Charming spot for a delicious breakfast. Great espresso and sweet chia. The service was friendly and fast. Had the corned beef hash...not your typical. Chunks of corned beef with greens in a béchamel sauce over baked potatoes...yummy and rich. Also had the fried chicken and waffle. A sweet and savory treat, very tasty and moist. Definitely a place to go back to!

Cozy cafe with full selection of dishes. Breakfast and lunch served all day. Ordered three mushroom omelette, combination breakfast, biscuits and gravy, chicken pot pie and turkey brie sandwich with green salad. Be prepared to wait for a table as it's popular!

We had such a nice experience this morning for breakfast! The staff is so incredible kind and welcoming. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable since it was raining and cold outside. We got the salmon Benedict and the classic breakfast and it was bomb. Their potatoes are the best breakfast potatoes I've had. There's nothing like when a restaurant has good people and good food. Will def come back!

I recently had brunch here with my family and enjoyed it! It was a busy Saturday and we were a party of 9, so we expected the wait to be a while. To our surprise, we were seated within 15 minutes. It is a very small restaurant, so they had to separate our party and seat us at different tables, which was fine. I ordered the Combo Plate and a single lemon ricotta pancake. The pancake was my favorite! It was very fluffy and the blueberry compote wasn't too sweet or overpowering. Everyone was satisfied with their food! I had a taste of my niece's fries chicken sandwich and that was also very delicious! I would recommend eating here! The 4 stars is only due to the size and spacing of the restaurant, as it is not a great choice for large parties. Other than that, we enjoyed our experience here!

Food was okay. I liked my eggs Benedict alright, but the eggs weren't cooked consistently; one was perfectly oozy and the other was hard boiled. Hubby was not a fan of the goat cheese omelet. He said it was "meh". Daughter said her burger tasted good but dang... it would have been so nice to have a burger option that wasn't double-patties and $20. We asked if it could be made smaller and the server said nope. So we wasted an extra burger patty for absolutely no reason other than to make punching the order in easier, I guess. We ordered two coffees and were asked if we wanted more when our cups were half empty. We said sure and appreciated the service. Until we got our bill and they'd charged us for 4 coffees. I called the server over to inquire if refills weren't free, prepared to lobby for the fact that ours had only even been half topped off. She apologized for the error in charging us for 4.... but that seems really sketchy. I'm a pretty benevolent person but someone had to actually punch in 4 coffees at some point. That's not an error. I wonder how many people actually look at the bill... Total for 2 adults, 1 kid, and zero alcohol came to $80. Dear lord. The burger was the most expensive item. ‍ I get that small town restaurants need income, but this felt a little too pricy for the quality.

Went for rancheros; black beans perfectly cooked as were eggs over easy. Walk back to cannery row will help work off this delicious meal.

This is a nice small business brunch spot right down the way from the water. The inside was decorated beautifully and the food was amazing! I went here with my partner for her birthday and the service was great and speedy as well as the food was delicious! Will definitely come back here to try other menu items!

Ambiance: Typical tourist decorations with over priced paintings for sale. Tables were very crowded inside the cafe. Food: Quality equal to Denny's with smaller portions and priced as a 5-Star Michelin restaurant. Service: Typical tourist experience with servers not too friendly nor attentive. This was a typical Friday am experience. Would expect much worst on a weekend. Biscuits were cold and hard. Eggs were undercooked. Potatoes were fried very crispy. Bacon was perfect.

Great food, friendly service conveniently located on Lighthouse Avenue in Pacific Grove in a nicely maintained historic building. Glad we finally came to eat here. We enjoyed the three mushroom omelette which was served with a side of hash browns, a salsa sauce and a nice flaky biscuit. We were able to identify two types of the mushrooms but couldn't tell what was the third. We also enjoyed a panini sandwich which has a generous amount of cotto, salami, fresh mozzarella, spinach and a tasty aioli spread. The sandwich was huge and bigger than we expected. We shared both of our entrees. The panini was served with good amount of very good fries. I had drip coffee which they refill. Inviting & relaxing ambiance. I recommend this place. Thank you to the great team at Winston's for a pleasant dining experience.

With a day trip to Monterey Bay last fall to get a break from a weeklong Bay Area heatwave, I unintentionally spent the entire day at Pacific Grove for some fall vibes without stepping foot into Monterey or Carmel, a first for me. We discovered a local favorite Winston's Brunch Place and luckily the wait wasn't too long. The Chicken and Waffles and Smoked Salmon Benedict were both solid choices at a decent price, although I am more used to have my benedicts over an English muffin vs. a biscuit.

Cute brunch place in the heart of Pacific Grove. We got seated quickly, and the food came out quickly too. I had the eggs Benedict and they were good. I wasn't too much of a fan of the hollandaise sauce, but I still enjoyed my meal. I'd come here again to try other menu items

Ask the Community - Winston’s Brunch Place

Do they take reservations?

No it is walk in. Never been real crowded when we have gone there.

Do they serve any gluten-free bread or sourdough bread?

I see that other people have asked the same question but haven't seen an answer and they list no phone number. Does anyone know if they serve, gluten-free bread, waffles, or pancakes?

Any gluten-free options for breakfast besides eggs?? Ie GF pancakes, GF waffles, or GF French toast? i'd call if they posted a phone number. Does anyone know it?

Love this place for dinner, but wondering if there are Any breakfast gluten-free options like pancakes, French toast, waffles?

Is breakfast served all day?

Yes

Excellent food, service, and quaint ambiance!…read more I hadn't been here before and my friends found it on Yelp so you know I was on board. We were sat right away and offered drinks, orders taken, and food came out quickly. I had the smoked salmon benedict, which is one of my go to's for breakfast. My friends both had the classic country breakfast. My only, and very minor compaint, is that my food came out a little cold. I was surprised because it did come out seemingly fast. Cold food is one of my pet peeves, but I didn't feel like sending it back. Even as a semi cold meal my food was very good! Even the oven roasted potatoes it came with were bomb. We were tended to consistently between the bussers and servers who all worked together. The service was very fast and friendly. I would definitely return and highly recommend this place for breakfast.

The Portobello Mushroom sandwich is delicious! It is hard to beat a grilled portobello mushroom on soft ciabatta bread, topped with tangy goat cheese, fresh basil, sweet caramelized onions & reduced balsamic glaze! My husband always orders the Pork Tenderloin Sandwich which comes with a very generous serving of pork slices. The flavors of the pork, the caramelized sweet onions, roasted red peppers & sage aioli just meld so well together. Can't wait to try some of their other dishes!

Go out to brunch down at Pacific Grove and enjoy it at a leisurely pace when there are more locals than tourists. The weather was beautiful to enjoy a flavorful corn beef hash with poached eggs and Eggs Florentine Benedict outside under the Victorian facade of the house. The food and service were excellent and so enjoyable, returned just a few months later for the crab cake benedict from their special's menu and a meatball sandwich from their lunch menu under beautiful blue skies once again. Only note is I didn't see a price for the crab cake benedict so was surprised that it was over $30 when the receipt came. But I would definitely return, just maybe not for the crab cake benedicts unless I want a splurge. This spot is definitely worthy of my 1400 review and to take my childhood friend from back East for her favorite meal, brunch, the third time dining indoors. They must be doing something right if I am here 3 times in less than 6 months.

We started with the Clam Chowder bread bowl, Brussel Sprouts appetizer, and the Dungeness Crab Dip…read more All 3 were excellent. I love Brussel Sprouts and order it anytime I see it in a menu. This was one of the best I've had. I like that it was more on the shredded side so it could cook evenly. (I hate when places halve the sprouts, but then don't bake it through. These were cooked to perfection here.) The crab dip was amazing...it's the morning after as I'm typing this and my daughter is still raving about the crab dip. We all agreed that it was worthy of the price tag bc there was a good amount of real crab in it. We really enjoyed the taste and texture. We wished there were more of the garlic bread for dipping! We waited for the clam chowder bread bowl to arrive, and tore into it so we could use that to dip! For our meal, we ordered the Harvest Salad, Organic Half Chicken, Honey BBQ Ribs, Wagyu Burger, and took a mandarin coconut sherbet to go. We were all very happy with what we ordered.

I don't know if people still say bomb.com but it's def warranted here…read more It would be a shame to order a burger when in Monterey so I made sure I ordered something from the ocean on the other side of the glass of the seat next to us. I got the Cioppino, wife got the Crab Pasta and the kids got Fish N Chips + Chicken Tenders. I was very surprised to see a generous amount of crab in my soup. At some places, you get a claw and check that box off but not here. In addition to the real crab, there was a few giant shrimp, mussels, clams, fish, and calamari. Man...everything was very fresh and delicious. I would even have to probably say the best I've ever had! The soup was seasoned to perfection and not too tart. My wife's crab pasta was also very good! I shared mine with her and we swapped for a bit just to sample other dishes here. The kids plates were also high quality as expected from this nice restaurant inside the Monterey Plaza Hotel. To make my bday weekend even better I was able to score a spot right in front of the hotel which isn't easy since it was a non-raining Saturday. This is definitely a "come back and eat" place the next time we're in Monterey.
