    Pancake breakfast. Crab Benedict
    Jerry E.

The food was excellent, the service was great. We went Father's Day weekend and there was no wait to get seated.

The food was good (well I liked my my food, my fiancé did not like his). Unfortunately our server couldn't care less about being friendly or just a decent server. I think that tainted our experience and probably our enjoyment of the meal.

Overcooked bacon strips. One way worse than the other. Can't believe they even serve this.

Very basic and overpriced. I called in to ask what the wait was like for 3 people. Was told 5 minutes. We got there in 5 minutes and it was packed. And they offered outside or wait 20 minutes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We reluctantly decided outside and it was so cold even while under the heater.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ordered and got our food. My bacon was overcooked and inedible. I informed the server and he offered me fresh bacon strips. I accepted and they came out hot and cooked well. Just too salty. My eggs were ordered over medium and it came out very runny over easy. The service was meh... Oh! And make sure you have cash on-hand as this is a cash-only business. A few tables sat down and left after they read that disclaimer on the menu.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Little tucked away place, quiet location not to hectic in that area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant is little small, old and crowded inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We ate outside which is small but was nice and peaceful and had the propane heater on.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is good with good portions. I got the Kauai combo, the pancakes are huge and fluffy made with banana so had a really good flavor and the eggs had pineapple inside which i thought was a really good combo! Mango sausage was tasty, everything was paired well. Orange juice is really good and fresh tasting. The country potatoes could use more flavor. Decent prices, i'd say average for the area. Service was just okay, not too friendly or attentive. Didn't receive our bill so my husband got up and went to the register himself to get the bill and pay. *cash only*

Corned Beef Hash 'n Eggs - Housemade Prepared with fresh red potatoes, mushrooms, onions, parsley & lean housemade corned beef brisket

Been hearing about this place for so long but tried it for the first time today. We were so happy with what we got! We dined at 10:30 am on a sunday, place was not packed. Corned beef - great taste, far from the canned ones, huge portion good for 2 people; the asian in me wished there was rice to go with this lol Kauai - fruity flavors complemented well, panckaes were really thick, resembling more like a banana bread honestly but really good as well as the sausage For drinks dont miss out on the fresh pressed apple juice. It was so delicous and nice drink to cut the greasiness of the corned beef. Everything was on point, food and service. Can't wait to be back. Also cash only!

Not bad! A popular spot in Carmel, we were lucky enough to get seated immediately (by the time we left there was a wait). I believe they are most known for their eggs Benedict's (they have a ton of variety) but my husband and I aren't fans so we ordered other items. I ordered the Kauai Combo - I did enjoy the pancakes. The pineapples in the eggs were interesting but not my favorite. My husband ordered the corned beef hash n eggs which were fine. Giving it a 3/5 overall because the food was just fine - though portions are large, service was okay and the space was a bit cramped. I wouldn't avoid it but I wouldn't seek it out.

It's a solid no frills breakfast joint. Food quality was good and service was decent. Pancakes are so simple but a lot of places are a let down, but the pancakes here were spot on!

    Ham and cheese omelette

What a hidden gem in beautiful Carmel by the sea. My friend and I arrived right at opening, we received the menus and had our drink order taken quickly. I ordered the ham and cheese omelette with a side of sourdough toast. The omelette was cooked perfectly, it was fluffy with the perfect amount of ham and cheese. The toast was toasted a little too much and the pieces were small. I normally have extra bread when I have breakfast, here I actually wish I had more. The menu is full with options, the only reason I didn't give five stars was because we go offered more water right before asking for the check, I could have used more water before. I will be back for sure to give them a second chance and try something else in the menu

    Traditional Belgian Waffle Breakfast

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Katy's is a super tucked away little restaurant! Perfect for morning breakfast or brunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Incredible service, all of the staff was so kind and we were seated immediately. (We came on a Sunday morning about 11am) Portion sizes are great, homemade juices and fluffiest waffles I've ever had. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Feels like you're eating breakfast at grandmas house but in the best way![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Check it out if you're in the area. But bring CASH. They are CASH only :)

    Carmel Joe's Special
    Tiffany C.

Katy's Place in Carmel offers a cozy breakfast spot with friendly, attentive service. The New York Benedict was a standout--perfectly cooked and packed with flavor--while the Carmel Joe's Special was just okay. There's plenty of seating, but the tables are packed in tight, so expect a bit of a squeeze. Overall, a great spot for a satisfying breakfast. They are cash only though!

Do they still have gluten-free pancakes or gluten-free waffles?

Why do you put this as dog friendly ? That sounds like false advertisement?

Their website states "Dog Policy: service dogs only." So this is not dog friendly unless your dog is a service dog.

I've come a couple of times, and I couldn't wait to bring my family to enjoy this popular family-run neighborhood establishment. They do simple, comforting dishes well. The star piece is their wood-fired oven baking delicious artisanal breads and pizzas. Some dish highlights: - Pains assortis: Assorted wood-fired bread with local butter. - Pan-seared fresh catch - Spaghetti con vongole. Clam pasta - Classic Pepperoni wood-fired pizza I love the vibes and the European bistro feel of petite wooden tables, hanging copper pots, and bicycle decor. This place is cozy and intimate. As popular as this place gets, I did feel cramped at my table. It was hard to get out of my seat without backing into the chairs behind me and shimmying past the tight neighboring tables to use the ladies' room. Service was attentive, friendly, and efficient. I highly recommend making reservations to avoid long wait times.

Street parking was surprisingly easy with plenty of two-hour parking throughout town. We visited on a weekday and were able to get a table without a reservation, though the wait was about an hour. We started with the stone fruit salad, classic pepperoni pizza, and spaghetti con vongole. The salad was incredibly refreshing. The peaches paired perfectly with the peppery arugula, creating a unique combination that tasted vibrant and fresh. The pepperoni pizza was easily the highlight of the meal. It was one of the best-looking pizzas I've had, with a light, thin crust that stayed soft and airy. It was satisfying without leaving you feeling overly full or weighed down. The spaghetti con vongole was packed with clams, and the sauce leaned creamier than the traditional white wine version. It was a different take, but one I actually enjoyed. The only downside was that a few of the clams had bits of sand, which interrupted an otherwise great dish. Service was a bit inconsistent. I wasn't offered a beverage until I had already finished my salad and finally had to ask. The tables are also very small, so things can feel cramped once all the dishes arrive. Overall, the food easily lives up to the Michelin Guide recognition, especially the pizza. With a few improvements to service and a little more attention to detail with the clams, this would have been an easy five-star experience.

They have indoor and outdoor seating , we got their early so the seats were a little wet but Rita wiped down the seats and provided us with blanket covers so the seats were not cold and we had some warmth. She was beyond kind and it was very much appreciated. Also there are only a few parking in front so you may have to park a street or two over. Servicewas just outstanding... Rita checked on us often, brought out treats and water for our dogs and was just amazing. Food: The braised corn beef hash: was absolute perfection... I love corn beef hash and this take with the braised corned beef just spoils you with deliciousness. The poached egg was perfect, I have never braised corned beef but I'm going to learn to try and make a dish like this. My wife got the chicken and waffles, and she gave me some and it was perfect, the one thing that hit the most was the breading on the chicken was so delicious , they made sure the flavor complemented the sweetness of the waffle and syrup, the chicken was tender and with the waffle it was just something else. I also tried their biscuit and gravy and it was so good. The sausage in the gravy and the flavor was so delicious. Overall you can't for wrong here... the complement to the chef and the Rita... you truly have a hidden Gem that we are glad we found.

We were patient, as there was only one person working. Over the next 1/2hr, at least four tables were seated, ordered and received food. We sat there... two black men and myself obviously being treated different. Even the dog, yes the dog at the table next to us was served his bowl of water before us. I had not been back to Carmel for 30 years since I moved out of state. What a nauseating experience, as I was sharing some childhood memories with my son, and my husband. Turns out our complaint to our server was pointless, as she tried to lie her way out of it "we lost your order in the kitchen." Then another gentleman appeared, turns out that this server was the owner. Filled w excuses and honestly, just because he was an immigrant doesn't mean he was a "brown"minority. This place is small and intimate, and they let us sit there, staring, looking, wondering why we are being treated different. No one said a peep until 45 minutes in. I started inquiring where our food was. I would've warned the handful of minorities that had arrived and we're waiting to be seated, but my husband asked me not to, as he said it's pointless and it looks like times haven't changed., especially in Carmel Not that it matters, but the lobster Benedict was mediocre at best, just enough lobster that it wasn't a lie I guess
