a butter croissant and house banh mi (think cold cut). I was super surprised when I bit into my sandwich when the traditional crunch was not there! The baguette here is much more bready and chewy - I was taken back cause I was anticipating a crisp crunch, the kind of baguette that crumbles and inevitably gets all over my lap. The chewiness of the banh mi made my jaw super sour and I couldn't eat more than half of the sandwich unfortunately. I originally saw this place on tiktok and decided to give it a try! Unfortunately I was disappointed with my experience... This is located by the cub foods on the corner and has a decent amount of parking. When I walked in I noticed lots of posters and art work to the point where I think it made it feel "cheap." The name and outside made it feel like it was going to have more of an upscale vibe and I didn't feel that at all. The service was also lacking. I felt rushed and felt like the staff was annoyed that I didn't immediately know what I wanted even though there was no line. Service didn't feel friendly or welcoming. Very disappointing. The food: I tried a bunch of different items and was left scratching my head as to why people are flocking here. The creme brûlée did not have a hard top and was lacking in flavor. The tiramisu had a strange after flavor but the texture was good. The Paris Brest was not good. No one in my family could finish that. The chocolate croissant tasted good but had chocolate sticks in the middle which was weird for texture. The fruit macaroon was very tasty but not enough to have me come back. Overall I would not recommend this place. Based on the different items I tried, I have been to far better bakeries that have better items and better service. read more

Excellent! I was seeking out Vietnamese coffee early this morning and La Delicious Bread is one of the only shops that opens at 7 am while others similar in style don't open until 10. With a Paris theme from the pictures on the wall to the baking style, one of the more unique items were the exotic croissants made with flavors like such as taro, matcha, coconut, mango, or chocolate. The taro one was extremely good but a little too sweet and large for my portion as I ate about half. It's a great option to share and the color pop is fun! The chocolate almond croissant was very good as well (although do like mine a little softer). The interior space is very clean, there are plenty of tables to dine in and I can't wait to try the famous Banh Mi sandwich made on homemade break for my next visit. The pastry cases are too perfect to want to pick something from but that is why so many visit. Bakery looks like an average croissant shop but in my option it's not flaky and soft enough. The waffle croissant was dry and on the harder side and the butter croissant was dry as well and not flaky enough. I was very excited when they opened and hoping I'll be able to go there for some good croissants instead of having to drive all the way to uptown Minneapolis but I will be continuing my drive there to get food croissants. The layout of the shop is on the smaller side. There are a few tables around for customers to sit down but the cashier area is really tight. You'll have to wait for the person in front of you to leave the area until you can go in there to pay. Service was average, nice and friendly. First time here. I ordered smoked turkey Bahn mi. This is huge at least 12" long. The sandwich will last you 2 meals. 4/5 as the bread is hard! Kinda chewy but, you could lose a tooth or crown biting into it. Be aware. The mayo tasted like a romulade mayo, ok. 4/5 the chocolate hazelnut merange was too sweet. The almond croissant was really good. The strawberry napoleon OMG super yummy. The staff person assisting was super friendly. Cash is preferred, fees to use a card. Delicious indeed! You can probably read other reviews for info on how things tasted so I'll focus on something else. Here are some tips following my first visit: 1) on the display counter are laminated sheets and dry erase markers. Use them to indicate what you want (along with quantity) and then head to the register. 2) double check your order before leaving. Thankfully, I did because it turned out an item was missing, which I told them. 3) despite getting there at 7:30am on a Sunday, it was packed. I probably waited 15mins for my order. Granted, it was Mother's Day, so perhaps that was a factor. Nonetheless, allot extra time if going during peak times and be patient. 4) they didn't have small containers for single items (at least not on this day). As a result, the single items I had (to gift others) ended up shifting and one even falling apart during the drive. That said, if you're driving with someone, have them hold the boxes. If you're not, think creatively. 5) seating is limited and with the number of people waiting, it was hard to find anything available. Perhaps it's better during non-peak, or perhaps not ?! I went there over the weekend. Tik Tok told me to go and I am not at all disapointed with the expirience. There was a line to the door but it move pretty fast. My kid's brain almost exploded with the amount of options. We tried aeclair, the strawberry crossaint, lemon tart, black forest cake, fruit tart. I only ate two of those thing but they were so good I have been thinking about it much of the day since then. I want to try the opera cake, and bubble teas. Little did we know we had a place that sold an assortment of goodies close by. I had the kids each pick a dessert and I went savor ugh the spinach and feta croissant as it was so good ! WOW. I mean, WOW. Walk in, and the smells of fresh pastries, pastry cream and oven baked breads hit the senses in the most pleasant of ways. I have come here twice for Banh mi and also gotten some of the desserts to bring for family gatherings. The Banh Mi is second to iPho Saigon's on University Ave in St. Paul, which I rank as the best banh mi I have tried in the COUNTRY. The portion is GINORMOUS. And they do not skimp on the meats! Pate is sooo creamy and delicious with the perfect amount to add that funk and creaminess to the sandwich with umami fresh cut meats. For the banh mi, I usually get at least 2 meals out of it, if not more! The place is tiny with a quaint ambiance and very knowledgable staff providing helpful service. Order for eating in and sit at a table next to full length windows or take to go are both viable options. My ONE gripe is that they close at 5pm and are not open on Mondays so when I have a craving for banh mi or superb parissian pastries to satisfy my sweet tooth outside of these opening hours, I have to wait- but that just makes the food taste all the more better! :D Off street parking lot and easy access off of Rice street near the intersection with Hwy 36. I finally had a chance to visit this place after hearing some mixed reviews. This is a French/Asian bakery that sells banh mi, boba and baked goods. We arrived on a Saturday morning with no line, we ordered the taro 'exotic' croissant (which is very similar to a cronut), flan dessert and almond croissant. The service was not great, at the time of ordering, they didn't tell us that the taro croissant was out and they had to make more, so we waited about 15-20 mins without knowing and everyone else after us was getting their orders. I think it's a simple courtesy to let customers know if they have to wait longer, especially when we are in a rush to be somewhere else. The almond croissant was the worst of the 3 we ordered, it was super hard and too sweet for my liking, it had too much powdered sugar. The flan dessert was okay, pretty forgettable and the taro croissant was the best however, not as flaky as I would have thought and too much filling. The bakery itself is pretty small, not many tables for large groups to sit and eat at, more of a grab and go bakery. Also, they charge a 3.95% fee if you use credit card, bring cash if you can! The name of the establishment is not original but don't let that fool you. If you are looking for delicious, affordable Asian / French pastry then this is the spot! Considering that this is a HMong establishment and I am HMong, this review is not bias whatsoever. If anything, I am more harsh. That said, this is one of my favorite bakeries in the Twin Cities. What made me drop by was the exotic croissants. I've seen these in NYC and Chicago for about $10+ a pop. These are $6 a piece and worth it. Not only for your 'Gram but also for your stomach. I love that most Asian bakeries are not overly sweeten. The flavors were subtle here. After a 3-hour drive home with these secured in the backseat, the filling still oozed so effortlessly. Every bite was buttery, crispy, and light. The tart had a buttery bottom and held the filling very well. I could taste each blueberry. The banh-mi was huge. I split it with my husband. I had to flatten it a bit to have it fit in my mouth. The baguette has a hard top and a semi-soft inside. It held the juice of the pickled daikon/carrot very well. The cilantro, jalapeño, and sliced cucumber were all fresh. You could hear all the crunch. They had a bit of mayo and their own pate (yay) with a lot of meat. The flavors all tied together very well. I can say this is the best HMong made banh-mi sandwich I've had. The only con was that the bread used was too hard for me. Husband and I went on a Saturday morning and the line was out the door! The seating area is limited. A few customers ate inside and a few stood around waiting for their order. The service was quick. With the amount of people packed inside, orders were constantly being called. The employees wore masks and gloves. 2-thumbs up! The establish was clean and parking is plenty but can fill fast. La Delicious Bread has been a recent discovery for my family! Everything always tastes so fresh and even the simpler items feel like a treat to eat. Their prices are very fair! My dad has been obsessed with their baguettes and mini baguettes. (He says their bread doesn't feel as heavy or make his stomach hurt like other places. I think they import French flour?).
