The Tap Room Prime Rib Chili is a winner! Unfortunately I tipped before I noticed the 17% automatic gratuity added to the bill.

HERE THIS ! That dish was the best breakfast I have ever had in my entire life. The breading on the tender steak (I think it was a New York) was so tasty, crispy and suculent. The crispiness lasted until my last bite. The dish was covered with sausage-sage gravy that was so creamy yet light and not filling. These items were laid atop the most buttery, buttermilk laden fluffy biscuits ever! And on the very top, two perfectly over easy eggs (your choice of eggs), but it doesn't stop there. They also ask you for your choice of potatoes, OH MY, and you must get their hand-cut and perfectly golden hash browns. What a meal. What a view. The only reason I didn't rate this 5 stars is due to our server not being on the ball at all (pardon that pun). She was OK taking our order, and then we never saw her again, being given our breakfast by a different male server who was busy with other tables too. We saw her talking to peers elsewhere both before we sat down (we waited for her to finish her convo knowing we were waiting for many minutes), and then the last time we saw her was after we stood up after our meal to go inside to pay our tab (since we sat a while then too) upon which she eventually came out with our tab. The word I would use to describe her was lackadaisical. Albeit when I ordered my dish she perked up to say it was her favorite dish there, so we did see a touch of personality. Prior visits to Porter's, we've always had great service for lunch, but never saw her before this visit for breakfast-brunch. However ! I would go back and be served by her a million times to get that fantastic country fried steak and sage pork gravy!!! CHEERS to Porter's and the chef serving me that dish at 11:00 AM-ish on Monday Oct 26th. M.

It looked like mostly locals, which didn't surprise me. I instantly felt like I was right at home. Aesha (sp?) was our server. She was kind and friendly. I suspect it is typical crowded Saturday afternoon and she was cool as a cucumber. My wife and I enjoyed a beer while watching a few different college football games. She ordered the Brophy cheeseburger (medium). It was cooked perfectly. The burger came with the house fries, which were super crispy, hot and fresh out of the fryer. I ordered the French dip and also served with piping hot crispy fries. It was a simple sandwich, but it was tasty. The bun was fresh, soft and toasted with butter on the flat top. The au jus was also very hot and flavorful. The thinly sliced beef was a reasonably sized portion. I only wish they would use rare to medium rare meat. This separates a super good French dip from everyone else's...including Brophys. Brophy's has a great chill vibe and is great place to watch a game and eat well-made bar food. I will be back here again before the end of the football season. If Yelp had the ability to give 4.5 stars, that is what I would have given Brophy's.
