I reviewed the recommendations and decided to order a baguette, an apricot croissant and a leek croissant. The baguette was mishaped, the crimp was less than acceptable and the crust was mushy, and hardened by the end of the day. Both croissants were mediocre in taste and texture and the leek croissants was only in name. There are several outstanding French bakeries in my neighborhood. Mar Hue being one them. I am happy to pay but I expect to be whoaed. This was not "whoa" moment. But $16.50 including a surchage for using a credit card for less than mediocre products is outlandish. Everything I've had from the strawberry croissant (topped with fresh strawberries!!!) to the bacon croissant to the apple turnover to the cherry danish has rocked my world. Great little bakery with an abundance of sweet pastries, breads, Bahn-mi sandwiches, croissants, and bubble teas are just some of the items this bakery has. There is plenty of parking but plan on getting your treats to go as there is only seating for 10 people at best. Me and some friends took our treats to a coffee shop and ate them while drinking the other establishment's wonderful beverages. The pastries at this bakery were so good and the service was fast. I'm disappointed of how the the banh mi and pastries turned out. Although the banh mi looked appealing and tasty it was the exact opposite. The bread was hard like a hockey puck, I'm not sure if that was "fresh bread" because it definitely was not. It was more like a day old bread. The sandwich was soggy from the daikon & carrot not drained properly and there was WAY too much mayonnaise 1/5. Their exotic pastries were not bad but really lackluster. My partner got the exotic matcha but lacked the matcha part of it 1/5. I got the exotic coconut but did not taste like coconut but more like a custard exotic croissant 1/5. The Bahn mi sandwich. The bread was extremely difficult to bite into and chew. Unfortunately, the pork must've been old. I had a little bit of mostly the inside of one side and ended up with diarrhea. The pork did have both a dark and a slightly lighter gray color to it and actually smelt bad after I got it. I thought someone passed gas in the store. It was my sandwich.. the strawberry with the coating around the outside of it tasted rancid I put that out for the animals as well as the sandwich. The house banh mi was good but lacked some flavor it needed more spicy mayo or something. The lamb is spicy and is lamb sausage. The menu does not say that. As someone who doesn't eat sausage this was hard to get myself to forget while eating, I wish it was stated somewhere. That being said I like the lamb one more because it had more flavor. I actually had to take the jalapeños off the sandwiches because they were too overpowering. Normally on a banh mi they are little circle piece. That was not the case here. They are cut in large strips seeds and all. I love jalapeño too but it was too much. This newer spot is in the old Tim Hortons building. It shares the building with Jets Pizza. It is cleverly painted/decorated as a French patisserie/boulangerie/viennoiserie. Freshly baked breads, pastries, cakes, sandwiches, crepes (crepes are served after 9am). Need something to drink? I had the latte (a steal at $3.80) and my friend had the mango smoothie ($5.49) that she loved! The hardest thing was deciding what I was going to have for my LDB breakfast. My smart friend chose the Spinach Croissant ($5.99) which was flaky and deliciously flavored. I had the Strawberry Napoleon (yes-I can't pass up a Napoleon). All croissant are excellent. Most French pastry are delicious. I grew up in a French speaking countries with French pastry so I know what I'm talking about. Parking is actively easy and this place gets very busy on Saturday morning all day you can see cars in and out and there's always a line of one or two persons in front of us because people know this is the place to be to eat French pastry. It's not cheap but most items are worth the money. It's close to A cub food store as well as two Highway 36. I'd go there every weekend if it was closer to me. I never tried their Banh Mì. After many many trips to the Twin Cities, I can't believe my friends have never taken me to this spot! Down in Kansas City, there are not too many (if any at all) unique pastry shops like this one here. I envy at the fact that anyone living close by can just run up and grab a Crème Brûlée at any time. Located in a Cubs supermarket parking lot, it's very easy to miss so keep your eyes peeled! Coming into the shop, I had high hopes because my friends had been "hyping" this place up to me for the last couple of months since my last visit. Let me just say, it definitely lived up to the hype! The two items I had ordered (Crème Brûlée & Chocolate Mousse Cake) were delicious! However, going with a large party, I got to sample a TON of other pastries and treats as well and EVERYTHING was fantastic. The pastries were fluffy, the cakes were rich and the creams were creamy! Not to mention, the owner and rest of the staff greeted us with a warm welcome and a thankful goodbye! If you're ever in the Twin Cities, especially on the Saint Paul side, I'd definitely recommend this place as it will NOT be my last visit here! Next time, I'm ordering down the menu! The service was good and quick, ambiance was really friendly but it was packed as the waiting/order area is also the cafe area so it was a bit small and limited seating. The Thai coffee was strong and had a good flavor one of my favorites, but unfortunately the matcha drink was straight up milk and too sugary for my liking there was nothing matcha about it but it was probably more of a boba drink not a regular matcha drink, wouldn't get that again. The pastry was amazing my husband got the double chocolate and banana chocolate which was really good personally I'm not a huge chocolate fan but he absolutely loved it , the banana one was great as well the outside was crispy and the inside was soft and had banana filling inside. They called this little croissant matcha an exotic pastry , I loved the creamy matcha inside it was perfect and had enough filling. Wow!~What a find. We were passing through Maplewood and happened upon this place. Not the most inventive name, but the food and pastries are superb! I had a bahn mi sandwich that was perfectly prepared and yes, delicious. My wife just had a baguette (huge). But we couldn't leave without trying the pastries (three in total) and all were spectacular. My only wish is that we lived closer--or perhaps they will open additional locations (South Metro, please!). It just opened and had been packed with people since the grand opening. My husband went on a Tuesday around 11:30am and he said there was no one there, so the hype must've died down a bit or he went before/after the rush. We got "The House" sandwich. I went here during lunch hour and saw that the drive-thru and physical line outside their door was pretty long but decided to wait anyway to support a new business. The wait was definitely worth it as I was greeted with very kind employees with great customer service. The owner even handed out free bread for the folx who've been waiting. I got the house special banh mi which was pretty good. For my fellow Vietnamese, if you're expecting a classic banh mi, know that this is technically fusion food as it's made with a french baguette instead of Vietnamese-style baguette and instead of butter, they use a spicy mayo. But these differences didn't take away from what a banh mi should taste like, so I applaud these small changes as it provides a new experience. For pastries, they were running pretty low by the time we got there, but I managed to get my hands on some raisin croissants, an eclair, a fruit tart, tiramisu, and some cream pastry puffs. I haven't tried everything yet, but the banh mi, raisin croissants, and cream pastry puffs were great! Also the two 1-star reviews are from San Francisco...? Husband woke me up at 5 am because he said they run out of the good stuff by 10. I was up til midnight the night before due to a bad back and my ongoing insomnia. When I first tried out this place last month, I found out that it was limited to what was available but got a sandwich and fruit tart. The next visit, I went at opening hour but still just started baking the raisin, chocolate, and almond croissants. The final visit, I got all 3 croissants but was underwhelmed. Overall, this is a new bakery so still working out the kinks with availability. Due to the multiple visits, it was a little bit disappointing since only could try a few things at a time. My recommendation is to try elsewhere like the Trung Nam French Bakery on University Ave where availability is not an issue. Plus, the baked goods are not too overly sweet and buttery compared to here. Overall, prices are higher than Trung Nam French Bakery and a little more drinks available. The only thing I would recommend here would be the baguette and fruit tart which is unique here. read more

I confess ... one of my biggest peeves about artisan breads (especially croissants) is over baking until they are a dark brown. In France they are usually baked to a nice golden to light brown or a medium brown for some breads. We tried several items from La Delicious Bread. House Bahn Mi - best I have ever tried. The bread was a little chewy and would have been tough had the sandwich lasted until the end of the day. It was a large sandwich but I ate every last bite. The pate was excellent. Cream puff - the size of a golf ball with a bit of custard inside. Very bready and not much flavor. Pass. Chocolate Eclair - long and skinny. The filling was excellent but still a lot of pastry without much filling. Patrick's is still the standard for eclairs. Croissants - very over-baked and dark brown. The ends were way too tough to eat. We all agreed that Trung Nam is superior (although they need more filling). It was hard to get past the tough exterior. More lightly baked the almond croissant could have been exceptional. The regular croissant was also over-baked. Raisin Roll - dry with dry raisins I will rate them 3 1/2 and I rounded up to 4 since the service was exceptional. The drive thru was quick. read more

We had guests from France, and we took them on a tour of the Twin Cities' French bakeries. This one gets a special review. We were served leftovers at that bakery. The staff was extremely unkind. She recommended the almond croissant because it's their best-selling item. We got quite a few. Some of which were old and had been over dusted with powdered sugar to conceal how overdue they were. The croissants tasted dry and old, no amount of almond filling could save the croissant. I blame the chefs for training their staff to deceive and selling leftovers to customers at premium price, and making them believe selling leftovers to customers is standard to the industry, it's not. Overpriced products! Fruit tarts tasted like store-bought tart shells with chemically low-quality imitation vanilla pastry cream mix. The double chocolate croissants were the worst we ever had, ugly, doughy, unbalanced flavors and no alveoli, a mess. Max up card fee for customers who pay with cards. If you're gone charged customers for everything and to the best of your ability, and overly priced your items, you better make sure to sell homemade fresh high-quality products and not some failed croissants or some leftover or some ready to bake and ready to use products. It fell so far below our expectations. The 2 next French bakeries did better and the staff were more professional and more than kind. read more

Would recommend the large raspberry macaron -- the macaron cookie was chewy and fresh, and the filling was not overly heavy. Would not, however, recommend the chocolate mousse. It was way too sweet and I couldn't finish the entire thing in one sitting because of how sweet it was. They also have day-old baguettes that I'd recommend getting since they're cheaper and you can take them home to rebake or make into bruschetta (my personal fave)! Fantastic pastries brought to us by French pâtissiers moved to Minnesota. The dry and especially cold pastries, apple tart, pear tart, éclairs are the way they're supposed to be. The baguettes are very good as well, and the day-old ones are a great deal, becoming excellent press-grilled sandwiches, or paninis. The personnel is obliging and quick, and make sure you engage the owners if you see them, and practice your French. When I lived in California, one of my favorite things was the Vietnamese/French bakeries that were in our area. Truly they were out of this world. When I found out that the Tim Hortons down the street was turning into a Vietnamese/French bakery I was thrilled! We have only done to go via the drive through (pandemic life), so I can't comment on the inside of the space. The food we have had is excellent though. The croissants were buttery and so flaky. You could tell that it was clearly home made. I can't wait to explore what other delicious baked goods they have to offer. We have also tried their bahn mis. A bahn mi is a Vietnamese sandwich. I can't speak to the authenticity of them, but I have to say these were some of the best bahn mis I've had. I'm not a big pate fan, but even I was shoveling this into my mouth. It had so many different but complimentary flavors. Definitely a nice change of pace from my typical sandwiches. They are also HUGE. I think I ate half and saved half for later. Phew. I just found Marc Heu alternative ! The level of excellent Parisian Bakery Quality. Brandon also did extensive credential training in Paris at the acclaimed international baking school, Ecole Boulangerie de Paris (EBP).and experienced in both Paris and US Bakeries. The difference between these 2 places are the service . While Marc Heu 's Bakery arrogance in service , La Delicious' service was excellent, Very hospitable, polite service you will get and expect from a great establishment.
