Go out to brunch down at Pacific Grove and enjoy it at a leisurely pace when there are more locals than tourists. The weather was beautiful to enjoy a flavorful corn beef hash with poached eggs and Eggs Florentine Benedict outside under the Victorian facade of the house. The food and service were excellent and so enjoyable, returned just a few months later for the crab cake benedict from their special's menu and a meatball sandwich from their lunch menu under beautiful blue skies once again. Only note is I didn't see a price for the crab cake benedict so was surprised that it was over $30 when the receipt came. But I would definitely return, just maybe not for the crab cake benedicts unless I want a splurge. This spot is definitely worthy of my 1400 review and to take my childhood friend from back East for her favorite meal, brunch, the third time dining indoors. Hey there party people Aliotti's is a great place. Been going by it for years and finally stopped in. There is always a bit of a wait but it's worth it. The atmosphere is quaint and homey, like you're sitting in Mama's kitchen. Our waitress was super friendly and kept the homey feel going. We never once had to ask for a refill on our drinks which was wonderful. We got the Banana Cinnamon pancakes as a starter. These were think and a bit dry you really need the syrup and butter to moisten them up. Having said that the flavor was very good. I had the pastrami sandwich. I was really surprised how lean the meat was. It was the best pastrami sandwich I've had in a long time. Hubby had the eggplant sandwich. He really enjoyed the flavors. It was served on top of garlic bread. Hubby said the garlic bread should have been crunchier to add texture to the sandwich. But it didn't stop him from chowing the whole thing down. After a long day exploring 17 Mile Drive and Highway one along Big Sur we wanted a good meal. We drove into quaint downtown Pacific Grove and past the Victorian Corner Restaurant. It looked inviting, so we checked out the menu - with a good variety of choices at reasonable prices - and decided to go in. We were seated promptly and reviewed the specials, the beverage menu, and the dinner menu. I chose a local red blend wine while my wife had a Paso Robles Chardonnay. The server came back after a few minutes, and we placed our order. I ordered the three cheese ravioli with the homemade marinara sauce. We shared an order of the daily special toasted cheese bread and my wife ordered the house salad. I can say the ravioli was delicious. Likely the best I've ever had. Apparently their homemade raviolis with a blend of three cheeses. The texture was just right and often times I find marinara sauce can either be underwhelming or overpowering. It was perfectly balanced. What's the topping of fresh Parmesan and shredded basil. My wife enjoyed her salad with mixed greens, sun-dried tomatoes, olives, and croutons and on the side, blue cheese dressing. Last but not least the cheese bread had four slices thinly sliced sourdough with a perfect blend of butter and melted cheese. Truly delicious! Both the food and the service were amazing! There were four of us and we shared three dishes family style. The waitress didn't hesitate when we asked for extra plates so we could share. We had the smoked salmon Benedict, the tostada omelette, and a daily special, the chicken fried steak. They were served with hash browns, country potatoes, or, for an $4.95 up charge, fresh fruit. I asked for extra crispy on the hash browns and for the order that was served that way, they were great, but the second order wasn't extra crispy and wasn't as amazing. We got one order with fruit and it was a great mixture of fresh fruit, definitely worth the extra $4.95 for us. After we visited the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary, we decided to find a place for lunch. We Yelped and find this restaurant. It's such a hidden Gem. We have our little Pomeranian with us, they welcome our dog inside the restaurant. The restaurant looks like a converted Victorian home, it's very charming. We ordered a Reuben sandwich, a Smoked Salmon Benedict, a Chicken Fried Steak with scrambled eggs and Calamarie Steak sandwich with a salad with blue cheese. All of us were very happy with our food. We ended up here for brunch for my mom's birthday. She wanted Italian food but everything in this Pacific Grove neighborhood is a brunch menu on a Saturday at lunch time. This place had a larger menu then Rudolfos next door so we hopped over and it was packed! We waited 10 min for a table inside and Alicia, our server, was wonderful. My only complaint is that the food took almost 20 minutes. We ordered a salad, chicken sandwich, huevos rancheros, and corned beef hash. I got the corned beef hash with breakfast potatoes/scrambled eggs and it was a lot of food. Between my toddler and I, we ate most of it but still had food leftover. Everyone enjoyed their plate and the building is a traditional victorian home that is well kept. Despite it being busy, it wasn't too noisy. The restrooms were really clean but very tiny. The outdoor patio is nice and you likely can be seated sooner out there. Bring your sweater for that beautiful coastal fog! Portions are generous, everything is fresh and they are more than accommodating when asking for substitutions. I love the Cobb Salad. The avocado and bacon toppers add so much flavor, but I am not a fan of blue cheese crumbles. They kindly subbed cheddar. With the ranch dressing and a slice of garlic bread, it was so much more than enough for lunch. Mom loves a Caesar and added chicken to her lunch. Again fresh and perfectly dressed with a generous portion of flavorful and tender warm chicken. I really enjoyed my taste and would order this next time although I was debating the Asian Chicken Salad. I loved how the garlic bread was done on a more thinly sliced bread. Not as filling and allowed the buttery garlic flavor to shine. Alexa was our server and she was just so lovely. She ensured we were happy with our meals and had everything we needed. If you're in Pacific Grove you need to stop at this restaurant! Very friendly and attentive service. We brought our medium sized Aussie dog, and they were sweet enough to let us sit inside because of how cold it was outside, and they even gave her a little dog treat for being so good. We all got different kinds of pastas and I'm usually not one to finish my plate, but all of our plates for the appetizers, entrees and deserts were licked clean! 10/10 highly recommend!! I came in to this restaurant with my family and when we were getting ready to leave the serve told us to give her a bigger amount of tip and we didn't acknowledge her so she said this is why we don't accept Hispanics. After years of visits, the Victorian Corner is still family owned and operated and offers excellent service. The owners and their staff are friendly and attentive. We have only been here for breakfast, but given the quality, they are worth a try for lunch or dinner. On this visit we shared a traditional eggs Benedict and a fruit bowl. In the past we have gotten the salmon and Florentine Benedict's and the banana waffle among other items. Everything we have gotten has not only been presented artistically, but more importantly (to us) tasted great. The front table still has a great partial and distant ocean view. Bathrooms are in the back on the left side. Street parking is still free for a limited time according to signage on lighthouse. There is still outdoor seating. Reservations are still typically mot necessary for breakfast but you can call ahead on the particular day you plan your visit for dinner to see if you need one. Overall, the 4 star Yelp average is too low for this place--they are a 5 star establishment. We highly recommend giving them a try. read more
