Nestled on the corner of Payne on the east side.. great vibe. Chill , clean, order at the counter, reusable silverware and games available . I ordered cookies and queen - I gave the barista freedom without hot or iced option. It was chilly ( surprisingly lol) so it was made hot. Sub almond 50 cent charge They have oat available as well. Perfect cookie butter flavored smooth coffee drink that tasted better than I expected. Minnesota knows how to make drinks I strongly recommend this coffee spot and record shop.. support local establishments! Perfect mix of

I can't believe I never checkout this East Saint Paul gem before! I had a fun time searching through a mix of old and new records while waiting for our coffee and breakfast tacos. For drinks we got the Polyphia (Peanut butter sauce, chocolate, cardamom cream & lemon zest) & Caramel Creme Brulee (Dulce de leche, torched sugar). The menu is small but everything we tried was delicious! The staff were friendly and they had some great music playing overhead. Loved the mural on the outside of the building and the fun decor inside as well. We will be back.

Not since peanut butter and jelly has there been a better combination. Coffee AND Vinyl? Woah. This place feels like home - friendly, welcoming, cozy. Great selection of records (I'm not a coffee drinker, but my friends that are really like it) - and reasonably priced too. They also host musical events from tome to time. This is my official 1st date destination, and it has rendered me plenty success (wink). Would recommend. Oh and the service is always a highlight

I had heard of Caydence...but never stopped in until last night to catch a gig. Whoa... what a hidden gem!! The door fella was super friendly and caught me offguard when I was reaching for my wallet for the cover charge, when he asked cash or card? We can charge a cover charge? I am a rarity.... no record player, so I didn't look around, also not a coffee drinker so I didn't stop by the counter. I asked the doorman if the shows were standing room only or there were chairs? He said standing but he would check. He popped out w a metal stool. I told him that would be great! The stage area is maybe 35 steps away from the door and there were two small high top tables back there. Before the stage area there are two tables and chairs for guests to sit at, across from the coffee counter. Free street parking is plenty on Payne, most of the hour restrictions are for the afternoon. I liked the friendly door fella even more when he came back to the music area during the first show and was jumping around to the music and taking video! The acoustics/music are great for such a small area. When I left the door fella said they have live music every Friday & Saturday night. I went last night specifically to hear/see the Dirty Pretty but was extremely blown away by the rad music of Polar Red so I may pop in on occasion to hear other local bands... find some new music! If you like local music, have a record player, drink coffee, or just want to support a local business, stop in to Caydence!! Thanks Caydence, Polar Red and The Dirty Pretty fun an outstanding Friday night!!

Probably the coolest coffee shop I've been to in twin cities, if for no other reason because I haven't seen this concept before. Separate from the idea, it's also a great cappuccino served with foam art and not-hot temperature. I also thought the outdoor art was really something. Clearly the kind of place creatives go to.

On a quest to discover the best of the best in local twin city coffee shops. We love finding unique coffee shops and drinks and this one hit the mark. Drinks - 5 definitely had some unique flavors. Tried the polypia. Who would have thunk that peanut butter, lemon and a latte would be good, but it actually was quite tasty. If I had it again, I'd have less of flavoring and more milk n coffee to cut the sweetness. Didn't try any food bc nothing jumped out at us. But that's ok bc we're over the top bakers. Service - 5 very helpful, attentive, fast and nice Ambiance - a solid 5. The throwback to vinyl is only topped by their cool merch. Someone really knows their music and has an eye for fun retro clothing, buttons and stickers Accessibility - 4 bc it took a bit to find parking and streets n sidewalk were very icy

What a wonderful pairing of two favorite things coffee and records! This wonderful shop/cafe is worth the journey. With a delightful selection of record and a penchant for quality coffee you won't be disappointed. Great seating options both outside and in married with staff this is joyful to help and be present. They offer some options from five watt coffee, so if you're a five watt lover, you'll feel equally at home both for the quality coffee and quality music.

As I had plenty of time to spare for Lunch with my brother (at the nearby 5-8 Club), I wandered over. Know Name Records struck me as a combination of a CD/Vinyl records store, a head shop, t-shirt seller, memorabilia collection, head shop, disk golf dealer, and rummage sale. The later was based on a couple sets of old speakers, a turntable, and other vintage items that were for sale. Plus from this person of 65's perspective, it didn't look like the 2 older guys tending the counter had escaped the 60s. :) I had a great time looking around. I wasn't much interested in the weed-related or vinyl merchandise, and I would never get those speakers on the plane. But, the CDs were interesting and I found a great Vikings/Prince "Purple Reign" (if only for that NFL team) jersey that I just had to take home (see picture). I'm sure to come back the next time I'm anywhere this side of the Crosstown Freeway. Plus I'd fully expect that there would be a whole new inventory to explore. Good prices too.
