    Veggie omelette with herb potatoes
    Heather M.

When In Monterey and about to hit an all day EDM festival at the fairgrounds... load up at this hidden gem. Del Monte Grill and Cafe! A dinner that serves breakfast and lunch ALL DAY! Service is friendly and fast. Enjoyed the veggie omelette (made with egg whites) stuffed with spinach, mushrooms, cheese, broccoli and topped with avocado. The herb potatoes are killer and I love a good buttery toast. Washed it down with sparkling wine (sorry beer and wine only here)

So this restaurant is nestled in a Travelodge Inn, it's hard to see off of the street, even with gps. Coming into the restaurant, it has a cavernous feeling, with a huge waiting area. Coming in during lunch, I was seated right away. They have the usual diner fare. It did have a very local/family-friendly atmosphere. They do have high-chairs for the kiddos and the unisex bathrooms weren't the cleanest. As for the food, I had the American platter. It was delicious. The country potatoes were seasoned well, and they had that crispy on the outside- soft on the inside thing going on! The eggs were cooked perfectly and the meat was juicy. It felt like the cooks put a lot of effort in the meals they prepare. It does feel a little pricey for what I got though I'd definitely go back. Price: $25 (includes 20% tip)

A staple in my family!! I've came here various times with my family and friends, and have always enjoyed my meal. In the past I have ordered waffles or the classic American breakfast and even there Huevos rancheros, along with your hot chocolate. They have usually also been very busy in the past in which wait time can vary. Servers have always been attentive and very friendly. On this particular day, I had ordered the Huevos Rancheros, and came with my boyfriend and our friend. We actually had all ordered the same thing. They were good, but nothing out of this world. Definitely not your traditional Huevos Rancheros, but they were tasty. Before they were located in a different part of Seaside, but now can be found right next to the Travel lodge in Monterey . Can definitely agree that the space is much larger than their last, as it also has little to no decoration. Can definitely use a makeover to help attract new & returning customers.

The food was all pretty decent. The huevos rancheros were DELICIOUS! The coffee was very weak and I relayed this to my server who right away brewed another pot. They were very busy and the one server was working hard to make sure everyone was well taken care of :)

Combo with pancakes, eggs, and potatoes instead of bacon

Totally unassuming old school diner, but the food was on point. I was greeted and seated right away, sat on the patio with my dog. It's shady and there's glass between your seat and the sidewalk, but the noisy busy street was the only real negative here. I got a basic combo, with 2 eggs (scrambled with $1 cheese), pancakes, and had no problem getting breakfast potatoes instead of bacon/sausage. The eggs had a bit too much cheese for my liking, but got my dollar's worth. The eggs were cooked perfectly though. The potatoes were fresh, soft, and had a delicious seasoning. The pancakes were big, light and fluffy. Everything hit the spot. Not too pricey. Attentive service. Easy street parking. Will definitely return.

A happy accident - we were on the way to a different restaurant for breakfast that had a 72-104 minute wait at 10:30 am on a Sunday. We found this place nearby on Yelp and it turned out to be a good choice. We were seated outside immediately, ordered one decaf and one regular coffee and two OJs for the kids. Prompt service. They had good flavored creamers on the table too. The food was really good. My partner got the chorizo burrito special and it was two tortillas rolled up. He didn't love that the salsa had mangoes in it, only complaint. My huevos rancheros was so good, the beans and ranchero sauce was so flavorful and really made this the best dish I ate all weekend. Highly recommend.

This restaurant recently moved from its original location. Breakfast menu looks to be the same , and there seems to be more options for alcohol, including mimosas. Ambiance seemed a little fancy for breakfast / lunch , but it's still pleasant. Servers were attentive , and welcoming. My New York steak and eggs were tasty, and the steak was cooked just right.

This place is a hidden gem. Waffle was perfect, breakfast potatoes were so yum and you have to try their pico de gallo My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak and said the crust were crispy and tasty as well were the hashbrowns. So glad we found another breakfast spot close to home. Definitely worth a try if you haven't been before. We'll be back.

Chef's Salad ordered to go. I added quarter for scale.

I've given this place a chance so many times. I used to go to their old location in Seaside, and then followed them to the new location out of curiosity...and the need for breakfast in an area that has a sub-par selection of decent breakfast places. Their staff seems to be almost exclusively comprised of very young, disinterested men, perhaps related, and probably all recent high-school drop-outs. Their attitude always seems to be that they're doing you a favor just by acknowledging your presence. Breakfasts are unremarkable, although serviceable I suppose. The new location feels cavernous in a weird way. Back in it's 60's heyday, I guess it was a larger restaurant or even a nightclub or something. If you're staying at the Travelodge, then yeah, go here 'cuz it's convenient. Otherwise, I'd never go out of the way to go here. My most recent case of giving them yet another chance was to foolishly stop by to get a to-go salad. Check out the pic. Tiny amounts of low-quality (think Walmart) thin deli slices (ham, turkey) diced up along with crappy cheese, and tossed over some iceberg and sold for $16.99 as a "Chef's Salad". Oh yeah, there was a boiled egg. Yes, you read that right -- SEVENTEEN dollars ($20 out the door with tax and tip) for a gas-station quality "salad"....and it took them 3 times as long as they said it would to make it. The optimist in me says this place still has potential. Replace all the staff, pare down the menu, accentuate the positives like the large bar. Introduce nightly dinner specials? Connect the restaurant to the pool deck so that folks can enjoy a drink on the patio? Dunno...but do SOMETHING soon.

Overall, the burgers and salad were satisfying, and the restaurant had a great casual burger-joint vibe. Starting with the Works Burger, which was the highlight of the meal. The patty was juicy and well-seasoned, and the combination of avocado, bacon, and sauce added a lot of flavor. Everything worked well together and made the burger feel indulgent. That said, it could have used more mushrooms, and it leaned a bit too heavy on the sauce. The bun was also a little soft, if it had been toasted or slightly charred, it would have held up better to the sauce and added a nice texture and flavor contrast. Next was the Copeland Mushroom Burger. This one had a juicy patty topped with mushrooms and grilled onions. The amount of mushrooms was good, and the cheese paired really nicely with the toppings. The grilled onions were a nice touch and didn't overpower the burger at all. While it was solid and enjoyable, it didn't feel particularly unique, more like a burger you could recreate at home. Similar to the Works Burger, it was a bit too saucy and could have benefited from a toasted or charred bun for more structure and flavor. The Grilled Chicken Salad was excellent. It came with generous portions of grilled chicken and bacon, plus half an avocado. Everything tasted fresh, and it felt like a healthy, well-balanced option. No complaints here, definitely a great choice if you're looking for a lighter dish. Service was fast and friendly, and the overall atmosphere was nice. It definitely has that classic burger-joint feel. Overall, a solid spot with good food and a good vibe.

The sesame seed bun was soft, produce was fresh, cheese perfectly melted, and the patty was well-seasoned and decently juicy. That said, it needed more sauce and overall juiciness to really push it over the top. A little extra flavor punch would've made a big difference. The Elvis Burger (7.5/10) was similar: solid but not exceptional. It lacked the seasoning and moisture I was hoping for, and once again, more sauce would have helped bring everything together. Nothing bad, just left me wanting a bit more oomph. Now the good stuff, service and ambiance were excellent. Our server was friendly, upbeat, and genuinely seemed happy to be there, which made the whole experience better. The vibe of the place is awesome: retro '80s burger joint feel with fun music, books, games, and lots of greenery (major shoutout to the plants). It's a cool hangout spot with character.Only downside our table was oddly sticky. Come for the chill vibes, solid service, and a good burger. Just don't expect the best burger of your life. When we arrived they had a small parking lot but busy because they do a lot of Door Dash and Uber Eats business. Once inside I took a quick look at the menu and saw they had breakfast burritos of either Chorizo-Sausage-Ham-Bacon or Veggie. I chose Chorizo breakfast burrito($10.39) The shop is run by the owner-he was the cashier and the cook. In talking to him,he was telling me that his family owns multiple Mexican small shops like this in the Juarez Mexico area and El Paso Texas area.Says that all the shops use the same recipe for their hot sauce that is served with the burritos. Once the burrito arrived,it was both heavy and warm.Once I cut it open,I was able to appreciate the craftsmanship of this burrito in all its chorizo, egg, potato and cheese glory-it was beautiful. As pretty as it was though,it tasted even better,I had planned on only eating half of it as I had a tee time in less than an hour but one bite led to another and then it was gone. I've had many breakfast burritos in my day and as unexpected as this is to say, this may have been the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. Also the aforementioned family-recipe hot sauce that came with the burrito was so spicy yet so tasty--perfect combo to a perfect burrito. In closing,if you ever find yourself in the Monterey area and you want to treat yourself to some upper echelon breakfast burritos-do yourself a favor and stop at 3 Mundos sandwich shop-a top tier food experience awaits.

I ate 1/2 on site, and rewrapped the other half and enjoyed that while at the golf course.
