    Smash burger and onion rings
    daniel n.

The grill at lovers point was an institution, and its vacancy left a hole on the landmark that is Lover's Point. I was worried that whoever took over the spot would not do it justice. Those fears were put aside when Snack Shack opened and they slowly built out a great little menu! I love their onion rings and their smash burgers are delicious. Keep up the good work guys!!

So excited to see that the people from Stokes Adobe took over this awesome place. I was just as excited to hear that they didn't just phone it in with subpar food and a great view. The smash burger was super tasty with a great crust and just the right amount of onions and lettuce. The price was fair for the quality and you really can beat the view! There was ample bench seating over looking Lovers Point. The staff was friendly and the food came out fast. This will definitely get more visits from me!

Exactly what you would want in a beach/cove side snack shack. The smell of fried food/fries in the air, seeing people walk around with soft serve, the line moving quick, the menu isn't overly complicated. It was the perfect way to end our afternoon after wandering around Monterey. The kids enjoyed "Dirt in a Cup", basically soft served ice cream topped with gummy worms and oreos... I mean, come on lol Making the drive along the coast up/down to Lovers Point is a must do every single time, and I know stopping by the Snack Shack will be something my kids will want to do whenever we're in the area. Check out the photo of the menu I posted (as of 3/8/25).

Just way overpriced. Good but silly expensive. Miss the old place. Just as good and inexpensive for families to eat.

You can even sub a veggie dog for their hot dog combos. My personal favorite is the Bone Yards, a bacon wrapped dog with peppers, onions, and their delicious house sauce! But the fun doesn't end there- they have delicious tater tots and Brussels sprouts that are the perfect pairing for any dog. The Brussels sprouts are seriously delicious- maybe my favorite sprouts in the area. Perfectly crispy and drizzled with a tangy balsamic glaze, it's impossible to only have one. While I haven't tried any of the coffees, it's hard for me to resist a scoop of Marianne's ice cream! The Chiquita Rip Curl is my go to. They even do milkshakes with any of the ice cream flavors. The atmosphere is beachy, cool and unpretentious. We typically elect to sit outside in their patio (weather permitting) which is cozy and cute. We love seeing all the dogs, too! They also have live music on occasion, which is a fun treat.

You might be wondering, "what are you doing here?" I'm wondering the same thing! If you read my…read moreother reviews, you'll see that I reside in the Central Valley, which is pretty far from Monterey, but not too far. I came for a little vacation from the heat, which is definitely necessary because it gets pretty toasty in the Fresno area. I think it's all the roads and stuff. I wouldn't know, I'm not a scientist. To continue what I was saying, I came to Monterey for a little vacation! Usually I'd go eat at a little spot at a mall called Island Burger, but to my surprise, the place was permanently closed! Can you believe it? I couldn't. Because the Island Burger was closed, I decided to go elsewhere for a burger. I checked online to see what folks were saying about this place, and it seemed like everybody had mostly positive things to say. So I went and ate there! When I walked in I noticed it was one of those spots where you just kinda put in your order and sit down and wait. So that's what I did. I got the spicy burger, but I can't remember the name of it. I also got some onion rings and chicken wings. I'd like to mention that I was with my family so we could share those items. I could theoretically eat all of that myself, but that'd be a bit greedy. The burger was great and it had a good amount of spice. The meat was juicy and nicely seasoned, and the fries were perfectly crispy. The onion rings had a delicious batter, and were fried to perfection. The chicken wings really surprised me! I would go as far as to say that they were on par with, and maybe even better than Wingstop. Overall, the service was great and quick, the food was immaculate, and I would absolutely recommend this spot to anybody who is in the area. The bathrooms are nice too. I forgot to mention that. Good bathrooms are very important.

Seriously, this…read moreis probably the best burger I've had in a long time.Three of us ordered the Sur Bacon Burger, which is basically their regular cheeseburger with bacon added. The patty was a solid size, not too thick and not too thin. It was the perfect thickness, giving you a great balance of meat, cheese, and toppings in every bite. Everything is made fresh to order, and you can tell. The lettuce was crisp, the tomatoes were fresh, the grilled onions were perfect, and the whole thing was put together so well. It wasn't messy, just a quality burger from the first bite to the last.My son got The Works, and if you saw his burger, you'd understand why he cleaned his plate. The food came out fresh, hot, and looked amazing. They really take the time to make everything look picture-worthy. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, the wait wasn't long at all, and they have self-serve fountain drinks, which is always a plus. The menu is simple and easy to order from. They have salads, chicken burgers, hamburgers, and you can customize your burger however you like. Their burgers are cooked medium-well by default, but I asked for mine well-done and they got it exactly right. The customer service was cool. They weren't over the top trying to impress you, but they definitely weren't underperforming either. Everyone was chill, friendly, and got the job done. The portions are generous. I only finished half my burger and took the rest home. I reheated it later and it was still just as delicious. Overall Rating: 8.7/ 10. This place has officially earned a spot on my list of go-to burger spots. I'll definitely be back!

I had the Wild West burger with fries, and let me tell you... even on a slightly overcast day, that burger transported me straight to a sunny summer afternoon at the park. The atmosphere is just as wonderful as the food. Comfy chairs, board games, books--it's such a cozy and delightful spot to relax. The service was incredibly friendly, too. Highly recommend!

The burgers here were good not mind-blowing, but definitely satisfying…read more Starting with the California Burger (7.8/10): it gave me "elevated Whopper with avocado" vibes. The sesame seed bun was soft, produce was fresh, cheese perfectly melted, and the patty was well-seasoned and decently juicy. That said, it needed more sauce and overall juiciness to really push it over the top. A little extra flavor punch would've made a big difference. The Elvis Burger (7.5/10) was similar: solid but not exceptional. It lacked the seasoning and moisture I was hoping for, and once again, more sauce would have helped bring everything together. Nothing bad, just left me wanting a bit more oomph. Now the good stuff, service and ambiance were excellent. Our server was friendly, upbeat, and genuinely seemed happy to be there, which made the whole experience better. The vibe of the place is awesome: retro '80s burger joint feel with fun music, books, games, and lots of greenery (major shoutout to the plants). It's a cool hangout spot with character.Only downside our table was oddly sticky. Come for the chill vibes, solid service, and a good burger. Just don't expect the best burger of your life. Worth checking out if you're in the area!
