Wild West burger with upgraded chili cheese fries!

This place is amazing! Drove in for the aquarium walked 4 minutes from there to here My siblings and I got the carnitas burger, western burger, and messiest burger (chili burger) all 10 out of 10. The peanut butter vanilla shake was delicious and came in a very cool Deadpool cup! The ambiance is beautiful! It's very homey, food is served on dishes you'd find in any welcoming home, and every wall has multiple pieces of fun American culture. The cashier/ cook is very nice and brought our food to us very quickly! Our only complaint is that we live 4 hours from this delicious place and will need to be back soon! Definitely worth the time and money! Thank you American burger!

Classic cheeseburger

Got take out food when my family came to Monterey. Place was decent but fries were cold. Decent price for decent food. I did like that the burgers did come with fries. Even got a side of ranch!

Amazing food! The service was quick and nice! The ambiance was very laid back & old timey. Love this food!!!

This place may have once been fun and great, but we would have been better off going to Jack in the Box or some fast food place. I was shocked at the prices. Three burgers with fries and one shake was $60! The patties were not hearty for the price being charged. The restaurant itself didn't smell like food. It smelled like an old musty, antique shop. I guess years ago they gave drinks in cool cups, not now. I guess they also gave milkshakes, not now. The server seems depressed and not happy to be there. I saw him shake his head after my husband paid the bill. I guess he was expecting a big tip?! I won't say the food tasted bad. It was fine, but save your money and just hit up a fast food joint. It was not worth $60. Dairy Queen has a better deal with just of good quality, if not better. To conclude, they used styrofoam which I found disappointing considering how awful it is for the environment. I would not go back.

California burger (cheese, bacon, avocado and the works)!

Our group was warmly received by the owners, who took our orders at the counter. Made it easy for us each to pay for our own meal. But the best parts were the retro decor and the amazing burgers. All of them were delicious (even the veggie ones!) and all our ordered came with fries. Wonderful meal and experience. So good.

Everything was tasty! Price is good too. The gentleman running the register was very kind & friendly. I loved the music that they play, very calming! Nothing too overwhelming. I ordered the BLT with avocado, along with curly fries. Very tasty, especially with the house sauce! We also got the western burger, which was also perfectly cooked. Next time I'm here, I'll definitely be back. Such a good find!

We booked Stokes Adobe for table of 8 (including two small toddlers) They brought out little coloring paper & crayons which was super nice of them. We were seated in a private area which was nice since our two small toddlers like to walk around and it's less distraction. We did family style and ordered a bit of everything! Crispy potatoes: Love the carbs! The potatoes were crispy and delicious. The lemon truffle crema sauce was so yummy! Oysters: Definitely order half shell oysters! They were delicious! Hamachi: This was okay, nothing special to be honest sinc Mussels: This one was also delicious as well. It was made with white wine and tomato broth with butter, shallot, garlic. Beets salad: You can't go wrong with ordering a beet salad! The honey vinaigrette was delicious! Santa Cruz King Salmon: This dish was simple but tasty. The Meyer lemon sauce went well with the salmon. 12oz Pork chop: The meat was soft and easy to bite into. The cauliflower puree was delicious! Snake River American Wagyu: I thought the steak was okay. It was a bit too rare for me personally but my husband liked it! Brussels sprouts: Yummmm! Love the crispy Brussels sprouts. Overall service was great and the food was good. The only downside of the night was not getting the duck liver mousse toast. Not sure why the order went through when we mentioned in the beginning but hope to try it next time we're in town.

The food is delicious but the price is a bit steep for the experience we had. My husband and I made reservations for our anniversary dinner on a Friday night at The Sardine Factory when we were on a recent trip in early June to Monterey and the surrounding area. We were looking forward to it for several weeks and had seen videos online of the beautiful restaurant interior, so we made sure to dress for the occasion. Upon arriving we were somewhat disappointed to be seated right near the host stand and next to the front door, practically in the bar area. We had hoped to sit in a more quiet area or in the atrium (especially considering we arrived several minutes before our reservation time and were not a walk-in couple), but we were still happy to enjoy the night. Being near the bar we were in immediate earshot of the piano player, who was singing soft and mellow songs that added to the ambiance when we first arrived. It was a nice start to accompany our drinks and appetizers. Unfortunately that didn't last long as the music swiftly became louder, karaoke-style songs that the bar patrons were happy to (loudly) sing along to. The noise became so overwhelming and didn't let up for the rest of the night. We couldn't hear each other speak or even hear our server. That type of setting is not at all what we envisioned for this caliber of a restaurant, or we would have booked our anniversary dinner elsewhere. Needless to say we wrapped up our meal more quickly than we would have liked and did not want to stay and enjoy dessert as we had planned. It took quite a while to receive our entrees and even longer for the check to finally arrive, but we were quick to leave and don't plan a return trip in the future. We were quite disappointed as we had such high hopes for a nice evening out.

We enjoyed all the food offerings! The biscuit is truly fantastic. I know it's just a biscuit but I really loved the buttery crust and the super soft insides that melted in your mouth. The trout appetizer was tasty... The cracker it was served on was super hard and a bit hard to chew. So... I skipped that and didn't feel I was missing anything. The crab salad was filled with chunks of crab! It was lightly dressed to let the crab shine. Our mains were quite tasty and perfectly prepared. Take note, the clam linguine is generously powered by garlic. The clams are fat and juicy.

I guess it's no secret anyway, best brunch i've had in years…read more The metropolitan bay area is known for the world-class food and renowned cuisines, but we have so much to learn from a quaint and unassuming cafe in a small coastal town. Situated on a cute corner away from the madness of the wharf, we found plenty of parking right outside, got seated immediately, and got a great corner booth between the window and the fireplace. Ambiance: The decor was homely but stately. It was certainly busy but the workers were on it with the bevs and ordering. It was quietly bustling but the dining experience was anything but. It felt like I was having Christmas morning at my really rich but soooper down-to-earth grand-aunt's house who is married to the senator of vermont and im in the running as her favorite grand-niece. (im just talking out of my butt here. i have no clue what that feeling's like but i THINK this is close) Ordered: - Crabcake benedict to share: BEST. BENEDICT. Lots of variations here. Croissant, crabcake, poached egg, hollandaise, added avocados, comes with potatoes on the side. The croissant was a welcomed substitute, crabcakes light, hollandaise warm and classic. The crossaint was still warm and flakey, didnt get soggy by the sauces. the crabcake fresh, light, and unbattered. the potatoes were sweet, al-dente, and seasoned to perfection. No notes! - Crabcake to share: just extra crabcakes here but it also comes with a beautiful salad that was thoughtfully complimentary. Crisp and young arugula topped with caramelized onions, dressed with a light vinaigrette that wasn't too tart. The salad really changed what i thought a side salad can be. yom. - Fresh squeezed orange juice: Not too sweet, not a tinge of sour, flavorful, light but not watery, full but not pulpy. and a generous portion. Definitely made my morning. - Cappuccino: Very full-bodied, foamy, not too sweet. Though I personally would perfer a touch more sweetness but a very personal preference and would like simple syrup to adjust. Perfect for my partner who ordered it and is watching his glucose level. Compared to the Bay Area's over-the-top fusion brunches and long waitlists of bottomless lychee mimosas, the Red House Cafe's attention to detail and commitment to quality was really grounding. I will definitely be adding this hot spot to my itinerary anytime i'm driving past the coast.
