Waitress greeted us right away and they have coffee outside while you wait! We didn't have to wait long, even with the place being packed! Server was on us right away and had menus at our table! Servers came by a couple of times to check to see if we were ready to order! SO many great options! The biscuits and spicy gravy was off the hook! I actually had it on the side of my steak and eggs! I was TOTALLY happy with just the biscuits and gravy! But everything was great! Coffee was strong and the place was really nice! Had that old school diner charm! All of the servers were attentive and friendly and everyone had a smile! They LOOKED like they wanted to be there, and they all hustled! Great spot for breakfast if you're in the area! We'll be back!
All searches for a breakfast/brunch place led us here. We were staying in Monterey, and when looking for recommendations this place kept popping up. There's ample parking in the plaza, so it should not be a concern. We went on a weekday morning, so it wasn't crowded but the looking at how at the familiarity between the staff and some of the customers, it seemed like a local favorite. The staff was very sweet, and place seemed very chirpy, the place reminded of a good old diner. All the staff was very sweet. We got the Quintals omelette, and it was my first time trying refried beans in an omelette and it was definitely something we'd try again. We also got French toast with fresh fruits and it was delicious too.
Stop by for breakfast on our way to Monterey. We decided to stop here instead of one in Morgan Hill as we wanted to be closer to our destination. We pick Breakfast club as we thought the omelet would be same as other location. Place was busy for a Wednesday. GF got the veggie omelet added ham and cheese and I got ribeye steak as I been craving steak and eggs. Omelet we like the stuff mix in with the egg then fried. Not just fold it all in. Might as well had the veggies on the side. It was ok but disappointed as we were expecting it to be like the other location. I got the steak as I asked server if it was good and she said super good and huge So was excited only to be very disappointed. I asked for medium and it was over cook probably because it was super thin. My pancake did make up for it. Went for pancake in stead of toast. Also first cup of coffee was not hot.
This place was busy busy. We waited not too long, but got sat in a corner so our service was real slow. Took forever to even ask for napkins and silverware. The Tuna Melt was basic and the fries tasted like they came straight out of a bag from Walmarts frozen section. My son got Chicken and Waffles which wasn't bad, but the hash he got was basic and the bacon was hard as a rock. I couldn't believe they even brought it out to us like that. The pricing seems standard like other breakfast places, but is definitely not worth it for the quality that we got.
We shared a smoked salmon eggs benedict & a single cinnamon roll pancake. (FYI they charge a $1 for split plates) can't go wrong w/the Breakfast Club. Thankfully we didn't have to wait long to be seated. Definitely one of my go to breakfast spots in town!

The whole place was subtly decorated in 250 year patriotic theme from the carnations on the tables to the banners on the windows.

We signed up and waited along with a vast number of people. While we did have to wait a little more they asked if we wanted to sit outside, a lot people hesitated cause it was chilly n windy but their outside tent had heating and the wind was blocked. We joked with our server not to forgot us since we were outside, and she reassured us that they wouldn't. And they deliver. Staff were incredibly attentive, always checking in on us, dropping coffees and drinks and handing us these large creamers (that made me laugh). Everyone of the staff that was attending other tables outside always checked in. They were wonderful :) As for the food, it's legit. Out of all the food I had that weekend it was hands down the best. And the prices were perfect after being in Monterey and Carmel. My friends n I split a pancake that was hella good on its own with no syrup, topped with berries. I got a chile verde omelet that just hit right. Legit the best I've had as well. Pork was tender and the verde sauce was delish. I would def drive down here just to eat here again.
I thought this was a pretty traditional breakfast type place. They have all the usual offerings for breakfast and the setting is clean and comfortable inside. Service was also good. I thought the prices were a little high, but not terribly so. I ordered the Traditional French Toast which goes for $13.95. They gave me three large slices of french toast. Most other places typically cut the slices in half and give you six pieces, but honestly that's just to make you think you are getting a larger serving. The french toast was good and I have no complaints.
Stopped by The Breakfast Club while visiting Monterey Bay and loved it. The vibe was fun and laid-back, and the service was friendly from the start. I had a mimosa and an omelet, and both hit the spot. The omelet was fresh, cooked well, and had plenty of filling. The mimosa was crisp and just the right start to a relaxing brunch. One of my favorite little touches was the cute coffee cups with the café's name on them which was such a fun detail that made it feel special. Overall, this is a great place for breakfast or brunch if you're in the area. Good food, good drinks, and a nice way to start the day.
One of my favorite places to go! There are a lot of choices. Inside has a lot of tables, we went on a sunday morning and were seated quickly. The staff were super nice! Definitely a place that can get loud, when we went, it was pretty low key :)

An all-time Monterey favorite for breakfast, I had their 2-egg special with home fries and bacon. the staff are always pleasant and know all the regulars. We put our name down on the list and didn't have to wait long to get seated. If you are in the mood for a great breakfast, the Breakfast Club is a must go-to! My husband and I stopped by The Breakfast Club on our final morning in town. It was a busy morning, and while the staff was genuinely friendly throughout our visit, the service coordination and overall meal quality were a bit hit-or-miss. The Experience & Service: There was some noticeable confusion when our meals were served. A food runner brought out my husband's plate first, then turned to me and asked if I had ordered anything. When I told her I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict, she asked if our server had mentioned they were out of it and if I had picked a replacement. He hadn't told me anything of the sort. A few minutes later, our server came by to reassure me my food would be out shortly, bringing a small bowl of fruit to tide me over. My plate did eventually arrive, but the miscommunication up front was a bit awkward. The Food: Crab Cake Benedict: Unfortunately, the dish was just okay. The crab cake itself tasted like a pre-breaded, frozen patty rather than freshly made. Smothered under the poached eggs and hollandaise sauce, it was fine, but nothing special. Omelet & Home Fries: My husband really enjoyed his omelet. However, his side of home fries was a letdown--they weren't cooked through properly and had an off-taste of old fryer oil. Final Verdict: The staff is nice and trying hard during a busy rush, but given the service hiccups and average food execution, I'm not sure we would return if we're in the area again. read more
It was a nice little place to have breakfast or brunch. It is a little small, so I'd totally expect a waiting list for those busy times. Because we got there closer to lunch, I opted for a double burger over the breakfast options. I asked for medium rare, but they definitely overcooked the temperature of the meat. The burger was good enough, but didn't blow me away. Nothing groundbreaking, just a burger at a small local joint. The garlic fries were just alright. The potato salad was just ok, tasted more like a mass produced one rather than homemade, if I had to guess. The breakfast stuff was alright, based on reactions. read more

We have been to the Breakfast Club in San Jose and Morgan Hill. This one is the OG and has been here for 36 years. Owners and staff are amazing. Food was top tier! Quality ingredients. Their selection of lattes was fabulous. Drinks are incredible! We recommend 1,0 read more

Wow! A short wait on a Sunday to get a seat, quick service to get drink orders in and delivered to the table and the kitchen staff is quick to get the food out once orders go in! The chile verde omelette was phenomenal! I was still thinking about it the next day! A classic hash brown order and biscuits and gravy on the side, created a filling meal! I also had a bite of the cinnamon roll pancakes which were delicious as usual. Great amount of seating in a nice open space, friendly staff, great food! read more

We ate here every morning we were in town. As a person with Celiac, the staff were very helpful and the options were great! I got the pancakes, waffle, and the French toast and I was very happy with all them. The vibe is very much in and out and it was very fast service! Food was great! Service was lacking so I knocked off a star. We found a seat quickly, although they were pretty busy, with our drinks brought by one the guys who cleaned off our table. It took a bit for our server to come take our orders, where I was surprised he showed up in a hoodie, had a very relaxed approach. Not that this is a fancy place but that threw me off a bit. The food came out quickly where I ordered the Veggie egg benedict and my guy had the Chili verde omelet, with substituted Cinnamon roll pancake instead of fries. The food came out very quickly and the girl dropping off the food brought us salsa we requested. Both our meals were really good, cooked well, especially the Chili verde omelet! The cinnamon roll pancake was very sweet but delcious. Our server never came back to check on us, although we saw him walk by multiple times and unfortunately seems to be common with service these days. I was able to get the attention of another worker who brought me a box and asked him if he could find our server for our check where he showed up soon after. We would definitely be back because the food was so good and I highly recommend the Chili verde omelet, as has a lot of flavor and a decent portion of meat. As far as service I wouldn't have high expectations as this place has a "turn and burn" feel to it. read more

We like to visit Monterey a couple times a year. We come here every morning we are in town. My husband loves the cinnamon roll French Toast and my favorite is the banana foster French toast. Service is always warm and friendly. It's the best breakfast in town. read more

Came here to the Breakfast Club for some American Breakfast. Wow, very good comfort food. Shanon, our waitress was amazing with that breakfast club smile and knowledge of menu and quality of service. The ambiance is chill, I did not see children, but look like friends and family. Like Cheers, where everyone knows your name. This place is a gem! Food is delicious and priced right. Hardest part about The Breakfast Club is getting a table, especially in the weekend. I ordered a chile verde omelet... Holy smokes! It was delicious. The flavor was amazing and it came with potatoes and toast. Despite how busy the place was the service was still attentive. Today at about 1 PM I was in the Monterey Seaside area and had an occasion to stop by and try the breakfast club. we went in and chose a table and our server. Tia was very nice and got my wife started with some bacon and eggs with toast and hashbrowns and a large orange juice as well as a side biscuit. I started with bowl, no sugar no milk with blueberries, strawberries and raisins. It was nice and thick and I really enjoyed it. I even took about half of it to go. In addition I had the turkey avocado eggs Benedict with the side of home fries with vegetables. And finally, I got a waffle. Well, done to split with my wife. Everything was delicious the eggs, Benedict, the waffle the oatmeal, the bacon and eggs and the biscuit. I would recommend the breakfast club and quiet in there spread out open and the service is excellent. You could tell it had a local vibe and tourist vibe so some of the people were regulars . read more
Service above average. Quickly seated, waiter on top of getting order in correctly, and busser on clearing plates right away. Lively ambiance with four tops spaced right. I ordered the corned beef hash and it was very tasty with potatoes and mushrooms mixed in. More potato than corned beef though. Scrambled egg was good. Fruit salad was okay with some underripe fruit. Biscuit and gravy okay. Definitely one of the best places I have been out for breakfast in a long time. Popular spot. I recommend it. read more
