I had the cheeseburger and fries. The food came out fast, tasted great and price was reasonable for a tourist beach spot. The grill at lovers point was an institution, and its vacancy left a hole on the landmark that is Lover's Point. I was worried that whoever took over the spot would not do it justice. Those fears were put aside when Snack Shack opened and they slowly built out a great little menu! I love their onion rings and their smash burgers are delicious. So excited to see that the people from Stokes Adobe took over this awesome place. I was just as excited to hear that they didn't just phone it in with subpar food and a great view. The smash burger was super tasty with a great crust and just the right amount of onions and lettuce. The price was fair for the quality and you really can beat the view! Exactly what you would want in a beach/cove side snack shack. The smell of fried food/fries in the air, seeing people walk around with soft serve, the line moving quick, the menu isn't overly complicated. It was the perfect way to end our afternoon after wandering around Monterey. The kids enjoyed "Dirt in a Cup", basically soft served ice cream topped with gummy worms and oreos... I mean, come on lol Making the drive along the coast up/down to Lovers Point is a must do every single time, and I know stopping by the Snack Shack will be something my kids will want to do whenever we're in the area. As a local, it's funny to admit that I'd somehow never stopped by Snack Shack before. On my day off, I rented one of the family bikes and took my daughter for a ride along the path. It turned into one of those unexpectedly great memories. As we were riding by, a gentleman carrying several large boxes was about to cross the bike path and rather than rushing across, he smiled, stopped, and waved my daughter and me through so we could keep riding safely. We ended up chatting for a minute, and he mentioned it was his his first day trial run I believe. I can't remember his name but it started with an E and was unique, I wish I could remember because he was so nice ! He was incredibly friendly and genuinely excited about the place and urged us to try a bite. I'm so glad we did. The Smash Burger was absolutely delicious, and my daughter loved every bite of her ice cream. The food exceeded my expectations, but what really stood out was the kindness and hospitality. That small interaction on the bike path is what brought us in, and really made all the difference. It's refreshing to meet someone who naturally makes people feel welcomed before they even walk through the door. If that's the kind of customer service they're hiring for, Snack Shack is doing something right. Needless to say, this local will definitely be back. Highly recommend! read more

If your in the mood for an old fashioned burger and fries this is the place to go when you visit pacific grove in Montery there is a small beach for you and the kids not over priced and the food is fantastic and dogs are allowed but not on the beach itself the snack shack reopened last year and my wife and I were pleased the kids running it are friendly and they seem to be happy to be there But then who wouldn't be happy to work in such a beautiful area read more

Loving the revamp of the snack shack. Old favorites are still there, with some new menu items added. Price is a little hefty, but you can't beat the convenience of fries on the beach. I do wish they had more veggie options. I didn't see a veggie burger or anything on the menu. The lines are always a little long on nicer days here, but the cashiers are friendly. As a senior and a local, I can't understand how these new owners didn't pay any attention to the demographics around this iconic spot. The menu is so overpriced that I don't know how any families on the beach could afford a $12 burger $8fries and the topper is $8 soft serve!! if only they would've considered the local families, the blue color workers that would stop there and do something along the lines of El Estero snack shop (reasonable, kids deal) instead of thinking they were on Coronado Island. As nice as the young man is running it, the powers that be that set the original menu in these prices certainly didn't pay attention to all the local and senior traffic around there. read more

Took a chill bike ride this weekend with the hubby along the bike path from Monterey to Pacific Grove. We stopped at the beautiful Lover's Point beach and ate a couple cheeseburgers at the Snack Shack. Friendly, fast service. Clean "shack." Nice adjustable umbrellas at the picnic tables to take a break out of the sun. We were very pleased with the cheeseburgers and have decided they serve the BEST burgers on the Peninsula! We just got a place in PG and wandered down to Lover's Point for some weekend festivities - we opted for the Snack Shack instead of the food trucks and I'm glad we did. Our burgers were delicious with lots of fresh toppings and the basket of fries was huge - the two of us could not eat them all - even though they were perfect. Overall I was disappointed in the new Snack Shack. Unfortunately, they don't offer any vegetarian burgers or even a turkey burger like the previous iteration. When I asked if they offered a vegetarian burger, they said they could do lettuce, tomato and onion on a bun. Really? This just seems like a missed opportunity. It would also be nice if they offered different sizes of fries. As a single person, I don't need such a huge portion for $8 dollars. The smash beef burgers did look good if that is your thing and the service was friendly. But this shack just doesn't seem to meet the overall vibe for that spot. read more

This snack shack is a shame compared to The Grill which was here before. $5 for a small bag of cotton candy from smart and final when there are local companies that make good cotton candy that's actually fresh and good quality not old from a plastic bag. $8 for french fries, it's literally potatoes. $10 for dirt in a cup I got like 1 oreo cookie worth of oreo powder. This is a disappointment to locals now that we can't enjoy a quick reasonably priced snack on the beach anymore, and a scam to tourists. Nothing worth going out of your way over. read more
