The restaurant is actually pretty nice and the servers were polite. I think this place must be a local favorite as they were pretty busy. The food here is a fusion between Filipino type ingredients and American breakfast. Those familiar enough with Filipino food has to know that it is going to be oily, salty, sweet, heavy, and rich in flavor. That's exactly what we got. The longanisa must be a favorite at the restaurant but it wasn't my favorite. It's a little too lean to be an authentic longanisa. I needed the fatty sweetness of it. Lol. For those curious about the Filipino aspect, I wouldn't have high expectations. Their lumpia wasn't super special. Compared to the thousands of lumpia I've had in the US and across the world, they were just OK. For the price they were charging per piece, I wasn't the biggest fan. They didnt blow me away in flavor. They were also a bit burnt/ over fried for my liking. I also ordered the pork belly fried rice. Definitely Filipino inspired, with the adobo inspired sauce. Both the pork itself and the sauce were sweeter than I expected. The fried rice as well was disappointing. It was neither Filipino style for breakfast (sinangag) or a typical Chinese fried rice. It was an Americanized heavy-on-the-butter style. When it comes to viewing with a Filipino lens, it was a bit boring. I dont mind twists on Filipino food. There's plenty of it and plenty I've enjoyed, including on my numerous trips to the motherland. Unfortunately, the ones here were a bit underwhelming. I'd go back here for the amazing staff and limiting myself to the American traditional breakfast. I usually don't really like runny eggs, but Eggs Benedict has been becoming a favorite of mine. My family also really loved their food and the coffee was delicious as well. I was a bit frustrated that I just told him my name, and a few minutes later he would've forgotten had I not checked in with him a second time. The restaurant was busy on a Saturday morning and there was a line out the door. It's a big restaurant, but apparently people love it here, so it was still packed. I like how the menu includes both Filipino breakfast and traditional breakfast. We ordered the Filipino breakfast and the Colorado Omelet. The Colorado omelet included diced ham, potatoes, onions, cheese, which almost resembles sisig. It was bursting with juicy flavor and paired well with the triangle shaped hashbrowns. The hashbrowns were perfectly crispy in the outside and soft in the inside. The Filipino breakfast was just okay. The longanisa has good flavor and was cut fileted, but it just did not taste like the traditional longanisa I'm used to. The spam and fried egg was good, but it's hard to mess up spam. I normally order from The Butter House because they're open at 6:00am, which is perfect since I get to work really early. I really appreciate having a local option that's available at that hour, makes mornings easier. I recently tried their breakfast sandwich. You can choose bacon, ham, sausage, or turkey, and eggs scrambled, over medium, or over hard. I ordered mine with scrambled eggs and turkey sausage. The eggs came more in an omelet-style fold rather than truly scrambled, which wasn't a big deal, just not what I was expecting. The turkey sausage is where I felt a little underwhelmed. It seemed like a basic store-bought link placed whole on the sandwich. For a local establishment, I personally love when ingredients feel more house-prepared or thoughtfully executed. Even chopping and browning the sausage and mixing it into the eggs would have made it feel more cohesive and elevated. It also comes with their house aioli. While I appreciate a house-made sauce, I'm not sure this particular aioli paired the best with the sandwich. Presentation-wise, everything felt layered on and boxed up quickly. I ended up reheating it in my toaster oven to crisp it up and bring it together more. I'll still support them because I love having an early local option- and I love the pancakes. The loco moco feels very homey between the gravy and beef on rice, like comfort food. The gravy is mushroom based and the egg is soft too, so everything kind of felt like a similar texture after a few bites. A side of hashbrowns would be great with it!
