    Cheeseburger and double cheeseburger

Fast service, unassuming snack shop next to little league field. After seeing many glowing reviews I had to give it a shot. The food is cheaper than fast food and the quality is far superior. Locals say it hasn't changed or gone down in quality. Cheese fries are a must

Fries are crunchy, and the chicken burger is fried and tasty. I was surprised to have tasty food here! Perfect location too

    Snow Cup

After an afternoon of hard playing at the park my daughter wanted something cold and refreshing so I figured since we've never ordered from here we'll try a snow cup. Oh my gosh....the syrup and course ice DO NOT make a good pair. My daughter didnt like it, she said the syrup tasted like medicine and the ice was way too hard and not enjoyable and handed the cup to me. We'll save our snow cone aka shave ice cravings for when we're back home. The four stars is for the customer service only!! Since the gentleman also suggested the burgers are good, then we'll be back to try it.

I decided to go the next day, and the line was more manageable and I found street parking nearby. The pastry counter is the first thing you see when you enter. You can also order food and drinks from the counter. There was seating throughout the space which was in a historic building. I got a few goodies to try which included the blue cornmeal cookie, almond financier and an orange blossom tea cake. I also ordered their seasonal coffee which was a honey saffron latte. The cookies, financier and tea cake were all delicious. The latte wasn't overly sweet and was even a bit savory. It grew on me. There were a few sandwiches ordered by other patrons that looked scrumptious. If I hadn't eaten breakfast already, I would've ordered something substantial. Hopefully, I'll return to Monterey again. If so, Alta will be on my list.

My 7- and 9-year-old didn't like the croissant sandwich because it had spicy mustard and sweet pickles. Unfortunately, they had run out of the other sandwiches, so our only other option was the spinach wrap, which I ordered but found bland and lacking flavor. We may have missed their more popular dishes because they stop serving them at 11 a.m. The tables inside also weren't clean. I chose this café because it was highly recommended on TikTok, but I probably wouldn't return. Cappuccino: 9/10 Fancy dessert: 8.5/10

It was absolutely delicious! It's the best dessert I've had in California. I highly recommend the yogurt and pistachio rose cake.

We ordered and iced and hot Mexican mochas and they were delicious! I appreciated them having decaf espresso as an option as well for those of us with caffeine sensitivity. Sometimes they've been lovely and bubbly, but for some reason this one blonde staff member never seems like she actually wants to help. I had some questions on summer specials since "refresher" doesn't tell me much and she kept telling me about other drinks instead and being super short. The whole interaction still only had to have taken 2 min with only one person (who had been there for a bit already and seems local/older) behind me. Yet the minute I paid, even though I apologized for the questions and tipped, she loudly and passive aggressively said "sorry for the wait" to the next person right in front of me and they both laughed right in front of my face. I read the other review of the person who said they'd been here a bunch and usually loved it and then had a bad interaction and are also not like the "usual" demo of PG - I am also a person of color who was made to feel the same way. Such a shame what one bad impression can leave. Multiple comments about this has to be more than a coincidence... I would come back only maybe if this person wasn't working but not going to go out of my way anymore

I ended up getting the Kids Cookie Dough, and it did not disappoint. It was perfectly sweet and absolutely packed with cookie dough pieces, every bite had some. My husband ordered the Apple Pie flavor, and it was just as delicious. The balance of cinnamon and apple was spot on without either flavor overpowering the other.
